CHAPTER 24: TABOO

Since Josh would treat them all, Zen did not hold back his appetite and ordered a lot of food at the table just for him. Ever since Anna met Josh and Zen, Anna knew 2 things about Zen, she was miserly and foodie, whereas Josh, was, based on what happened before Anna thinks that Josh hates losing the most and he is very competitive in every challenge thrown in him.

"Anna where did you learn how to shoot a ball?" Nathalia asked and the light in her eyes was filled with curiosity.

"I told you before, it's the first time I've shot a ball. No one taught me." Even in her past life Anna had never played basketball or even shot a ball in the ring.

When he played before, he had a faint flash of memory in his mind. A tall man played basketball and there was a toddler clapping every time the tall man shot the ball into the ring. The toddler was happy whenever he saw the man playing.

Those vague memories felt nostalgic to him, he felt happy for a moment. Unfortunately, he could not clearly see who the tall man was. She wondered if the baby was her, if so then she could ask her mother to find out about the tall man.

"That's right. He's never played basketball before" Aaron said. Aaron also learns that his sister knows how to play. As far as he knew none of his family members were clever or even knew how to play it.

He thought so hard that he remembered that there was one family member that he was not sure if that person knew how to play or not, but then again he didn't want to mention that person and he didn't really care. The man left them without any notice at all. Remembering that guy was just ruining Aaron's appetite and he was just staring at his food.

"Hey, are you going to eat it?" Aaron looked at the person in front of him whose plate was already full.

"Are you not satisfied with that?" He said while pointing at the Zen plate.

Zen looked at his full plate and said, "No! That's not enough to fill me up!" Aaron could not believe this man, 'Did he have a bottomless hole in his stomach?'

"You can have my food if you want. I'm full already." When Aaron said that Zen did not hesitate to take his food and eat it with pleasure. He suddenly wondered, why was Zen thin and fit when he ate like that? He eats like a pig now.

"You're full?" Anna asked her sister.

"Yes." Yeah."

"But you eat only a little." He said with a concerned voice. Previously, Aaron had also advised Josh and Anna to stop playing because he was hungry, but now he only eats a little. He had to eat more, that was what Anna thought.

'How dare he worry Anna! Ck! I should have forced Anna not to bring her annoying brother here with us!' For the first time in such a long time, Nathalia felt a true friend before Anna, even though they had just met and didn't know much about each other, he felt that he could be honest with himself once again with Anna's whereabouts.

Of course he has Josh and Zen around him but it's not enough for him. He wanted someone who could understand him deeply and he felt that Anna was someone who could understand him. After all, they experience the same thing that is 'betrayal' from someone they think is their true friend. Nathalia only hoped that Anna would open up sooner and trust her.

Since Aaron didn't want to argue with Nathalia, now he's changing the subject, "So, you're brothers or what?" To be honest, Aaron was very curious about what kind of relationship Nathalia and the two had.

Nathalia doesn't really want to answer Aaron's question unless Anna asks him he will gladly answer and for Josh who is still depressed about losing before won't talk, he will, it's not new actually he's always been a quiet person why not be surprised if he doesn't want to answer Aaron's question.

Seeing the two not answering Aaron's question, Zen swallowed the food in his mouth and said, "Nathalia and I have known each other since we were kids and when we were growing up and entering elementary school, we met Josh. Overall we were childhood friends." After she said it all she continued to satisfy her stomach.

"Only the three of you?" ask Anna.

"Not really. We've got one more" Zen stopped talking when he realized what he was going to say. Mentioning someone from her past was a taboo topic especially for Nathalia, of whom three were the most injured.

Zen silently looked to both sides, though, he sees Josh just silently eating his food as if he heard nothing and he also sees that Nathalia stopped eating his food and his eyes show sadness and anger. Zen really wanted to punch himself right now, sometimes he couldn't stop talking when he was enjoying his food too much.

Aaron and Anna notice the change in the three of them, they notice that when Zen stops talking in the middle of his sentence, Josh has a dangerous aura that is as if wanting to kill someone and Nathalia, who is, his aura of cherry turned cold. It seemed like the other friend that Zen had almost mentioned was a taboo to the three of them, they did not want to talk about it nor did they want to hear about it.

Since Anna and Aaron felt bad about it, they changed the subject, they both did not want the atmosphere to be awkward.

"By the way, what are we gonna do next?" Hearing this, Nathalia returned to her cherry aura.

"Oh, I know! Let's go skating! There's a skating rink upstairs!"
