"Where are we going?" Fiona turned to Steven who seemed to be focusing on the screen of his phone
He turned his eyes to Fiona. "To my mansion," Steven replied as he turned to Fiona.
"Steve, mom...."
"She's not your mother," Steven quickly cut.
"Yeah, I know, but she took care of me and raised me anyway. At least, he's still kind enough to take care of me who's not his son. I will still think of her as my mother, even though she never loved me" Fiona said in a soft voice.
All this time, he often thought, maybe he was not the biological child of his mother, seeing how his mother treated differently to him and Cindy. His mother loved Cindy very much, different from him. Her mother never showed her affection, even if only a little. Fiona once asked her father the possibility that he was not their son, but his father immediately denied it. Fiona did not dare to ask her mother for fear that her mother was angry.
"It was due to Mr. Halim's coercion, otherwise, how could he have taken care of you and raised you."
Fiona looked down with a sad face. "Steve," call Fiona.
Steven looked at Fiona who seemed to want to convey something but she hesitated. "What's wrong?"
"Where do you know that my mom's not my real mother?Did he tell you?"
"No. I told Erick to investigate you the first time we met," Steven replied.
Fiona's eyes are growing. "Why can you ask Erick to investigate me?" fiona asked with a surprised face.
"I just want to know. It's weird for me to see a mother treating her child harshly while you're grieving. Moreover, he doesn't stop blaming you for your father's death."
"So, you've known for a long time that I'm not your biological child?"
"Hhhmmm," Steven murmured as he nodded.
"Why didn't you ever tell me?"
"I don't want to interfere with your family's problems, but the longer your mother's going to be, the more outrageous she is, so I can't keep quiet anymore. I can't see you being hurt by him" Steven explained as he looked into Fiona's eyes.
"It's here, sir," said Erick, looking back.
Steven and Fiona's conversation stopped. "Come down." Steven opens the car door and gets off, and so does Fiona.
All his bodyguards had just arrived, their cars lined up behind Steven's car and they were gathered not far from Erick.
Steven turned to Erick and said, "Put 5 guards here, the others back to my parents' mansion."
"Good, Master"
"And tell them to shut up. Don't let my mother know about this" Steven told Erick.
"Okay, sir," Erick said as he nodded.
"Wouldn't you go to the office today?" erick asked before Steven walked into his mansion.
"I'm going to the office after talking to Fiona. You can wait in my living room or workroom."
"Good, Sir."
Steven then stepped in with Fiona. He escorts Fiona to the guest room she used to wear. "Come in" Steven said after opening the door.
Fiona nodded, following Steven's footsteps from behind.
Steven sat on the single sofa that was in the room while Fiona sat on the edge of the bed. "Now, what do you want to know? I'll answer all your questions" Steven said, staring at Fiona.
"Mama said, I was born because of my birth mother's affair with papa, is that true?" Actually Fiona felt a little embarrassed discussing that. To him it was the disgrace of his family, but he wanted to ascertain the truth.
"No," Steven replied briefly.
"But how did that happen? Did papa have 2 wives back then?" Fiona still does not understand at all the past of her parents.
Steven stared at Fiona for quite a while. He was thinking how to convey to her that she was not too surprised to find out in fact that she was already an orphan after she was born. "Sit here." Steven patted the long sofa beside him.
Fiona immediately got up and sat down next to Steven. "You must remember, before I tell you the truth, don't blame your father. He did this for you."
Fiona nodded quickly.
"Actually Mr. Halim is not your real father. Your mother married another man until you were born. Your mother died after giving birth to you and your father died before you were born. Before your mother died, she asked Mr. Halim to raise you...." Steven told me everything. Starting from Mr. Halim in a relationship with Fiona's biological mother until finally Fiona was made a child by the family of Mr. Halim.
Fiona seemed very surprised to hear all the truth. Several times Fiona seemed to ask Steven questions. His eyes began to glaze over as Steven was done telling him everything. After knowing everything, Fiona's feelings get mixed up right now. "So, all this time you didn't know that?" ask Fiona.
