The Hunter System

The Hunter System
Chapter 130 - Lowe Frostman

Just like Mina's guess, Alvin discovers there are many hunters in a foul-smelling basement located near the wall.

They gathered together into a special cell made to withstand the attacks of magic.

'What should I do with them? I wanted to free them but I didn't know they were sane or not Alvin said, looking at the empty gazes of the hunters.

From the smell and shabbiness of their clothes, as well as from their bodies that only remained bones, he guessed that the hunters must have been in prison for a long time.

["I agree with you."]

'Tsk... This makes me go wrong. Had the Association in this city been straight...'

"Are they hunters?" asked Vina, who had been embracing Alvin's arm, while covering her nose with one hand because she could not stand the stench that filled the room where they were.

"Yes." Yeah."

Alvin looked at Vina's face, which had the height of her shoulders, and then released Vina's embrace on her arm.

Instead, he embraced Vina's body by wrapping an arm around her brother's shoulder to make the frightened-looking Vina feel a little calmer.

"Let's go back upstairs. Jack probably knows what to do with these guys" Alvin said.

......................

There are stacks of documents, laptops and pc that Jack, Raymond and Thomas are transporting to the outside of the castle.

They stacked the items together for Jack to bring to the City T Association and send to the Central Association afterwards.

Their findings are nothing but secret documents and Lewis family crime documents that will expose the rottenness of Norman Lewis, the manipulative dictator.

Alvin also tells Jack the location of the dungeon he visited so that Jack can follow up on what the Association should do to the hunters in there.

At Alvin's suggestion, Jack also contacts one of the team leaders of the S City Association, Loman Griffin, whom Alvin values might be able to work with him to take care of the captives.

"Is there nothing left in there?" ask Alvin to Jack.

"none. But..., what about the CCTV footage? You want to take it or destroy it?"

"Bring it up."

"You're not afraid if the Central Association sees it? They'll probably catch you."

Alvin smiled cynically, "Just because of that. I look forward to meeting with the chairman of the Central Association. Anyway, why would I destroy the CCTV footage? I've released workers who could have testified, right?"

Jack looked at Alvin in silence, then let out a long sigh.

After Alvin made sure there were no more people inside the castle, he finally burned and blew up the Lewis family castle.

Jack, Raymond and Thomas are still inside the Lewis family fortress, waiting for an invitation helicopter from the T City Association that Jack pinta.

......................

After all his dealings with the Lewis family were over, Alvin took Vina with him to the Maxwell family residence. He wanted Vina to stay there first to calm down before returning to City T.

.........

As they were already around the gate, Alvin was shocked to see that the mesh he had hung above the gate had disappeared from there. Instead, the corpses of all the young hunters whom he had not wanted to kill in the first place, had been scattered in front of the gate, killed with severed limbs.

'Who killed them?!'

["Throwing your prayers."]

'uh? Didn't I...'

["You said kill all the hunters, right? He did his job until it was done."]

'...'

Vina looked at the pile of corpses that were still some distance away in front of them with a horrified look. He looked up to look directly at Alvin's face.

Alvin returned Vina's gaze. He wanted to say that the one ahead of him was not his doing. But, upon his thought, it also included his deeds as the praying mantis moved at his command.

"No. Just this time," Alvin remembered Brondy and The Destroyer and continued, "There may be two more."

"Yes?"

"Two more people. Not two groups."

"Don't turn out to be a mean person like the Lewis family, ok?"

"I'm not..."

Vina frowned when Alvin did not continue his words and turned to the direction where Alvin was staring intently, at a man who had just entered through the gate of the fort on foot.

"Let's go" said Alvin quietly.

Vina nodded then went to follow Alvin to the gate, where fragments of teenage hunters scattered.

.........

"Sir, miss...., what's going on here?" asked the man in his mid-40s who had just arrived at the place when he passed Alvin and Vina, after he had just passed dozens of teenage hunter corpses.

He also gazed into the distance, where thick black smoke rose from the ruins of the Lewis family castle.

Alvin looked at Lowe Frostman who was watching his performance. He saw the man's facial features instantly changed when he saw the amount of blood drying on both palms, as well as splashes of blood on his jacket.

'Who is this? It's like I've seen it somewhere.'

["He was in front of the gate of an S rank Dungeon in City T."]

'...Ah. yep. I remember it now.'

.........

Lowe Frostman went straight to City S early in the morning from City T.

Because he happened to be around S City, he planned to stop by and check on the state of S City which had been closed for decades from the Central Association.

Lowe, who had recently served as team leader of the Association branch's supervisory division, was suspicious that something had happened to City S until they broke away from the Central Association. That's why he came to check on her. Such an examination was already his responsibility.

But, by the time he arrived at City S and went to the Association's office, he had already found things untrue to the Association's hunters. The chairman who should rarely leave the office is also not in the office from morning until noon.

Lowe eventually requested Norman Lewis' address to the Association's secretary and he finally arrived at the Lewis family fort.

Lowe was shocked when he saw the chaos that lay along the road to the fortress. There are a lot of bodies there. His shock grew even more so after seeing the many corpses of teenage hunters who immediately greeted him after passing through the gate.

.........

"You can ask the Association hunters who are near the castle" Alvin said. He then clasped Vina's shoulder and invited her to leave the place immediately.

Lowe nodded slowly.

As Alvin walked past him, Lowe spoke again.

"Wait a minute, sir" Lowe said.

Alvin turned to her while looking at her carefully, thinking the hunter might want to hold her back from leaving or instead want to look for trouble at her.

"Are you okay? I can call in a medical if you're hurt" Lowe said.

Alvin was a little surprised. He had not expected precisely such a question to come out of the mouth of an S rank hunter, unlike most S rank hunters he knew.

"I'm fine" said Alvin. He then nodded slowly and left the place.

Lowe did not immediately turn away. He stared at Alvin's back for a long time when he was amazed by his movements that seemed not to be disturbed by the corpses that were lying around the area, even though he was not a hunter.
