Second Chance

Fiona woke up with a fresh face, although she had just slept for a few hours, but she felt her sleep was very comfortable. Fiona stretched her body before getting out of bed.

As he was about to get out of bed, his eyes suddenly rounded and his mouth opened. He just remembered that Steven was staying at his house. With quick steps Fiona walked into the bathroom, washed her face, brushed her teeth after that straight out of her room.

He wants to ask Steven to come home soon, before Leon comes to pick him up for work. He doesn't want Leon to misunderstand him until he finds out Steven's staying at his house.

He did not want to hurt Leon who had been very good to him. Moreover, he had promised Leon to learn to love him. Leon does know that Fiona still loves Steven and can't forget him.

That's what she knew when she expressed her feelings for Fiona. Initially, Fiona refuses because she does not want to hurt Leon, but in the end she is devastated by the persistence of Leon who continues to try to get his heart.

Fiona decides to accept Leon and is soon engaged to him. He thought, by accepting Leon, he might forget Steven, but he was wrong.

He had thought that he would be fine as long as he did not meet Steven, but it made him even more tormented.

The news of Steven's matchmaking news with Sonia makes the wounds he initially struggled to heal, re-gaping after Fiona saw the news. He was again depressed.

Fiona steps quickly towards the living room, but she she doesn't find Steven's whereabouts. He started to panic, where would Steven go if he wasn't in the living room. Fiona heard a sound coming from the living room.

Fiona decided to check it out. He was immediately shocked when he saw Leon, Reynald in the same room as Steven. "Sister Rey, Brother Leon, I-I can explain everything. It's not what you think, Steven... He's just...." Fiona looks so panicked that she gets nervous.

The three people in the living room immediately turned to Fiona who was standing near the sofa occupied by Steven. "Fio, calm down" said Leon gently, "sit down."

Fiona looked at Steven for a moment then turned to look doubtfully at Leon. Right now, he was worried that Leon and Reynald would think a no-no to him. With a slow step, Fiona walked towards the empty sofa that was beside Reynald, but Steven first pulled Fiona's hand so that she sat down beside him.

"Steve, what are you doing?"

"Sit here." Steven held Fiona's hand when he was about to move seats.

"Fio, sit there, it's okay" Reynald said.

Fiona hesitated for a moment after that, she decided to stay seated next to Steven. "Fio, I already knew Steven was staying here, he called me last night when he found you after you suddenly disappeared" Reynald said.

Fiona feels guilty for disappearing suddenly and does not inform Reynald and Leon when she returns home. "I'm sorry Brother" Fiona said, lowering her head.

"Fio, there's something I want to talk to you about." Leon stood up and approached Fiona, "follow me for a moment."

Steven glanced at Leon as he extended his hand at Fiona. "All right." Fiona accepts Leon's hand and follows in his footsteps from behind.

Steven couldn't take his eyes off Fiona once they got inside. "Steve, I heard you're getting married to the daughter of Liang Group, is that true?" Reynald's question led Steven to turn his eyes to Reynald.

"It was my mother, she wanted the marriage" Steven honestly said.

Reynald tapped his finger on the armrest of the Sofa while staring flatly at Steven. "If Fiona wants to come back to you, how do you convince your mother to take Fiona back? Isn't it as long as your mom doesn't like Fiona?"

"My mom never hated Fiona, she had a reason why from the beginning she was against our relationship. I can definitely make my mom take Fiona back."

In fact, Steven's mother did match Steven to Sonia because she didn't want Steven to suffer constantly from not being able to forget Fiona.

Reynald turned one corner of his lips. "Have you forgotten that I'm his cousin? How can you be suspicious and jealous of me?" reynald asked with a scornful face.

"Having more feelings for cousins isn't wrong. Isn't there no prohibition for a cousin to marry his own cousin? At least I have a reason why I should be wary of you. Because you once had feelings of love for Fiona," Steven said with a flat face.

Reynald hissed while smiling mockingly at Steven. "Looking at your current attitude, you seem to love Fiona so much, but I thought, how could you be so stupid as to let go of Fiona when you almost had her" Reynald said.

Steven stared down for a moment after it turned to look at Reynald. "It's my fault, I admit it, but, in the present I won't hurt her anymore."

