CHAPTER 21: SPENDING TIME WITH YOU

"Yes.. and you?"

"Nathalia Vendallin." Anna saw him smiling and the way she saw him, like a goddess falling from the sky. Her light blue eyes praised her blond hair and facial features. If Anna was a man, she would chase after Nathalia and marry him immediately.

"You are one enchanting goddess..." Anna said her thoughts out loud, and this made Nathalia laugh. "Well, thank you for the compliment, young heir."

Anna blushing. He was ashamed of what he had just said.

"Please don't call me that. You can call me Anna. 'Young heiress' is too much." Anna felt comfortable just by talking to him, but trust was something she held the most respect for. He did not want to be fooled anymore and had already kept his distance from Nathalia.

Nathalia could see in Anna's eyes that she was putting up her vigilance. People like him have a hard time trusting others. He could tell that it was based on his experience that he put up his vigilance as well.

"Do you think you and Rebecca are close friends?" Anna's left eyebrow lifted. How did he know about that? The public doesn't even know about Rebecca and her. Only his immediate family knew about their past relationship.

"How do you know about Rebecca and me?" He did not answer Nathalia's question and only asked back.

"We were in the same high school and class, but it seems you didn't notice me, and the only person you spoke to was Rebecca, so in my thought process, I was just thinking, I came up with the idea that you and Rebecca were best friends. Or should I say ex-friend? Now please answer my question." That would explain that Nathalia knew about him and Rebecca. She must have been shocked to see Anna's indifferent attitude towards Rebecca.

"At my grandfather's birthday party, he tried to sedate me, but luckily, I avoided him, and he was the one who was drugged by his own medicine." This revelation shocked Nathalia. She knew that Rebecca was not a good person from the day she first saw her in high school, but this kind of action exceeded her, and it was too much.

"Wait... You said at your grandfather's party? But the next day, Rebecca was found by a group of naked journalists with a man. Reportedly she was raped or something..." Before Nathalia could finish her words, Anna cut them off.

"What happened to him was meant for me from the beginning. I looked through his plan and used it against him. He ordered his manager to call all the journalists to come to the hotel at that time. How did he get to the hotel? Well, I asked my driver to send him there and let the staff member take him to his room..." As Nathalia listened to Anna carefully word by word, her goddess-like face frowned. He asked how did he know anything about it? But he just shrugged his shoulders. She thinks Rebecca deserves it.

"If you're being honest, you're a crafty person, and I like him a lot." Nathalia now decides to befriend Anna. All she had to do was lower Anna's vigilance and make her realize that she wasn't like Rebecca, who would betray her. She'll be Anna's call and call all the time.

"Oh? Is that so? You won't judge me like everyone else in this room. Everyone in this room already thinks of me as a rich, mischievous, arrogant girl."

"Look, Anna, I don't judge a book by its cover. I'd rather spend my time getting to know you before I come to a conclusion." At first, Anna was reluctant to believe it, but she only sighed in defeat as she looked at her sincere eyes and nodded in acknowledgment.

Nathalia did not want to push him too hard. He would take it step by step until Anna fully accepted him as a friend.

The two of them talked to each other for a while until their homeroom teacher arrived. The class had already started, but somehow, Anna felt her sister suddenly became very quiet the entire time, especially when Rebecca confronted her with her acting skills. It was unusual for him to be quiet.

Anna thought Aaron was going to make a fuss when Rebecca was in front of her, but that didn't happen. Aaron's been quiet the whole time, and he's only realising it now.

Anna looked towards her brother. Disappointment was clearly on his face. No wonder her brother was so quiet. He sleeps all the time! Even when the class started, he was still sleeping!

Anna grabs his arm and pokes Aaron's shoulder a few times, but still to no avail. He didn't wake up at all. In the end, he decided to take out his notebook and hit his head hard.

It was a loud punch that shocked everyone, especially Aaron, his eyes widened and scratched his head in pain. Everyone looked towards Aaron with a puzzled look. Aaron doesn't even know what happened to him. All he knew was that something hard hit his head.

Aaron apologizes to everyone for the disturbance, and Anna sits quietly. He may look like he is listening to every word of the teacher, but it is quite the opposite. Inside, Anna held back her laughter, her brother's confused gaze was something she couldn't forget, Aaron's reaction was very hard to forget.

Even Nathalia, who saw the entire scene, could not help but laugh as well. It was a torment for the two young girls to hold their laughter inside.
