Rejection From Steven

"You don't talk nonsense, Steve. Of course you want to make her your daughter-in-law."

The smile on Steven's face instantly disappeared after hearing his mother's words.

Steven glanced at Sera who seemed to blush in embarrassment then turned to look at her mother. "Ma, don't spoil our friendship with this matchmaking," Steven said slowly.

Steven's mother has memorized the character of her son, the more he compels, the stronger he will oppose it. That was what had been making their relationship stretch because they often argued so he preferred to speak with a cold head.

Steven's mother looked in wonder at her son. "What is the lack of Sera? She is beautiful, smart, her career is good, her family background is clear, her attitude is kind, loving, understanding and most importantly she always accompanies you in your difficult times."

Steven looked down, exhaled and looked back at his mother. "I know, Ma. I'm sure Sera can get a better man than me. We are close, but that does not mean our relationship can continue to the next stage. Mama can't force Sera to marry me either."

Sera's face immediately changed, there was no more sweet smile that had once adorned his face that was now only a disappointed face.

"You don't pretend you don't know, Steve. Sera has liked you for a long time. You should know that he's been waiting for you for years." Steven's mother's face was starting to harden.

"Yes, I already like other women," Steven replied steadily.

"I'm just waiting for the right time to tell Mama."

"Then, you'd prefer that woman over Sera?" ask Steven's mother in a high tone.

"Steven, don't you forget, what sacrifice did Sera make for you? Your debt to her, with what's more you repay her than to marry her," Steven's mother said angrily.

Sera who had been silent, finally let out her voice. "Tante, stop. I'm it's okay. Don't force Steven again. Let her think calmly," said Sera gently as she held Steven's mother's hand. He tried to calm Steven's mother.

"You don't want to keep caving in, Sera. Until when will you be quiet? Would you like Steven to marry another woman?" Steven's mother held onto his chest that was starting to hurt.

Steven stood up and rubbed his mother's back. "Ma, relax. Your heart disease can recur if you continue to be angry" Steven said in a soft voice.

Steven's mother raised her head, looking at her son with an annoyed face. "It's all because of you."

"alright. Ii'm sorry. Don't be angry anymore. Better Mama get some rest. Don't be so stressed. I'll go first." Steven left the dining room without waiting for a response from his mother.

"I'm sorry, Madam." Erick bowed and caught up with his boss. Erick just kept quiet and listened as Steven and his mother argued.

Lately, his mother's health has been frequently compromised, which is why Steven chose to leave and was unwilling to argue with his mother.

"Steven, where are you going?" his mother shouted in a high voice. Steven ignored his mother's call and chose to keep going followed by Erick behind him.

"That kid, the more stubborn you are."

"Tante, relax. Let it go, don't be too hard on him. He'd stay away from me if Aunt forced him too much."

"You're this, too good for him."

"Auntie wait here first. I'll talk to Steven for a moment" Sera said as she stood up.

"All right."

Steven who was just about to get into the car immediately stopped his steps when he heard Sera calling him. "What's wrong?" Steven stood facing Sera while putting his hand into his pants pocket.

"Steve, don't be mad at your mother. He didn't mean to force you. Understand, your mother only wants the best for her child. I'll talk to him later so as not to continue to urge you" Sera said softly.

"Yeah, I get it. After having a conversation with my mom, go home. It's night. I'll have Nick drive you home later."

Sera was the only woman Steven treated gently and kindly. Other than her, Steven would be cold and indifferent to any woman who approached him.

That is why, many misunderstand the relationship between the two of them. Steven's attitude looks different when with Sarah compared to all the women who chase and approach Steven.

It's no secret that so far, many have tried to lure and chase Steven so that he can be his companion but nothing has worked. All along everyone knew that Steven was very difficult to approach. He doesn't even like being touched by other women.

"Sir, are we going back to your apartment or mansion?" erick asked when he had just come out of Steven's parents' mansion.

"Back to my mansion." Steven closed his eyes while leaning his back and head.

Erick glanced at his boss from the rearview mirror. This is the first time Steven has argued with his mother about a woman.

Upon arrival at the mansion, Steven headed straight to his study with Erick. "Sir, you should be honest with Miss Fiona about your feelings. That way you can introduce Miss Fiona to the mistress" suggested Erick.

Erick is the only person who knows and knows Steven's nature and knows about his boss's personal life. Only Erick becomes his interlocutor when he needs a friend to chat with.

"But not all women are sensitive, sir. Miss Fiona, ", Erick said. "I don't think he's even aware of his own feelings" Erick guessed.

Steven turned around and sat down in his chair. "Rick, prepare for a press conference in a few days. I will reveal my true identity."
