"How's your test?" kyle asked Leo as the four companions dined together at the Department Enchanter's table.
Of the three people who had just taken the magic talent test the first day, only Leo had a tangled face.
"You ... messed up .. ," muttered Leo. He ruffled his shiny brown hair into a tangle.
"Are you unable to do the mission?" tanya Talia was full of sympathy.
"No. Not because of that. I did it too well" Leo looked frustrated.
Talia and Kyle looked at each other in disarray.
"He made Excalibur." Susan chimed in a moment ago.
"Excalibur?!" Talia and Kyle squealed along in surprise.
"That legendary sword?" tanya Talia made sure.
"Replica .. ," sighed Leo grimly.
"The most perfect," Susan added, laughing. "Professor Rilley himself praised the sword until all the teachers knew" he continued.
Leo clucked in annoyance. "How do you know everything when I haven't told you anything?" the young man looked at Susan sitting next to him.
Susan pulled a parchment out of her leather bag. "Newspaper. Don't forget I'm a journalist too. Your great sword entered Headline today. The Future Stars of the Ramona Kingdom. You've been ordained a royal blacksmith before you even chose a majoring class" Susan teased as she waved the pages of the Academy Newspaper.
"Sucks." Leo sizzled annoyed and then again ruffled his own hair.
Talia grabs the newspaper Susan brought and starts reading. Kyle also read from behind Talia's back. From the article, it was explained how all the first-rate students in the Alchemy Department underwent their magic aptitude test on the first day. They are given the task of making whatever objects are thought of.
Most children make ordinary household appliances. Few have decided to make a weapon, including Leo. Coincidentally, Leo's weapon was successfully used to destroy other weapons. That's why Leo became the best student in the test.
"I thought if I made a weapon, I might fail. Today, the kingdom is hardly ever at war again. Only Duke Gothe's territory often fought against monsters. I'm sorry Kyle, didn't mean to offend," said Leo still lamenting.
Kyle only nodded lightly, not at all offended even though his surname was brought up. Leo's words are true.
"And I also did not know that all the weapons made would be pitted. It's my fault for having skills beyond my will" Leo lamented uninterruptedly.
"Annu ... Leo ... Why are you upset? Aren't you the student with the best grades?" ask Talia the exchange.
"Of course because I don't want to enter the forging class. I should have done my best during the potion making exam. I will do my best, anyway. But still. If Professor Rilley had judged me this brilliantly in the forging exam, I might have really entered the magic-making class" Leo lamented again.
"Alright, Dean. Diligently forging, those little muscles of yours will probably grow more and more loamy. Let's just say you make weapons while forming a body. Magicians are usually good in stature," comfort Susan as she pats Leo on the back.
"It's not comforting at all, Susan. My skin will burn because it's always in front of a giant furnace. My hands are rough because they keep forging. Never mind," said Leo gloomily.
"Well, thank you, Talia. You're alone. How's test?" Leo asked back.
"So far it's smooth. Kyle made a very fertile patch of Black Rubwort. I think it's the equivalent of a year's worth of crops" Talia's story is amused.
"Well, you also made a lot of Pink Poppy shoots. The alchemists could make hundreds of bottles of love potions after this," Kyle said.
The two of them laughed together considering the events of this morning. There are still three more days of tests for the two of them.
"Looks like you guys are having fun" Leo commented enviously.
Talia and Kyle immediately felt guilty.
"Already, already. We better get to bed soon. There is still tomorrow to live. You still have another test tomorrow. Let's go back to the dorm" Susan said.
Their conversation was finally over. The four friends returned to the dormitory to rest. Talia parted ways with Susan in front of her room. After finishing the bath and changing her pajamas, the girl laid her body on the bed. Due to exhaustion, Talia soon fell asleep.
At first, the girl dreamed nothing. But slowly, the dream came up. Talia was on a seemingly familiar hill. The hill seemed to have been visited, but not in a conscious state.
Talia swept her eyes around, then realized that she was standing on the hill where Kyle had dropped her in the future. Talia was a little shaken because she had to go back to remembering the picture. He then returned to his eyes. The school building is visible in the distance. Apparently this hill is still in the Academy area, precisely across the forest where the breeding of wild animals belongs to the Beast Tamer Department.
Talia explored the hill. He realizes that he is now in a vision of the future that accidentally happened in his dream. Usually this kind of incident happens if something bad will happen to him in the future. A kind of prophecy to make the girl wary.
While walking down the hill, Talia sees a familiar dark-robed figure: Ludwig Gothe. The young man walked hurriedly towards the valley that was behind the hill. Talia ran to follow him.
"That man again" Talia growled as she continued to follow Ludwig.
Not long after, the bright atmosphere on the hill turned dim. Ludwig continued down into the rugged valley at the foot of the hill. The vegetation below is completely different from before. The trees looked dry and even looked charred and smoky. Talia never knew that in the middle of school there was such a place.
Ludwig continued walking without hesitation. Every now and then some strange red-black little animals appeared and ran up to Kyle. The young man stopped his steps every time a fire salamander came. They spoke a language Talia did not understand.
Shortly thereafter, Ludwig stopped in front of the mouth of the cave. Hot air came out of the cave. Talia felt a strange tension when she saw the young man standing up and hissing strange language. Suddenly, the ground in the area shook slowly. A rumbling sound was heard from inside the cave.
Talia retreated automatically, unprepared for anything that might emerge from the cave. But Ludwig stood still. It was as if he was waiting for something. Soon, as the earth shaking and rumbling sounds grew stronger, from within the cave came a monster completely unexpected by Talia, a dragon!
The dragon was scaly black with giddy yellow eyes. As soon as it came out of the mouth of the cave, the dragon flew one round over the sky before finally landing in front of Ludwig. The dragon obediently lowered his head to be touched by the young man. Ludwig spoke the language of the dragon which Talia again did not understand.
Suddenly, the dragon's eyes stared straight at Talia. The girl's heart stopped. Ludwig looked into the dragon's eyes and saw. Talia was getting more panicked because her whereabouts seemed to have been revealed.
"Who's there?" ludwig exclaimed, looking behind his back.
Talia smothered her mouth, speechless. The next second, his vision turned dark. He woke up in his dorm room.
