Waiting for Certainty

Today, Fiona is awaiting a decision from Steven about the continuation of their relationship. At this time, Fiona is in her house, more precisely Sarah's house. After her return from Steven's parents' mansion, Fiona goes straight to Sarah's house after contacting Cindy and saying she's coming home.

He accidentally doesn't come home to Steven's apartment because he wants to calm his mind. Even she was already preparing to move, in case Steven decided to cancel their marriage. While contemplating, the door to his room was knocked from the outside. With a slow step, Fiona walked towards the door and opened it.

"Fio, there's Leon downstairs" Cindy said after Fiona opened her room door.

"Yes, I'll be down in a minute."

"Yes." Yeah." Without asking much more, Cindy left Fiona's room heading down.

Yesterday night, after arriving at her home, Cindy asked Fiona what had happened to her so that she suddenly went home without even being escorted by Steven. With sadness, Fiona finally tells Cindy everything. After hearing what happened to Fiona, Cindy immediately felt sorry for him.

After putting on some polite clothes, Fiona went downstairs to meet Leon who was sitting in the living room alone. "Sister, how did you get here, weren't you out of town?"

"Cindy told me you were here" Leon replied. When hearing from Cindy that Fiona suddenly went home. Leon decided to go straight back to his town.

Her forehead frowned when she saw Fiona's face look pale after she sat on the single sofa right next to her. "Fiona, are you sick?" ask Leon.

Fiona smiled forcefully. "No. I just don't sleep, brother." Fiona has been unable to sleep since returning home from Steven's parents' mansion.

When she gets home, Fiona sends Steven a message, but it's not answered. The next day, Fiona contacts Steven several times to inquire about Steven's decision about the continuation of their relationship, but is never appointed by Steven. In fact, none of his messages were answered until nightfall.

This day, Fiona just stayed in the room and didn't go to work. Fiona seemed to have no spirit of life when she thought of the worst possible thing she would receive today. Tomorrow is the day that their proposal will be held, but Steven has not yet announced his decision.

"Fio, I have something to talk to you about. Come with me out for a while" Leon said after a moment of silence.

"Fio, I know what's going on with you. Staying here will only make you more stressed."

Fiona cradled for a moment, after which she said, "Alright. I'll let you go with Cindy's mom and sister first."

Fiona walked in after seeing Leon nod. After saying goodbye, Leon invites Fiona to a place they used to visit when they were trying to calm down. That place is their favorite place if they are saturated or need calm.

Leon looked at Fiona who was looking straight ahead at the river with a beautiful view of the city at night. "Cindy told me everything." Leon broke the silence after seeing Fiona just silence without saying anything.

Fiona who was sitting next to Leon, immediately looked down with a slick smile. He was laughing at his stupidity, hoping that he would be happy if he chose to be with Steven.

"Sister can not be trusted," said Fiona Lirih.

"She's worried about you, which is why she called me."

Their closeness long ago, made Fiona feel comfortable when she was with Leon. In the past, only Leon was the one person where he told stories, spilling all his complaints.

"I know." Fiona looked back to the front after taking a quick glance at Leon.

Instantly Fiona turned to Leon with a surprised face. "At first, I thought Steven's parents were the girl's parents, but after hearing their conversation, I found out that they were the girl's lovers, that's none other than Steven's parents," continued Leon again.

When hearing about Fiona's accident from Fiona's father, Leon goes straight to the hospital. There, he sees Fiona's father sitting with a worried face while across them are Steven's parents and Gwen's father.

Leon continued to be in the hospital until the surgery was completed. He even saw Mr. Halim talking to Steven's parents and Gwen's father but back then, Leon couldn't hear anything due to their long distance.

"Then, why didn't you tell me from the beginning when you found out about my relationship with Steven?"

Leon exhaled a subtle breath, staring down at the guilty face. "Because back then, I saw you so happy when I was with her. I can see that you love her very much. I don't want you to get hurt if you know the truth."

Leon plans to tell Fiona but doesn't have the heart to destroy Fiona's happiness. As long as they get to know each other, only then does Leon see Fiona very happy. His face was radiant, looking more lively and radiant. Although many men like Fiona, but no one has ever been able to make Fiona fall in love other than Steven.

"I thought I could live happily if I chose her, but it seemed like it was just my wish. His attitude instantly turned cold to me after knowing the truth, but at least, I knew that he still loved that woman. It turned out that my guess was indeed true that he wanted to protect me for being just sorry for me." Fiona lowered her head to hold her voice that started to shake.

"Tomorrow should be a happy day for me, but it looks like our proposal will be void. He didn't even give me any certainty until now, even though I've said that today is a determination about our relationship" Fiona continued.

Leon rubbed Fiona's back when he saw the woman beside him shed tears. Leon no longer made a sound, he just let Fiona let out her tears that he had been trying to hold back.

"Then, what would you do if he didn't give you assurances tonight?" leon asked when he saw Fiona was calm after wiping her tears.

"I'll cancel tomorrow's application and meet him to end our relationship" Fiona said, looking ahead.

"Fiona, if she doesn't want you, there's still me who will always be there for you. You must know that I will never leave you. Come to me whenever you need a place to lean."

Fiona turned to Leon with a smile. "Thank you, Brother."

Leon takes Fiona home after taking her to dinner first. Leon knows that Fiona won't be able to eat if she's facing a tough problem.

"Where have you been, don't you see what time it's been?" Sarah stops Fiona's steps when she's about to get past her.

"Maaa, don't start again" Cindy interrupted before her mother wanted to open her mouth again.

"Fio, come into your room" Cindy ordered, looking at Fiona who looked still grim.

Fiona nodded then stepped up the stairs towards her room. He glanced at the clock on his phone screen which showed it at 11 p.m. When he was about to put his phone on the nightstand, a message came in from Steven's mother.

[Fiona, your application will continue tomorrow. Steven has agreed to it so prepare yourself for tomorrow's event. Don't think of anything. Everything's gonna be fine. Don't worry.]

Fiona reads repeatedly the messages sent by Steven's mother. After replying to Steven's mother's message, Fiona decides to go to sleep. He was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief. At least he's been getting reassurance, though not from Steven.

Since Fiona has not heard from Steven yet, she is determined to solve their problems after their application is over so that their relationship improves again.
