CHAPTER 36: CRYING AGAIN

"Oh yeah! I remember! Your mother told us when you were in the hospital, she said that she knew our parents in the past!" Zen exclaimed at Anna and Aaron.

Anna and Aaron did not listen to them because Anna was busy praying that her mother would not scold her and Aaron was thinking hard to find out who was planning to kidnap them. They now only hear about their parents who have a close relationship with each other.

In Aaron's mind, he thinks that if his mother is close to someone, does that mean Nathalia's parents Josh and Zen are part of the organization his mother mentioned to him earlier? That was the only logic he could think of because he knew that his mother was not someone who could make friends with anyone easily and of course, Anna also thought that way.

On the other hand, the three childhood friends knew nothing about their parents' secret organization, they didn't realize it, the only thing they know is when their parents are young like them, they are part of a gang. The three of them tried to find out about it using Nathalia's hacking skills, but all the info about their parents in youth were all gone and they gave up after getting the result of failure.

Leonardo and Mary had stopped their little quarrel and turned their attention to the children who had been watching them both the entire time. This made the quiet Leonardo feel embarrassed and to relieve his embarrassment he coughed lightly and asked Nathalia, "What are you doing here? You know you're not allowed out until further notice?"

Nathalia scratched the back of her head before answering her father's question, "I snuck out." Nathalia can only act cute in front of her father and no one else when she does this, guard Leonardo down, she always has a soft spot for her precious daughter.

"Come, Leo! Nothing would have happened if he was under my roof" said Mary. Of course, Leonardo knew very well that Coleman's residence was filled with skilled people; even some of the servants here had the skills to kill and protect the young master and the young miss of the house. That's why it's safe for her daughter to be here but her only concern is coming here dangerous because the other abduction causes are unsolved and they don't know when they'll plan to take it action again. Taking precautions is a must!

Mary also knows this very well, but she is not like Leonardo who is overprotective of his daughter. He takes precautions fine; he lets the twins go wherever they want and if they go out he sends someone to watch them in the shadows, also the twins know how to fight when they need to. What good was his hard training for them if they did not even use it?

Mary looked at her daughter and felt a little disappointed. Anna was able to dodge the bullet that came towards her that day but she did not. As far as she knew her daughter had great reflexes, she wondered what bothered her daughter not to dodge bullets. That was why he decided to tell her later that whenever there was danger, Anna had to be careful at all times and not be distracted until things were safe.

Sitting alone in her study, Mary was too focused on the documents her assistant sent. Ever since he took over Coleman Corporation, his schedule had always been so congested that he sometimes thought that he didn't have enough time for his own children. Initially, when his father-in-law told him to take over Coleman Corporation he turned it down many times because he thought he was not good enough for the position.

He suggests James but Marcus doesn't want James to take over the business; the reason is because of James' arrogance, because their business arrogance might fall in just a month, that's what made Marcus want Mary to take over their business. Mary was much more suited to that position like her husband.

"Where are you...?" He unconsciously said. Thinking of her husband again made her angry, but at the same time very sad. Her husband suddenly disappeared without a trace; he tried to find her but it was useless, all traces had disappeared like he was not there at first.

It had been 11 years since his sudden departure and he still had not given up on looking for her. From time to time she still goes to the same place where they first date thinking that there might be a chance that she will be there waiting for her, she said, but every time he went to that place his heart broke from disappointment.

Mary can only mention 2 possible events that may have happened to her husband; 1. He may have an affair and run away with her; 2. Something might have happened to him and died. Thinking of these two possibilities made his heart break once again.

"Crying again?" Leonardo who had just entered without knocking saw him immersed in his thoughts and when he saw him suddenly burst into tears, he could not help but curse the man because he knew the only person who could make him cry like this was because of him and only him. They had known each other for a long time even before the gang was formed, so even though he didn't say it, it was not, she knew in her heart that Mary was her best friend and Mary was also like-minded so it was natural for her to worry about Mary.

Mary looked up at him and wiped her tears with a bitter smile, "I think so..." Leonardo felt sad for him and he wished the man was still alive so he could punch him in the face at full force. The man made Mary cry silently a few times now since she disappeared.

There was no romantic relationship between Leonardo and Mary even in their youth, they just considered each one a friend and that was it. Mary always helped him, like when he tried to seduce his wife and also when he was too nervous when his wife gave birth to his only precious daughter. She owes Mary a lot, which is why she tries her best to find answers to the man's sudden disappearance.
