The Hunter System

The Hunter System
Chapter 20 - Goodbye

Alvin had only returned near the gate after he had also done magic crystal mining and put all the corpses of the monsters, which he had previously left in a hurry, into the inventory.

.........

When Alvin was already a bit close to the Dungeon gate, the Hunter System asked Rimi, Intelligence System, to, to disguise Mana Alvin's rising energy was quite drastic after he crossed the level 45 boundary and gained a new job as a Mage.

"So Rimi can disguise Mana's energy as well?"

["Yes. You just have to ask Rimi."]

"You guys are really great. Isn't that just a skill that S rank and SS rank have?"

["If it only hides Mana energy, Rimi can help since you're level 21,"]

["You can also do it yourself with just 'your wishes' when you're at level 71. You didn't need Rimi's help at the time."]

......................

A few minutes later, Alvin finally arrived near the Dungeon gate, where Miranda and her men were still there.

Seeing the appearance of Alvin again, Miranda and the hunters who were eating their provisions while waiting for the time to pass a few more hours, of course surprised.

Especially when they saw the condition of Alvin's armor that was badly damaged like it had just been through a very heavy battle. Because of the damage to the armor, they did not even realize that it was a different armor than the one Alvin wore when he entered the Dungeon earlier.

They had intended to wait a few more hours before exiting the gate and reporting that the Dungeon was a B rank Dungeon and would report that Alvin died there because he was too weak to face 1 monster only.

.........

Hunter who had made a small commotion with Alvin in front of the gate, stood up and went to him.

He then spoke with a displeased look, “What are you doing? Why are you back?"

“Why if I come back? I should have asked, why are you just sitting here?"

"You!"

The Hunter was about to come forward to hit Alvin, but he undoed his intentions when their gazes met.

Seeing Alvin's sharp gaze behind his blood-soaked face mixed with dried mud and dust, he felt somewhat horrified to see it as well. Especially at the aura of Alvin that felt even more terrifying compared to when they were outside the Dungeon earlier.

“His gaze and aura were truly terrifying. Is he really an F?" his inner. He felt very strange because the aura he felt was very different from the Mana energy on Alvin which was very low. That's not very suitable.

Alvin walked past the hunter and went to Miranda.

Miranda also stood up as she continued to stare at Alvin with great anger.

“I didn't ask you to come back, did I? Why are you back?”

“Didn't you ask me to see things in there? I did that order and then came back. What harm?"

“What?”

Miranda looked at Alvin. His armor was indeed filled with many torn marks like pierced sharp weapons, but he did not see Alvin suffered any injuries at the location of the damage to the armor.

“What are you doing on this borrowed armor? Do you want to make a drama like you've been attacked by a vicious monster and escaped out of the Dungeon?"

Alvin was surprised when he heard the idea. However, he finally smiled bitterly upon seeing the appearance of all the hunters who were now standing around him.

He realized that all of the fairly wealthy hunters were wearing borrowed armor from associations of poor quality, not expensive armor of good status as good-earning hunters usually wear.

Their armors are also seen torn here and there to look like they have been fighting monsters.

"Just adding the wounds on the body, their theatrical plan will definitely work," Alvin thought.

Alvin looked back at Miranda, your “Ide is really interesting. I will also tell them that you all have died here, sacrificing yourself so that this weak me can escape."

Miranda and the several hunters around her were stunned, before finally laughing out loud.

"Are you crazy? You think I'll let you out just like that?”

["If you want to beat them like you want, do a guerrilla battle in the forest. Many of them are C-rated. You'll be in trouble when they gang up on you,"] The system suddenly speaks, on the sidelines of Alvin and Miranda's conversation.

'I understand.'

["Act their anger to pursue you."]

'You turned out to be sneaky as well.'

["Tsk.., just do it."]

'Rimi, do you know how much longer until the gate closes?'

<20 minutes>

After hearing Rimi's reply, Alvin finally responded to Miranda's remark.

“I don't need your permission" said Alvin. He then looked at the surrounding hunters one by one and continued, "You need permission from me if you want to survive from here.” He then closed his sentence with a wide grin.

Seeing the grin that showed as if the man really believed his words, of course, made Miranda furious.

"Stop him!" Miranda's orders to his men.

The one who first attacked Alvin was of course a D rank hunter, who had a fuss with him outside the gate.

From the back, he immediately attacked Alvin with his kick.

Alvin could already guess, the hunter who looked so dislike him would definitely be the first to attack him first if Miranda had already given the order. So, even though the attack came from behind, he already knew and immediately avoided it.

Following System's suggestion, Alvin ran towards a forest not too far from where the hunters had gathered.

Outraged by what Alvin said earlier, of course, the hunters immediately chased after him. Moreover, Miranda had also given the order to pursue.

"Catch up and kill him!"

["Your strength and speed with the Warrior job are only able to fight against four of them. Don't be lured into a fight when you meet more than four bullies."]

"I'm hardened..."

"What?! Finish off?"

Alvin hurriedly called out the quest window.

.........

.........

Alvin was very surprised to see the subquest, also when he saw the punishment if he failed to do so.

