Luckily Rey's parents didn't see Kikan. "Who are we going to fight today?" ask Rey's mom.
"Team Blue Star" Rey replied.
"They're pretty tough, aren't they?" mother said
"Yes." Yeah." Answer Rey
"Jason can handle them" Rey's father said after finishing a chat, and joined them.
Rey wishes her father was right. He was always worried about his son. There are so many games that depend on the scorer of points. It was a huge pressure, especially since Jason hoped to be accepted into university thanks to his basketball scholarship.
But today, there are other bigger things to worry about, and Rey realizes that when she sees a woman trying to hide herself behind her hat. Rey wonders if Kikan has seen both of her parents. And so Rey tries to take her parents' eyes off her.
On the other hand, Kikan felt that his stomach was so turbulent that he thought he was going to vomit. He kept telling himself that everything was going to be fine, he had a reason to be present at this match, but who could guess what would happen?
No matter how much his fear of being recognized and underestimated, Kikan was far more afraid that his arrival would be an embarrassing event for his son. He could not imagine Jason would not invite him again if his presence actually caused a stir.
Kikan pulled down his hat in the hope that it would not be seen or recognized, then he sat as far away from the home crowd as possible, along the edge of the opposing stands. Where he can watch his bike. He did not have the key to lock his bike and did not want his bike stolen. He doubted that anyone would try to take the bike because the price was not much, but if they knew the bike was his, it was expected what they could do.
Taking a deep breath, he looked up at the field and saw Jason on the pitch warming up. The boy looked very mature in his team shirt. Kikan smiled as he sat on his chin and listened to the loud calls from the audience to support their respective favorite teams.
Fortunately, no one from the audience seemed to care about him. He did not cause turmoil even in the home crowd, if Kikan continues to be lucky this way the whole match will take place well.
Kikan could see Jason constantly looking at the audience bench as if he was looking for someone making Kikan wonder if the boy was looking for him.
Kikan waved to catch Jason's attention and the boy returned his entourage, looking very pleased.
After the first half was over, Kikan walked over to the guardrail. Approaching son.
"I brought you a little meal" he said as they met at the guardrail. "But you probably already have" Kikan said
"I can eat more" Jason approached to receive it. "Trims"
"I'm really happy to see you compete today" Kikan said.
Jason smiled broadly at his mother. "Hopefully my game isn't ugly."
Kikan put his hand in his pants, with a pretty blue top that became his favorite. "Of course it won't, I hope the game goes well, it doesn't matter to lose or win. For me to see you fight alone has made me happy."
Kikan stood a little longer, he could see Jason much more clearly when he stood this close. "You can" muttered Kikan. And then he saw Rey sitting right opposite him, wearing the same baseball cap he was wearing. Kikan was not sure but he suspected Rey was looking at him because the edge of the hat covered the man's face. But not only Rey who was looking at him, Rey sitting with Devan, as well as Rey's parents, Kikan has seventeen years not met Mother Helen and Mr. Andi stinson. but he can recognize them right away.
Kikan came out of the audience to talk to Jason and it made everyone know his identity.
Feeling too conspicuous, Kikan removed the guardrail. He had not even realized from earlier holding the fence so tightly, and forced his feet to return to the remote place he had chosen. Kikan guessed that if he did nothing else, in the end people would take their eyes off. Then he tried to ignore everything other than the match.
Kikan may have managed to calm himself down but then he had a chance to see the commotion and, unavoidably. Looking at the glance with an anxious look towards Rey. Rey's mother began to move closer to him, but Rey stood in her way and held her arm.
Kikan could not hear them, but he knew they were arguing about him and it raised his self-awareness and worry. Should she leave? people began to observe Kikan and whisper. Even Jason, who was playing, stopped to look at them as if the boy knew exactly what was happening.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Jason didn't say much after arriving home after the game. That is understandable.
Rey invites her son to dinner, and serves the soup that has been heated. But he refused to serve the potato parchment that his mother had given him even though it was their favorite food.
Rey is angry at her mother for her reaction to seeing Kikan in the stadium. Because of that and the commotion caused by his grandmother, Jason became restless in the basketball area before finally being pulled from the game, worse, they lost.
"Do you want to add more? rey asked as she watched her son munch on the food gloomily.
"No"
The coach got Jason home later to talk about his poor game, no doubt so Rey had to keep her son feeling less guilty. "You're okay!"
"I'm fine"
"So it must have been hard especially if you couldn't concentrate on the match"
Jason is silent, and Rey assumes Jason will spend his dinner in silence. But the boy suddenly said, "I feel sorry for Mom! Doesn't anyone care that she might be innocent at all?"
Rey doesn't want to argue about it anymore. He used to believe Kikan was guilty, He couldn't prevent Kikan from going to jail. But now that Kikan is back, Rey has the same doubts and sympathies that Jason felt. "Your grandmother doesn't have to make a troublemaker so. Kikan has every right to be there."
"Really! I invited him! but grandma thinks it's okay to hate him" Jason said in an annoyed tone. "I saw how angry Grandma was when Papa didn't let her approach Mom. Mom had to leave the field."
