Her mother showed hostility again, but there was a sulking tone in her voice that made me aware of the fear in the depths of the woman's heart. Lis's mother believes Rey will try to rid her of Kikan's life, so she tries to get rid of the man first.
As soon as Kikan found that consciousness, the urge to avenge his mother's attack of words soon vanished. Turning off the stove to cool down a little, he walked over and sat down opposite his mother.
" What are you doing?" his mother nodded at his breakfast pot, as if not understanding why Kikan did not serve it. "Something wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?"
" Because I want to make sure you pay attention to my words."
" I've watched you before. Didn't I talk to you?"
" Well, but I'm talking doesn't make sense. I'm not leaving you, no matter what. Did mom understand? I-I wouldn't-go anywhere. Even if I go back with Rey." After all, Kikan wasn't sure it would happen, unsure where the experience they shared in the blue lake would take them later. "No, even though I'm moving out of this small town someday. I will always be your son and I will always do whatever I can to love and help you. Maybe what I'm doing isn't going to be what you like," Kikan made his point clear, "But I'm not going to leave you like my brother did."
A wrinkle appeared on Mother Lis's forehead as she showed an expression, "What are you talking about? I'm not afraid of that. I don't care if you really leave me," Bu Lis snapped, but those words clearly showed a lie so Kikan didn't take it seriously.
He bit the inside of the cheek so as not to smile. "Well, you'll never get rid of me, whether you like it or not" she said, realizing how much sweeter her mother's attitude was afterwards.

Kikan is agitated, but he doesn't want Rey to know exactly how agitated he is. As soon as Rey picked him up, Kikan showed an attitude as if the home game was no different from any other match.
" Hopefully Jason's game is good" Kikan said.
Rey put one hand on the steering wheel. "Sure, his luck is good."
Kikan rubbed his palms on his shorts, then searched for lip gloss in his small bag. Actually he wanted to bake more biscuits for the team, but since he was away all weekend, he didn't have time. Kikan is too busy chasing the bracelet order.
" Are you okay?" Rey asked, glancing at him.
" Of course," Kikan replied with a smile.
" My parents will attend, but don't worry about it."
Don't you worry about that? Kikan's stomach immediately felt hot due to acid caused by his anxiety. "OK, but... did they know I was coming?"
" yes. I told them, so they're not gonna do anything that makes you uncomfortable."
Being around them alone made her uncomfortable, but even if Helen and her husband held a dagger at her, Kikan would only reply with a smile or look away. He did not want Rey to get involved in a fight with her parents, did not want to be in the middle of the man and his family. Distracting the all-important relationship in Rey's life is not the embodiment of love, but the embodiment of sheer selfishness, and Kikan knows that.
Rey turned off the radio. "Everything will be fine. Trust me."
Kikan let Rey grab his hand. "When did Via come to town? Have you heard?" ask Kikan.
" I think my mom called this morning, she's coming on Saturday."
"So fast?"
" yes. They're urging him to come as soon as possible."
" Before I managed to instill my grip on you," Kikan muttered.
Kikan's breath was choked. "Thul? why?"
" Because it might be important, it gives us a chance to plead" Rey said.
" Defense?"
" I'll tell you later. You're coming. My mother has agreed to involve you."
Kikan had already accepted the fact that he most likely would not meet Via again, so he was unsure how he felt now face to face with the woman. Just thinking about Via had aroused his anger, old anger and the futility of that anger. And it's even worse. It used to be very difficult to deal with the injustice that had befallen him, and now that he had come home, he had to listen to Via's lies again?
" What have they promised Via?" ask Kikan.
" What do you mean?"
" He couldn't possibly want to come back here. If you lie like him. I won't come to this place again."
Rey sorted her forehead. "Whatchu mean? you think Lori's family bribed her?"
" Unless Via begins to believe his own lies. Or she hopes to be the center of attention again. He must have had a reason. I've already served my sentence, so the goal is definitely not to punish me anymore."
" That's why we must be present. To know everything. So... What did you say?" Rey looked down so she could see Kikan's face. "It won't be easy to deny it, but I think we have to deal with it" Rey said.
" Why?" Kikan asked. "They'll believe it, like all this time. What they really hope for is convincing yourself."
Rey squeezes Kikan's hand. "He won't be able to, Kikan. That's not what I came for, it's been a long time that everything has changed. I wish we could get the truth out of him."
Kikan did not even dare to hope, not after all the letters he sent to Via were never returned. And not after he had prayed for so long would a miracle descend, which ended in vain. "Hows it? How can we make him confess?"
" I'm working on that" Rey said.
They pass through iron shops, drink vending machines, clothing boutiques. "What did you say?"
" I don't want to tell you first, don't want your expectations to soar in case they fail. But I don't want you to worry too much either. They won't be in the wind as they think."
" What are you talking about?" Kikan.
" You'll see."
Kikan frowned as he looked at Rey. "Tell me," He urged, but they've turned into the grounds of Jason High School.
" Just trust me" Rey said, parking the car.
Rey got out of the car, but Kikan couldn't keep up. Not immediately, so Rey turned around and opened the door for him.
" I'll always be by your side" Rey said. But it could be said it was worse. They made the announcement that they were back together. Kikan was worried that everyone would glance at the lyrics to him.
Closing his eyes, Kikan took a deep breath and exhaled quickly. "Hopefully Jason can play well" he said. Then get off the car.
