Chapter 43's

Kikan spent the last three days making bracelets. He has so many orders to complete. He also wakes up early to clean the trailer and cook a healthy meal for his mother, in the evening he comes to Devan's office to check other orders, get in touch with the buyers, get in touch, and wrap the things he has finished. And luckily Devan was good enough to allow the packages to be delivered with Devan's office address, which saved Kikan a lot of time. Now he no longer needs to ride a bicycle to the city to use the internet or to send goods.

Late on Friday night, Devan came and saw Kikan still using one of his computers.

"Wow, it's almost 21:00" Devan said, "I thought you'd come home and forgot to turn off the lights."

" No, sorry I'm on a lot of orders. But I'm almost done. I have to go home and make three more bracelets."

" Tonight? it's a weekend. Don't you want to have fun?"

" I took Jason to breakfast, and it was fun." Jason hasn't told her if her father will join them, but Kikan has told her son that he can take Rey.

" Your son played really well last night."

A warm feeling flowed into Kikan's body. Jason had sent him an SMS about this, saying that he attacked the opposing team, scored and they won. Kikan regretted missing it. He could leave his job for it. There was nothing more important to him than Jason. But he didn't want to disappoint Jason's grandparents or anyone else by coming back, considering it was a home game.

Kikan promised to come in the next game, his show will take place outside the city on Tuesday. Now he just needs to find a way to get there. It takes sixty minutes to get in the car. Jason has said his father would love Kikan to hitch a ride, but he can't imagine spending that much time alone with Rey. He hasn't seen or been in contact with Rey since the man got into a fight with Logan. As Kikan knows, Rey is angry about dragging him into the matter, though Kikan does not expect, or ask him to do what he has done.

" I'm so proud of Jason." Kikan sends his last email and turns to Devan. "You're not going to the next game?"

" What's on this Tuesday? No. I have a meeting that's not yet over when the game starts, and the location is far.not worth the trip there."

Kikan.

" why? what's up?" ask Devan.

" No" said Kikan. "Just curious"

" Do you need to borrow a vehicle? I have an old pickup that my foreman wears. You can wear it if you want."

" Thank you, but I don't have a SIM."

" Rey will come." said Devan.

" yes. Maybe I'll go with him" Kikan murmured.

Devan certainly heard the sarcasm because he looked at Kikan more sharply. "He won't mind. I'm sure he'll like it."

" Of course he'll like it" Kikan said with a laugh.

" Right." said Devan.

Devan certainly doesn't know. "It's gonna create gossip all over the city." Kikan.

" Not really, you're the mother of her child."

" I'll consider that."

" What about your efforts?" devan asked as Kikan picked up his things.

" It's in demand. I don't know why, but my bracelets seem to sell well among young people, I'm having a hard time fulfilling all orders, but that's good, because I need money. And now I can contribute to Jason's upbringing. Rey always had to endure it all, so I'm happy to be a good partner now."

" You're so nice" Devan said with a smile.

" Thank you. I'll be home soon so you can lock it."

" I'll go have a drink outside with some friends tonight if you want to join." Devan raised his hand, "Don't worry, this isn't a date, just an offer from a friend."

" Who else is coming?" ask Kikan

" Rey and her gang's friends."

Kikan twisting eyeballs. "Rey doesn't want me to get into his friends' neighborhood."

" He doesn't want you to be close to his single male friend, me" Devan said.

With a laugh, Kikan walked out while approaching Devan. "Thank you, but I don't think I'll go. Have fun."

" All right." Devan replied "Tomorrow Saturday, so my employees are off. But I can leave the keys under the plants at the door if you feel like you need a computer."

" If you don't mind, I'll be very grateful."

" No problem, I'll make you a duplicate key tomorrow when I get to town."

with a smile and a nod, Kikan stepped out onto the street, but Devan called out to him.

" Can I take you home while I'm going to dessero?"

" Dessero is going the opposite way home" said Kikan.

" It's okay.it only takes a few minutes and this will make me feel like a gentleman."

" I helped you then?" kikan said teasingly.

Devan laughs. "If that's what you have to believe to agree with."

It was already dark and there were no streetlights lit in the area where Kikan lived. Kikan made this trip three times a week.it did not take long, but....

" Okay," said Kikan, then let Devan put his bike behind the pick up.

But once at home and Devan has returned home, Kikan finds it difficult to focus on making bracelets. His hands are tired, his back hurts. And he kept thinking about Devan's invitation to dessero. He has not gone that far since he got out of prison, and he was not too old for a walk before being arrested.

Just sitting somewhere listening to music and drinking cold drinks, it sounds fun.Maybe Kikan can ride his bike, sneak around, and look for a comfortable corner.

The first concern is whether he will meet Logan here. Kikan couldn't have been where Logan was there too. Because as soon as you see Kikan, the man will start throwing tantrums.

But after looking around the perimeter of the full bar, he felt safe. He didn't even see Devan and his friends. Kikan looked at the clock, almost midnight. It took him a long time to decide and ready to leave, they must have gone home. Kikan was quite relieved.

There is another reason to feel relieved, Kikan said to himself as she straightened out the pretty dress Devan gave her. Kikan didn't want to be considered following Rey wherever the man went.

I was so happy to have decided to enjoy this adventure. Kikan was sitting in the corner, he wasn't expecting much tonight. Kikan just wants to see what it's like to be here.
