Rejection of Fiona

"Good morning sir" said Erick and Doni simultaneously. Erick and Doni stand in front of Steven who looks to be sitting while staring at the focus on his phone.

This morning, Steven told Erick to call Doni to him. "Hhhhhhh." Steven raised his head after putting the phone in his suit pocket.

"Do you know why I'm calling here?" Steven stared flatly at Doni who seemed to be standing upright.

"No sir." Erick did not tell Doni anything because he himself did not know why Doni was called by Steven. Last night, he was fired by his boss.

Steven rested his body on the living room couch. "You can get back to work."

Erick immediately glanced at Doni and then turned to look in wonder at Steven. Hiring people who have made mistakes is out of Steven's habit.

Doni looked a little surprised. "Fiona, beg me to hire you again" Steven said.

"You're the only person who's made 3 mistakes but can still work with me. You have to remember, this is the last time I forgive your mistakes. If, not for Fiona. You won't be able to work with me anymore. So, this time you have to do your job well. Never make a mistake again."

Doni nodded immediately. "Good Sir. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work again."

"In addition to Erick and Jorsh, you're one of my confidants. You have to remember, not just anyone I assigned to look after Fiona. It's an important task that you have to do well, no matter what happens, you just have to take care of it. Don't do anything else when I'm not around. Fiona's more important than anything."

"Okay sir, I understand."

"Now tell me, what has my mother told you?" ask Steven to Doni. Steven recalled the reason Doni wasn't on the tempo when Fiona left.

"Madam asked me to investigate Miss Fiona's case."

"Other than that?"

Doni seemed to hesitate for a moment. "Mrs asked me to arrange a meeting with Miss Fiona."

Steven was silent for a moment, looking like he was thinking. "You don't have to investigate Fiona. Erick's gonna say whatever you need to tell my mom" Steven ordered.

"And, don't ever set up Fiona's meeting with my mom. I'm gonna go see my mom and tell her straight away not to see Fiona."

Doni nods. "Good sir."

"Doni, whatever my mother tells you, tell me. Don't ever try to betray me, if you don't, you will know the consequences."

"I wouldn't dare betray you Sir. I'll always be as loyal to you as I've been all this time."

"Good." Steven then turned to look at Erick. "Rick, is Fiona's apartment ready?"

"Already Sir. I made sure of it last night."

"All right, you wait for me outside."

Erick and Doni nodded and walked out. Not long after, Fiona approached Steven in the living room.

"Fio, come here" Steven called as Fiona prepared to go to the office.

Fiona then sat down next to Steven. "Today, you're moving into your apartment. I'll ask Erick to bring your personal belongings there later. So, after work, we're going straight to your apartment."

Fiona's eyes immediately sparkled. He was happy to have lived alone. "Thank you Steve."

"You look so happy? Are you happy that you're free from me?" Steven glanced with a suspicious look at Fiona. Steven doesn't seem to like seeing Fiona happy about moving.

Fiona flanked Steven's arm with a smile. "Don't misunderstand Steve. I'm actually happy to live here, too. It's just that you know, we're not married. I don't want any bad rumors."

"Listen to Fiona, don't even think about inviting a man into your apartment, for whatever reason, especially when I'm not around. This goes for all your male friends, especially for Leon. I'm still upset that you went with him without my permission, so don't make me angry again."

"Yeah, I get it. I'll never put a man in my apartment, including you, either" Fiona joked.

"You dare forbid your future husband to enter?"

"You said I can't put a man in my apartment."

Fiona immediately chuckled to see Steven who seemed to be getting angry. "Yeah, I know. Don't be angry anymore. I'm just kidding."

Fiona smiles and kisses Steven on the cheek "Thank you for the apatemennya," Fiona immediately left without waiting for the reaction of Steven who seemed a little surprised.

"Ayoo Steve, I can be late later" Fiona said again when she saw Steven had not moved

During the day when Fiona is about to eat out with Cindy, Fiona is shocked by the arrival of someone she never expected. "Can we talk for a minute, there's something I want to tell you." Steven's mother approached Fiona when she had just exited the elevator in the main lobby.

"Good Aunt."

"I'll wait in the car." Steven's mother took a quick glance at Cindy and walked out of the building.

Cindy turns to Fiona after Steven's mother's departure. "You know him?" ask Cindy to Fiona.

"She's Steven Kak's mother" Fiona replied quickly.

"Why did he meet you at the office?" Cindy catches the suspect from Steven's mother.

"I don't know either, but I have to talk to him. I'm sorry, brother, I can't accompany you to lunch."

Cindy holds Fiona's shoulder. "It's okay, go." Fiona nodded then followed Fiona's mother.

At a restaurant, Steven and Fiona's mother are seen sitting opposite each other. "Fiona, I'll get to the point. I won't waste your time." Steven's mother looked seriously at Fiona. "Do you really love Steven?"

"Yes, I love her so much" Fiona replied without hesitation.

"Do you want to see her happy?" ask Steven's mom again.

"Of course" Fiona replied quickly.

"In that case, I'm asking you to end your relationship with Steven immediately and stay away from him."

Fiona looks dumbfounded. He was silent for quite a while, looking at Steven's mother's face questioningly. "I mean Auntie?"

"Leave Steven and never show up in front of him again."

"I'm sorry Aunt, but I can't. There is no reason for me to leave Steven. I know that I am not equal to him, but I will try to prove to you that I deserve to be with him" Fiona replied with confidence.

"Fiona, it's not a matter of whether or not you're with my son, but your relationship won't work. Honestly, I don't hate you. I don't mind your family's status either" Steven said.

"Then what's the problem? Give me a good reason why I should stay away."

Fiona of course can't just obey Steven's mother's request, even though she's asking him nicely.

"The reason is because that person is you. I'm doing this for your own good, especially for Steven. In the end, you're the one who's gonna get him hurt. You don't know how big it would have been, if you'd hurt him." Steven's mother seemed to be talking quietly.

"Steven, looks hard on the outside but his heart is very soft when it comes to the woman he loves. You can make my son's life a mess until you hurt him. I know my son very well, so I can tell you this. Therefore, please stay away from his life before it is too late."

Fiona was silent for a moment trying to digest Steven's mother's speech. "I promise I'll never hurt her. I can make sure of that."

"Fiona, in fact you've hurt my son. I don't want it until you hurt him again. The wound you inflicted first, may not have dried up. Maybe it's not entirely your fault, but indirectly you've taken away her happiness. Before his feelings get deeper on you, please let him go. I'm sure you can easily get another guy easily."

"I never hurt Steven at all."

"That's because you don't remember. Maybe you don't know. I won't explain, you'll have to find out for yourself. All I'm asking is to stay out of my son's life."

My decision will not change, except Steven who wants to end our relationship. I assume this conversation never happened." Fiona stood up after grabbing her bag. "I'm sorry I have to go."

"If that's what you want. Alright. I won't protect you anymore. You'll regret it yourself."
