CHAPTER 47: HE WILL NOT MIND
Aaron who heard everything felt a little sorry about joining the basketball team. When coach Jackson said they would do extreme training after the school event was over, he felt things were not going as well as he wanted. The main reason he joined the basketball team was to escape his grandfather's training to prepare him when the time came for him to take over Coleman Corporation. Escaping from his grandfather on weekdays was something he did well, but after listening word-for-word from the coach he felt he was not really running away from anything, but he entered a worse scenario.
"Why do you look so sad, brother?" Aaron looked at his sister with a wide grin plastered on his face.
"Instead of escaping grandfather's constant labor-intensive workload for me, I suddenly got into a worse situation." Anna just chuckled at her brother's laziness.
"Are you trying to quit now?" If her brother dropped out of the basketball team, she felt that her brother would miss such a great opportunity. Her brother may not know it himself but Anna saw how serious Aaron was playing earlier. This is the first time he has seen Aaron take anything seriously and he wants his brother to be part of the basketball team for much longer.
Hearing what Anna had just said, Aaron pondered whether he should stop or not. When he played earlier he felt something he had not felt for a long time. If he stopped now, he probably wouldn't feel this way anymore, "Hmm... Maybe not now." He said with a smile on his face. The girls on the sidelines looked at that smile and their shouts became louder than before. "Ck! They're really annoying flies."
"Oh brother, don't' jerk like that." Honestly Anna didn't mind her brother describing the girls as flies because of their presence like that, where they went buzzing and saying such nonsense to each other.
"What's? Them!" Aaron wouldn't call them that at all because his nanny Mamita always reminded him to respect women, but when he heard false rumors about his beloved sister, he said, he felt that there was no point in respecting them if they could not even treat his sister well. From today onwards he will only respect those who deserve respect, those who do not treat his family well then he will never treat him well.
Chris, who was busy chatting with his team members saw in the corner of his eye where Aaron was talking to someone whose face was somewhat similar to Aaron's. The similarity between their faces sparked his interest and went to their side. "Who's the pretty lady here?"
Chris was about to hold Anna's hand, but Aaron and Nathalia had already stepped in and stared intently at her. He was shocked by how protective the two were towards Anna. He wondered what kind of relationship they had with him.
"Don't touch my sister."
"A-Sister?" Chris was really surprised when he heard that, he did not expect that Aaron would have a sister and moreover Aaron was very overprotective of his sister. He didn't expect that from a guy like him who was so cold to almost everyone. But then again when he saw the two of them, they were very similar.
"Clear." Aaron doesn't like other people touching his sister to be touched by some random guy. If it's Josh or Zen it's okay because he trusts them, but Chris is a different story even though he's the captain of the basketball team and he knows him a little bit, but that doesn't mean he trusts her completely to be allowed to touch his beloved sister.
"What about him? Is he your sister too?" Chris asked while pointing at Nathalia.
"Excuse me? Between me and you, I'm prettier."
"So, are you telling me that my sister looks nothing compared to you?"
"What?! I didn't mean it that way!"
"Because Anna and I are twins, that's what I think you mean." Nathalia was clearly confused by Aaron. She didn't really mean it that way, for a moment she forgot that Anna and Aaron were twins and their looks were exactly the same except for their gender of course. When he said those words, he only said them out of annoyance with Aaron, he did not think about the fact that Anna had the same features as Aaron.
Seeing how confused Nathalia was, Aaron felt like he wanted to tease her more. He knew that Nathalia did not mean it like that but to him, teasing him was just fun.
"Please don't mind them," Anna said politely to Chris who had an amused expression on his face. Anna only sighed inwardly, the problem with Nathalia was that she was easily confused when she realized that she was saying something wrong.
"Oh. I don't mind at all. It's nice to see such a couple from time to time." When Anna heard him, she laughed as if there was no tomorrow. Thinking that someone really thought that her brother and her friend were a couple; but then again, seeing them now arguing she felt it was possible and Nathalia was not a bad candidate for her brother. She wouldn't mind if Nathalia and her brother started dating.
As Aaron and Nathalia were close to Anna and Chris, they both heard what Chris had just said and they both immediately said, "WE ARE NOT A COUPLE!" They both disliked the idea that people mistook them for a partner, it really felt awkward for both of them.
Chris gave a confused look. "Huh? They aren't?" chris asked Anna and Anna just nodded. If they are not a couple then what are they? Are they just friends? That's a shame."
"The four of you there! Stop chatting, Aaron and Chris are coming here!" Jackson calls out his two players and Aaron grumbles that he is really going through a grueling high school year.
"Well the coach called me and your brother, I guess I'll take a look?" Anna simply nodded and she felt a palm on her head. He looked up to see whose hand it was and he saw Chris patting his head lightly with a smile on his face.