Steven nodded. "He won't take care of you if he finds out you don't have any blood relation to Mr. Halim, so Mr. Halim isn't telling the truth."
According to Fiona, Mr. Halim's life is very sad. Trapped and betrayed by the same person. Not to mention, she had to take care of the baby girl she loved after her departure
He never thought that Mr. Halim was not his father. The affection she got from Mr. Halim was so abundant that Fiona never suspected anything.
"Madam Sarah never even regretted her actions. She is a reckless woman and justifies all means for her goal to be achieved. He could've gotten rid of you if you got in his way. That's why I forbid you to go back there again. Better, you live independently. Don't go back there."
Fiona wiped away her tears that had already dripped hearing that. "Where else should I go, Steve? I don't have anyone anymore" Fiona said with a sad face.
"There's still me. I'll take your father's place to take care of you."
Fiona shook her head while looking down. "No, you better not come near me. Maybe it's true what mom said that I'm a son of a goddamn carrier. The proof is that my father died before I was born, my birth mother died from giving birth to me, and my father died when he wanted to meet me quickly. I don't want anything to happen to you because you're related to me."
Steven tilted his seat facing Fiona then said softly. "Listen to Fiona, in this world there is no such thing as an unlucky carrying child. All of this has become destiny. It wasn't you who made them die."
Fiona is back. "Why did everyone I loved leave me? What exactly is my fault?"
Steven stood up and sat right next to Fiona. "Cry, don't be arrested. I will always be by your side and will never leave you" Steven said, hugging Fiona.
Fiona did not reply, she just cried in silence, all that was heard was a sobbing sound. Her tears kept falling on her cheeks. Satisfied in tears, Fiona releases Steven's embrace.
"rest. From now on you can occupy this room," Steven said.
Fiina shook her head strongly. "Steve, I can't stay here" Fiona said in a soft voice.
"I'm not allowed to go back to that house again" Steven said firmly.
"But I can't stay here forever. I don't think it's appropriate that I stay here."
"I'll find you a new place to live, while you're staying here first. After all, I don't live here, so you can freely stay here without feeling disturbed by me."
"But, Steve, I've signed a contract with my mom."
"What letter of agreement?" asked Steven curiously.
"If I'm going to marry Leon, it's also my inheritance transfer file."
Steven was surprised. His eyes slightly enlarged after knowing that. "So you really want to marry her?" ask Steven in a high tone.
"Mama forced me, Steve," said Fiona, looking down.
"Don't marry her. I will face your mother if she dares to force you again. Your legacy issue. I'll take the file back. I'll make sure you get all your rights."
"It doesn't really matter that the treasure is owned by the mother. He has been taking care of me all this time. Let's just say it's in return for accepting me and raising me."
"I'll keep taking it. You deserve it because it belongs to your mother. If later, you want to give it again willingly, it's up to you, but not this way. He should know, not everything he wants he can have."
Money is easy for Steven. He can give more to Fiona if he wants. It was just that the treasure belonged to Fiona's mother so she had to return it to its original owner.
"Steve, you've helped me too much, I don't know how to repay your kindness anymore" Fiona said in a low voice, looking down. Fiona was embarrassed to always depend on him.
"There's actually one thing I want from you."
Fiona immediately raised her head looking at Steven with a curious face. "What?"
Marry me, Steven. "Later, if the wine is right. I will say my wish" Steven said with a serious face.
"Why should I later? Why not now?" fiona Cecar.
"Because I have to make sure of something first. I'm afraid you can't fulfill my wish."
"Tell me first, I'll try to fulfill it if I can" insisted Fiona.
"I don't want you to do it because you have to. I want you to do it because you want it too."
Fiona's eyebrows are intertwined. "When are you going to say what you want?"
"Let's talk again. I have to go to the office." Steven stood up. "Go back to work, I'll pick you up. I'll call you later."
"Where are we going?"
"Meet me dinner at my parents' mansion."
Seriate...
