The Sight Of Future

The Sight Of Future
Count Ortega

“This is really unfair,” Talia grumbled after Kyle left her alone in the infirmary.

The girl was washing her face with water in a basin provided by health workers. The Chief Professors will reportedly be visiting his room shortly after this. Talia should welcome them with fresh conditions so that her mind is also clear when it comes to arguing later. Talia cannot resign from the Academy.

He had trouble learning magic, and if he could not graduate from here, then all his abilities would only be in vain. All magicians must have a certificate from the Academy in order to use their powers freely. The certificate can only be obtained if he completes all his studies at the Academy for three years. Talia was completely unwilling to give up the opportunity. He was already determined to maintain his position as a student of Ramona Academy.

Shortly after Talia finished getting ready, the group of teachers arrived. A health official escorted them to Talia's room. The girl sat sweetly on her bed with half of her body covered in blankets. He was ready for the conversation that day. However, how shocked Talia was when she saw another person coming with the professors: her father!

The tall, handsome figure with the misty hair slashed back was well known to Talia. Her father's appearance was still the same as when Talia last met him, about a year ago. Even on the day of Talia's departure to the Academy, her father did not return home at all or just send a letter. So why is Count Ortega here all of a sudden? Did the school contact him? And her father just came?

Talia's entire confidence instantly collapsed when she saw her father walking in and standing next to her. Although the father is the only member of the Talia family, their relationship is not close. Within a year, Talia may only meet her father a few times because the Count spends more time working in the capital.  However, now his father was standing firmly next to him with a serious expression.

“How has your condition improved, Lady Ortega?” ask Professor Theia who leads the group. About five people visited Talia, including Professor Rilley, Professor Ursula, his father, and a health worker who accompanied the meeting.

“I'm fine, Professor. The creature did not hurt me at all yesterday,” Talia replied as she was.

“The school has investigated the case of Dirlagraun's release yesterday. The creature was the same animal as the one that had attacked Lord Leopold of the Alchemy Department a few days ago. We have already punished Vrap Clitol for guarding the forbidden magic forest. And thanks to Lord Gothe's agility to kill the monster, there will now be no more threats in school,” Professor Theia explained.

“Vrap Clitol? Faun the guardian of the Beast Tamer Department? But he's not the culprit,” protests Talia automatically.

“All punishment procedures have been carried out according to school policy, Miss. You don't have to worry about that. You better focus on resting and recuperating,” sambar Professor Ursula ketus.

Talia recalled Kyle's earlier message that it was better not to look for trouble with Professor Ursula who was being sensitive that day. His department was again in the spotlight. Therefore Talia nodded obediently.

“Thank you for the attention, Professor,” Talia said short.

“Given how dangerous the incident you have experienced, Lady Ortega, the school immediately contacted your family. This incident might leave a deep trauma for you. Therefore the school will not get in the way if you may decide to return home.” Professor Theia finally said straight to the main point of the conversation.

After hearing an explanation from Kyle, the school did not seem to want a similar scandal to happen again. Since Talia was already a target for Ludwig Gothe, then the girl could potentially cause other problems in the future. Since they could not get rid of Ludwig, Talia was forced to surrender and quit the Academy.

The girl glanced at her father who had been standing quietly by her side, giving absolutely no response to the conversation. Talia was not feeling too depressed anymore now. He must be brave against the demands of these professors.

The three professors immediately looked at Talia cynically. “A person shouldn't be dealing with a wild animal. That's why we understand that you may be too surprised to know how dangerous yesterday's situation was. You better be wise and reflect on the potential dangers that you will face after this,” continued Porfesor Theia still continue to press.

“What does that mean that schools cannot guarantee the safety of students?” challenge Talia not to lose.

Professor Theia was about to explode in anger when Count Ortega finally opened his voice.

“May I speak alone with my daughter?” sela Count Ortega.

Professor Theia's face stiffened. But he finally nodded briefly.

“Please use your time as long as you need, Count,” the professor said later.

Shortly after, everyone came out of Talia's room and left the girl alone with her father. Talia bowed awkwardly, unsure of what to say to the father. Count Ortega took a deep breath and sat down on a wooden chair next to Talia's bed.

“How are you doing, Talia? We haven't met for a long time. I'm sorry that only now can I see you. In these conditions,” Count Ortega said softly.

Talia looked at her shady-eyed father. His father looked tired, although good looks were still left on his face. His dark hair had already been dyed with a few strands of silvery gray in some places. Talia hasn't talked to her father in a long time. Somehow he felt a little overwhelmed because his father still cared about him.

“I'm fine, Dad,” Talia replied as she bowed. His eyes warmed and glazed. He didn't want his father to see his almost crying face. As much as possible Talia held back her tears from falling.

“How is your school?” ask Count Ortega again.

“Everything's smooth. I can follow the lesson well,” Talia said without lying. Well, even though he was punished a few times, it was not because he did not understand the subject matter, right.

“I was shocked when I received an owl message regarding Dirlagraun's attack. I'm in a hurry to meet you. But the teachers were hiding something. Is there anything I should know, Talia, before we decide whether you can stay in school or return to our mansion.”

Talia hesitates to tell her all her secrets, including the fact that she is already the target of Ludwig Gothe. Even so, Talia had absolutely no other way out but to be honest with her father. Finally, with all her resolve, Talia told her everything, except for the fact that she was an oracle.
