As soon as Rey calls the doctor, Kikan tries to break away, "No I don't need a doctor."
"He'll examine the wound, tell us if it needs to be sewn."
"If you go to the doctor, it means there are costs incurred. While me.. I have other plans, for my income in the near future."
Earnings from where? Rey doubts Kikan has any income, but he can't say it. "Kiss..."
"Stop." He said, "I've had worse. It's nothing."
While observing Kikan closely, Rey was sure the woman was feeling dizzy, "Then this is negligent for Jason's peace of mind."
"Don't."
"Don't what?"
"I don't have money for doctor's fees. I'm sure you know that."
"I'll pay the bill" Rey said. But he should have known it wouldn't convince Kikan.
Kikan subtly tried to get away from her. Then Kikan started walking at a faster pace than he should. "I'm fine." He said "Go take care of Jason."
"Fuck, Kikan." Rey rushed after him. "Why are you so stubborn? It won't be too expensive."
Kikan didn't bother to look when he heard him speak, so Rey spoke with his back. "It was just a waste of money" the woman said. "I'm fine, like I said."
"It's seven kilos more to your house. You're not going to get there."
Kikan did not comment
"Now you won't be able to see the direction of the road, with blood pouring on it."
Kikan did not respond. He tried to keep his distance between them. And it seems he's sure of succeeding, but rey won't let go. He did not know if Kikan would make it to his home safely. So she ran after Kikan and pulled him into a hug, which was not difficult because the woman's body was not heavy.
"Aah!" scream Kikan. Rey surprised him and didn't expect to be treated that way. Rey guessed Kikan's head was also sick, and letting the woman stubborn was pointless.
"We do it my way" Rey said, then carried Kikan on a pickup.
Kikan felt like vomiting. That pain, plus such great shame and regret began to affect him. He shouldn't have gotten into Jason's jeep. Rey definitely wouldn't want Jason to spend time with her if the boy wasn't safe. That was all he could think of while he wiped the blood flowing from the wound near his right eyebrow. In an effort to keep the blood from staining the upholstery of Rey's pickup seat. He no longer tried to save his new clothes.
Rey looked grim when she drove. Kikan could easily imagine what the man was piercing about. That Rey already knew the situation would be a nightmare when she let Kikan go home. That Kikan should have gone somewhere other than here. That Kikan had no right to destroy his life a second time. And worst of all, that Jason would obviously be happier without Kikan.
Unfortunately, Kikan did not feel strong enough to change the situation. He had to wait and hope to still be allowed to communicate with Jason. And maybe watch the game, after all this passes.
When they stopped at the only red light in town, Rey glanced at him and definitely saw Kikan vainly holding his blood. Kikan had nothing to hold back the blood, so Rey took off the shirt she was wearing.
"This use this."
Closing her eyes, Kikan pressed the cloth against her head and then pressed it against the window to keep it from shifting.
"You okay?" Rey asks as they park in front of Kikan's unknown house.
He did not bother to answer. He was not fine, but it was not entirely due to his injuries. Kikan was more disappointed than anything. "Where are we?"
"At Doctor Harris's house. Now Sunday we can't meet him at practice."
"We can't disturb anyone in his house!" Kikan protested, but Rey got off the pickup
"Geez," grumbled as Rey rushed to the door of the house, and felt even more upset when the doctor opened the door, looked at her, and nodded to Rey. Kikan knew from Rey's expression that Kikan would give up.
When he comes to her, Rey doesn't help Kikan get off as expected. Rey took him again. But this time it felt even more awkward because he was not wearing clothes. His shirt clumped in Kikan's hand.
Kikan can feel Rey's warm skin on her cheeks, therefore she tries to keep her head away. But that position, made him so sick that he was unable to do it for long. And it seems that Rey is getting impatient seeing her attempt to avoid contact, as she strengthens the embrace so that Kikan can't do anything about it.
"You had a hard knock" the doctor said as they entered the house.
"Not too bad." said Kikan.
The doctor beckoned Rey to go to the kitchen, then followed them. "Let's check it out." Said
The doctor picked up the bloody sweatshirt shortly after Rey sat Kikan in the chair. "We have to clean it before we know how deep the wound is."
Kikan braced himself against the strong pulse inside his head that felt worse. "Little wound."
"I think the little wound needs a few stitches" the doctor said in a flat voice.
"Wearing a Band-Aid is enough. Then I'll be home soon. It's Sunday, I'm sure this isn't what you want to do."
"Calm down" said the doctor. "It won't be long."
Even if it went fast, there was nothing Kikan could see except Rey. The one standing nearby, looked displeased with both arms visible on the chest.
The doctor cleaned Kikan's wound, then considered whether it was necessary to sew it. Kikan had never seen a man without a shirt for a long time, so he was tempted to look at Rey. Therefore he tries as much as possible to focus on his own feet, on his lap, on the floor. Even so he had glanced at Rey long enough ago. So that you can see the physical difference of the man since High School makes his appearance much better. His work keeps Rey's body strong. There is no doubt about it, and most women will find it very attractive.
But not me. Kikan said to himself. He should not admire or be interested in the man at all.
"You'll heal with a smaller scar if I stitch it up" Dr Harris said.
"It's not about. I'll be fine." He said, "I also have another scar."