Reynald grunts. "I envy you so much, even though you've hurt Fiona, she can't even get rid of her feelings for you. Even a perfect woman like Sonia bends her knees to you, you're amazing."

The atmosphere had already begun to melt, no longer as tense as before. "If you like Sonia, go ahead and chase her. I'll help you gladly if you want to approach her."

At least I can reduce one of my rivals.

Steven stared intently at Reynald. He certainly knew that the person he was referring to was himself and Fiona. "I'm just kidding, don't look at me like that" Reynald said, "your gaze is very intimidating to others, it's just that no one dares to be with you."

"Reynald, today, I'm going to solve my problem with Fiona so please give us some time together."

"Alright, I'll ask Fiona not to work today." Aside from Steven's request, the reason Reynald allowed Fiona not to work was because he also wanted Fiona to rest today.

"You guys done talking?" Reynald turned his gaze when he saw Fiona and Leon return to the living room. They both returned to their original seats.

"Here you go" replied Leon briefly.

Steven stared inten at Fiona who looked very sad. Her face and nose were flushed with puffy eyes. Steven thinks Fiona must have cried.

"Then we say goodbye." Reynald turned to look at Fiona. "You don't have to work today, just rest at home" Reynald told Fiona.

Fiona turned to Reynald. "But Brother, I'm fine."

"Today you're here, solve your problems with Steven. Give him a chance to talk to you."

Leon stand. "We say goodbye, you're fine here. Don't think about anything else and remember my message" Leon said.

"Okay, be careful on the road. I'll get you guys up ahead." Leon and Reynald leave Fiona's house after saying goodbye to them both.

Fiona returned to the living room. Steven approached Fiona who was already sitting before him. "Fio, is Leon angry that I'm staying here?" What Steven had in mind when he saw Fiona cry was that Leon must have been angry because he had let her stay the night.

Fiona shook her head weakly. "No. Brother Leon is not angry."

"Then why are you crying? Is anyone sick?" steven asked as he lifted Fiona's chin when he saw her looking down.

"I'm fine."

Steven let out a smooth breath. "Fio, I want to correct my words last night when I said I wouldn't bother you and I'd let you go." Steven stared into Fiona's eyes, "I can't take you off, please give me one more chance. I promise I won't hurt you like I used to" Steven continued, clasping Fiona's hand.

Fiona fell silent. "I told Leon and Reynald that I would fight for you again" Steven said, "so I beg Fio, don't stay away from me. Please give me a chance to prove my love for you."

Fiona was still silent, she looked down again when she saw Steven's pleading gaze. "I already know that you still love me. Reynald told me everything so you can't dodge it anymore. Let's start all over again Fio, just give me this one chance" please Steven.

Fiona raised her head with teary eyes. "But what about Sonia? Aren't you getting married soon?" fiona asked with a trembling voice.

"Sonia already knows how I feel about you and she says she doesn't mind if I cancel our match if we get back together" Steven said.

"If it's Leon's problem, he also said he doesn't mind if you come back to me again" continued Steven.

"Yes, I know. He told me that too." Fiona raised her head looking into Steven's eyes. "What about your mother?"

"You don't have to worry about my mom, I'll talk to her if you want to take me back. Mama will definitely support my decision."

Fiona was silent for quite a while, while Steven seemed anxious waiting for a response from Fiona. "I beg Fio, come back to me. I need you so much, Fio. I really can't live happily if I'm not with you" Steven said, clasping Fiona's hand.

Fiona thought for a moment. "Alright, but I beg you not to hurt me again" Fiona said in a soft voice.

Steven immediately pulled Fiona in his arms after hearing Fiona's reply. "Thank you Fio, thank you for accepting me back" Steven said with a happy face.

Fiona nodded in Steven's arms. "Yes." Yeah."

Steven parsed his arms and looked at Fiona. "I'm so happy Fio, finally my struggle is not in vain."

Steven then briefly kissed Fiona's lips. "Thank you, Fio."

"Steve." Fiona hits Steven on the shoulder because Steven kissed her all of a sudden.

Steven smiled as he pinched Fiona's gnarled cheeks when he saw her blushing face. "Hand, after this, come with me somewhere."

Fiona frowned. "Where?"

"To my hotel."
