The Hunter System

The Hunter System
Chapter 69 - The Heavy Fight Against the Assassin

After meeting Billy Cruz, Alvin was pensive for a long time in his room. He did not even eat the dinner that Vina had prepared for him and kept himself locked up in his room until late at night.

After midnight, Alvin finally goes to his new warehouse after Mina asks him there to work on the order Vina gave him.

There were many orders that Mina had to fulfill after Rufino's company tied many cooperation contracts with raid equipment distribution agencies in several cities.

While waiting for Mina to work out the rest of her unfinished orders, Alvin conducted her weekly and monthly quest within the warehouse.

It was only in the morning, before Vina, Raymond, Thomas and their workers came, that Alvin finally left again for the Dungeon. But, this time he chose to cross over to City U, because he no longer wanted to reduce the ration of the gate for City T's hunters.

Alvin kept raiding for the whole day. He did a raid from the high-ranking gate first, B-rank, until finally spending as much as possible the C-rank gate in City U.

Finished doing the raid, Alvin called out to Raymond and his men. They will take care of all the corpses of monsters and permit in and out of the city to the border guard officers.

As for the magic crystal, Alvin put everything into the inventory, to reduce the load of the transport truck. After all, no matter how much magic crystals were mined, it was not a problem since the inventory had an infinite storage portal for one kind of item.

From City U, the next day, Alvin moved again to City V. In the city, he was a bit lucky because he could find 3 A rank Dungeons and clean up all of the A rank Dungeons.

That's why, Alvin finally got to the level he was aiming for. Level 78's.

This time, unlike before who had always been nervous before taking the quest from Rimi, Alvin quickly activated his level 71 quest even before he had time to have dinner with Raymond and his men.

["Hey. What's wrong with you?"]

"Yes?"

["You've been a little weird the last two days. You're more often moody. Your mind is empty. I'm lacking in entertainment."]

"Here you go, I want to open my level 71 quest gate."

["Wait a minute."]

"Yes?"

["That A rank Dungeon will appear today in City T. You're not helping them?"]

Alvin then remembers Billy Cruz's face and the moment the man ignores him.

Later he found out, one of the gates would appear inside the ZC group's magic crystal processing plant, although he did not know that the other gate was actually in the courtyard of the Cruz family's residence.

Until now Alvin did not know that the two gates were in the territory of the Cruz family.

"Leave it."

["Huh?"]

"I'll be back later to take care of one gate."

After saying that, he waltzed into his level 71 quest gate.

Just like when he was on a level 61 quest, he was now inside a vast hologram room.

Across the circle where he stood, there were 1 hologram creature standing as if waiting for him.

The creature carried daggers in both hands. Just by looking at the weapon he used, Alvin already knew that his opponent was an Assassin-type fighter.

The creature used an ordinary combat set. However, he also wore mock hologram hunter boots like the one Alvin used.

After analyzing the opponent, Alvin immediately went forward to attack without asking for a hint from Mina, as he usually did.

["Hey, you're careless. Why did you attack directly? You could die!"]

Wushh...

Alvin can run very fast with a speed booster from his shoes. However, the hologram creature also has the same shoe, even by utilizing the function of the shoe more effectively.

The assassin suddenly vanished from Alvin's presence as soon as he could almost slash his neck.

The Assassin then appeared behind Alvin and directly attacked his waist.

Sratt... Sratt...!

["Retreat to the circle now."]

Baaaka...

Stabs... Stab...!

Alvin never returned to the neutral circle. The assassin was always chasing, kicking and brutally wounding him.

On several occasions, the Assassin had even chased and beat Alvin before Alvin could fall to the floor.

His attacks were brutal and quick, leaving Alvin extremely overwhelmed and tormented.

Alvin couldn't even see where his opponent was. He only continued to receive injuries and kicks without ever realizing when the Assassin came near him to attack.

Alvin was already so badly injured that he ended up accidentally bouncing and falling into the circle of the neutral zone. That's what kept him from dying.

