The Sight Of Future

The Sight Of Future
Fire Spirit

The next day, Talia carried out the activities as planned. He went to school as usual with Susan and Kyle, plus Leo now. The four of them had breakfast together, then parted ways to take classes. At break time they meet again in the secret room while carrying snacks and food from the dining room.

When the final lesson hour arrives, only Talia and Kyle come to the secret room. They both practiced fire magic vigorously. Talia's ability has improved considerably compared to a few days ago. At least now the girl no longer hesitated when she had to ignite the fire in her palm. His energy flow was already more stable as he could already believe in himself.

“Good. Now compact the fireball, then throw it towards the target,” guide Kyle calling for guidance. Now the young man no longer needed to help stabilize Talia's magic energy. Kyle just stood by the girl's side while giving instructions.

Talia did as Kyle ordered. He focused his mind on the fireball in his hand. The fire he made did not feel hot, instead it felt warm and calm. The warmth flowed all over his body, as if he was covered by the fire itself.

After the fireball was at a perfect size – as big as a coconut –, Talia was prepared to hurl towards the metal statue in the form of half a bare-chested male. Leo found the statue yesterday among a pile of scrap in a tool cabinet. Kyle said Talia should be able to melt at least the statue's head to arguably succeed. If he can emit heat that is able to melt metal, then making pterotos into roasted snakes is not difficult.

Unfortunately, maintaining that fire magic was extremely energy draining. Unlike the magic of flowing water, or the wind that moves freely, the fire sihr requires stability and concentration that is not playful. So far Talia has only managed to bake the iron statue for less than a minute. As a result, the head of the statue only turned black from being charred. There are no signs of melting.

“You must maintain your flame for at least five minutes, Talia. Then increase the heat level as well. You actually make the pterotos feel comfortable if only lukewarm so,” Kyle's instructions in an anxious tone.

Talia was bathed in sweat. During this time, he had already spat out flames at least twelve times. But the metal statue refused to melt. Somehow Talia now felt herself to have turned into some kind of combustion furnace. Is this what it feels like to be a furnace?

“Let's take a break first,” Kyle said later. The young man thrust a bottle of drinking water to Talia, who immediately downed her without a second thought. He was tired and angry. The originally air-conditioned basement has now turned hot.

“I'll do it one more time,” Talia murmured while returning Kyle's drinking bottle.

“Alright,” Kyle responded.

Talia raised her right hand. A speck of fire appeared on his palm, then grew into tongues of fire. Talia tried to compress the flame into a glob of circular moving balls. The orange glow from the fireball grew, immediately with Talia's breath. He was fully concentrated and inhaled deep air. Oxygen is the fuel.

Talia tried to visualize the pterotos in her mind. He saw the winged snake monster was coiling on the head of a metal statue. Talia recalled how Ludwig's evil grin, which was intent on harming her, also made Kyle suffer. All of this made Talia angry.

He then thought about how the teachers and the Academy had always defended Ludwig. Though the boy was clearly guilty, but all his mistakes were covered intentionally. Talia recalled Leo's condition of being wounded by a dirlagraun attack, as well as how the same monster had attacked him.

“Are you very angry?” Suddenly a voice sounded in Talia's head.

The girl didn't budge, thinking that the voice might just be her own mind.

“Your atmosphere is very strong. I like it.” The voice in his head was heard again. Talia was a little distracted, but the anger was already too overpowering. Therefore he ignored the sound and only focused on destroying.

After getting the right moment, Talia then hurled his fireball with all her might. Once out of the girl's hand, the fireball magically transformed into a beautiful phoenix with a feather of fire. Talia still extended her right hand to spout fire behind the phoenix's tail. However, when the phoenix attack had just touched its target, the metal statue just melted away. It did not take five minutes, or even a minute to destroy the metal statue.

As soon as the target disappeared, Talia's phoenix roared majestically and flew around the ceiling and flung out without sparing anything. Talia and Kyle looked up with their faces open. Both of them did not expect that Talia's fire magic would instantly increase at that level.

Kyle was the first to come to his senses from his astonishment. The young man spontaneously immediately clapped his hands while looking at Talia proudly.

“Excellent, Talia Ortega. I guess during the magic talent test later, you can be sure you will become a fire magician,” praise Kyle while laughing amusedly because you saw Talia's confused face.

“What ... what happened? Why did I turn into a fire bird?” ask Talia confused.

“You have called the spirit of fire, Phoenix, the firebird.” Kyle explained with a big smile.

Talia's knee feels weak. The girl sagged down to the floor in shock. Ever since she first learned magic self-taught, Talia knew that she was not a fire element witch. Talia is much faster than water or wind magic. Therefore he would probably be better suited to enter one of the two classes. But just now he had unleashed an ability that was even rare among fire magicians: Talia had summoned a fire spirit!

In addition to using the summoning ceremony with the transmutation circle, spirits could also be summoned by enchanters who had strong ties to the element. However, just like alchemists who did not always manage to summon spirits, such a talented enchanter was also very rare to encounter. Maybe only one person in ten years.

Enchanters who managed to summon spirits and tie contracts with them were only magicians with pure energy. Talia obviously knows she has a special ability to see the future. However, he did not expect that he also had pure magic energy.