At first he had no intention of killing Miranda and her followers. He had already killed Brondy and Lawrence's man-hunters in another Dungeon. Days later, he had nightmares and deep regrets.

Laughing system. Her laughing voice was very cute, like the laughter of a little girl.

["Looks like Rimi's starting to like you too. He doesn't want you to harm them again in the future."]

Alvin nodded slowly. He also did not want to lose all of the jobs and Mana energy he had earned with great difficulty.

"There's only 15 minutes. I will use the hidden skill of the Mage job."

["That will save time. You just need to gather them in one place. They'll die immediately."]

"..."

Alvin slowed his run until the hunters who were chasing him were at a close enough distance, Alvin suddenly turned around and used his poison skill.

Wush...

Dark purple smoke poked from both palms of Alvin.

The smoke grew increasingly thicker and covered the surrounding area until the pursuing hunters became trapped inside.

In addition to using poison skills, Alvin also uses an innate skill from his Mage job, ice magic, which freezes the bodies of the hunters.

["Your intuition is getting better. You're getting good."]

"Tsk.., you praised me a lot today. I just don't want them to run away from there. My poison skill influence radius is still within 10 meters, right?" sahut Alvin, while staring at the blackish purple mist that was in front of him.

From within the fog, he heard the roaring roar of the hunter-hunters who had started to feel the poison skill reaction.

"This Skill is too sadistic" said Alvin, shivering in horror at the grim groans of the hunters in the smog.

Laughing system.

["They deserve to die. They don't deserve to be called hunters."]

"You're terrible."

Upon hearing the notification from Rimi, Alvin immediately turned away, leaving a thick poisonous mist behind him.

He also reopened the subquest window to check the progress of his quest.

"Success 19 out of 20. Crazy, they die in less than 1 minute."

["That's because they're one level below you. The time needed will be longer if they are ranked B, especially above it. You should also raise the level of the poison skill. Because at the present level, the poison is still counterable if there is an A rank healer there."]

"I understand."

......................

Miranda was a little shocked when she saw Alvin coming out of the forest.

"Where are they?" miranda thought, when she saw none of her followers come out of the forest.

"What are you looking for?"

"You managed to escape from them?"

Alvin lifted both shoulders, "Come on. Dead, maybe?"

Miranda furrowed her brows. He realized something was wrong. He thought, Alvin must have checked the location of the monsters when he left earlier.

"You... Did you take them to the monster's location?"

"You're worried about them?"

Miranda grinned. "where possible. If they die, I'll just find a replacement."

Alvin grunting.

"Listening to what you just said, I don't think I'll be too sorry to kill you."

"What?" Miranda laughed loudly. "You think an F rank Healer can kill a B rank Assassin like me?"

Alvin only smiled faintly when he heard that condescending sentence, before he spoke back.

"It's kind of weird. As a professional hunter don't you have a keen instinct? Don't you realize there's something wrong here?"

Miranda stared intently at Alvin. He felt something was wrong, but did not know what it was. Not wanting to bother about it, he then pulled out a dagger from behind his waist.

"Tsk... You'll see how an Assassin's instincts are in killing someone" Miranda said, licking her dagger before advancing.

Miranda's running speed as a B rank Assassin was indeed very good.

However, he did not know that the opponent he was facing right now was a B-rank hunter as well, who had quite good vision capture, although Alvin could only see the greatness of Miranda's shadow.

But, that's enough.

Alvin saw the shadow of Miranda's body running around him. He sharpened his senses, and turned quickly to welcome Miranda's attack, which had previously intended to attack from behind.

Stabs... Stab...!

Miranda directed the two daggers in her grasp at Alvin's back.

However, Alvin who could already estimate the direction of his opponent's arrival, had already turned around and managed to catch the two daggers.

Although Alvin cannot avoid the attack, Miranda is surprised when Alvin can quickly catch both daggers.

Miranda pulled back her dagger from Alvin's second hand, then jumped back.

'Damn, why do I feel any danger from this loser?'

Miranda put up the horses to attack again, while activating her best skill.

Grinning widely, he licked the blood Alvin had on his dagger and spoke back to give time to exert Mana energy on his skill.

"You made a mistake" said Alvin, as he watched Miranda lick the blood on her dagger.

Alvin saw Miranda's habit of licking her dagger. Therefore he deliberately caught the dagger, so that his blood stuck there.

Miranda did not touch Alvin's words and was about to strike again before she realized her tongue was suddenly hot.

Shortly thereafter, the burning heat spread down his throat, also slipping down to his chest.

"Ap...what's going on?" miranda murmured. He felt his head also start to get dizzy and his vision started to blur.

Shortly after, Miranda dropped both daggers as she felt her tongue conical and pulled into her throat. Feeling the pain that was very very there, he held his neck with both hands, then fell down when the heat had also reached his entire body

"I'll take this for a souvenir" said Alvin, who was near Miranda to pick up his daggers.

"Akh...!"

Miranda was about to curse, but she was no longer able to speak due to the poison that had numbed her tongue.

"Goodbye" said Alvin, who then thrust the dagger into Miranda's heart.

["Let's get out now. The gate's already starting to close."]

"Yes." Yeah."