["You're not focused! What the hell is going on with you? Your mind is even empty these two days. You run weekly and monthly quests also unfocused and do not live it! You're stupid!"]

Alvin lay on his back very lethargic, while hearing the sound of Mina's scolding inside his head.

Feeling frustrated, Alvin finally shouted so loudly that Mina and Rimi were surprised to be made.

["Tsk... Just make it a shock. Calm down first. This quest is timeless."]

.........

Alvin slept in the circle for a long time. He did not even heal all his wounds at all and allowed the pain in his body to remain for hours.

It was only after almost half a day later that Alvin finally sat down and stared blankly at the Assassin who stood firm, waiting for him to return to the battle zone.

"I just feel annoyed with the people from the ZC group."

["Hmm... So thats.."]

"..."

["Therefore you want to become even stronger and want to destroy them? Or do you want something wider? You want to destroy all the rich who take you for granted?"]

"Where do you know that?"

["Tsk... Humans are like that. They immediately held grudges while helpless and then fantasized about destroying all those who underestimated him."]

Alvin was silent for a moment.

"Dam. You're right."

["Of course. That's why you have a yoga quest. You have to practice deeper than yoga to manage your mind. You need him to be a good hunter and killer."]

"Is it necessary to fight the Dungeon monster?"

["No to the present. Right now, you're just going berserk with the skills you have, you're gonna win. But, you should get to that stage later. Our opponents in the future are terrible,"]

["Particularly, Rimi wouldn't have made yoga a quest if it wasn't important."]

"... Y-you're right..."

["But, getting a wound in the heart like that is actually good for you. Think of it as training your mentality. Hehe.."]

"Damn, I'm gonna puke."

["..."]

"..."

["..."]

"Hey... What exactly do you want to say?"

["You'll know later. Just go through the process."]

Sighs...

["That's it. Let's finish this quest first so you can quickly gather all the Hunter Equipment."]

"... Any ideas to fight it? I can't use magic against him."

["I wanted to say it since. But you're attacking him immediately."]

"Sorry."

["That's it. This was much simpler than a level 61 quest."]

"It's simpler but it's a lot harder, right?"

["You're right. But, you only have to fight against him with fighting techniques. Remember all the fighting techniques you learned in your monthly practice,"]

["This quest is very good for training before you face high level monsters later. In fact, all quests from level 61 to 101, are a test to find out how far you have absorbed your weekly and monthly quests."]

["Trust me, when you're already good at fighting without using magic, you'll be much more terrible at fighting with magic."]

["Now stand up and face him. Maximize the use of Mana energy to support your battle technique movements,"]

["Remember, he's an Assassin. He's just an Assassin. You must know the movement and feel the weakness with your five senses then you will win."]

Alvin repeated Mina's last sentence in his mind, before finally standing up and running forward to attack the Assassin.

"By the way, thanks for this new dagger. It's very nice."

["Tsk... It's nothing."]

......................

When his heart calmed down, Alvin could fight much better than before.

Although at first he was still confused to avoid the opponent's attacks, in the end he could compensate for the opponent's speed when he had succeeded in circulating the correct Mana energy for each movement of his body.

Alvin had not managed to lash a single blow at the Assassin for the first half day, ever since they started fighting again. But, he had already begun to be able to dodge Assassin's attacks almost perfectly.

There had been very few injuries he had received from the Assassin's dagger attack and none of his kicks had hit Alvin again.

They continued to fight for two days.

By having a recovery point at his current level, Alvin is not at all worried that his stamina will run out.

Until finally, Alvin saw an opportunity. He's not just looking. His instincts and all his five senses also support that vision.

With just one extremely powerful strike as well as accuracy, Alvin finally managed to decapitate the hologram creature's neck with a dagger in his hand.

"Finally... So this is what's called one hit one kill?"

["Yes. You succeed. Remember this moment. Respond until all your senses and instincts are used to it. Because one day, magic will be useless. Only magic energy and fighting skills are useful."]

Alvin nodded slowly.

["You don't understand, do you?"]

"This time I kind of understand."

["... Goody. You've got progress"]
