The Sight Of Future

Shortly after Talia had defeated the dire wolf, there was the sound of applause from a distance. The sound was initially touched by the sound of a crackling fire that began to burn the forest. But Talia soon realized that under her feet, now a young man stood looking up at her who was flying with his broomstick.

Talia immediately threw her broomstick down to make sure who had given her the applause. However, as soon as his foot imprinted onto the ground, how shocked Talia was. The person he was facing was none other than Ludwig Gothe!

“Good, very good. You managed to beat my dire wolf fantastically. Although now there might be a little commotion, but Lena will take good care of it. Isn't that right, Lena?” Ludwig said as he looked behind his back.

A girl suddenly appeared from behind Ludwig's back. The girl was dark-skinned with curly hair tied high like a spool on her head. After receiving an order from Ludwig, Lena immediately raised her hands and began to control the water in the air to extinguish the fire made by Talia.

The girl gasped to see how Lena could use the water content in the air to extinguish such a huge fire. It only took fifteen minutes until all the fires in the area were extinguished.

“Thank you, Lena. You can go now,” Ludwig's orders once more.

Lena nodded briefly then disappeared again in the darkness. Now Talia only faced Ludwig who stood quietly without feeling guilty.

“You ... sent a dangerous monster to attack me,” Talia muttered after things calmed down.

Ludwig snorted softly and grinned. “It was part of the selection of this Society. Every senior magician is required to test his chosen child to ascertain whether the child is worthy of being a member of Taleodore. But take it easy, the dire wolf actually I told you not to hurt you. He'll only ambush and arrest you if you're scared. I don't think you killed him so cruelly.

“Although I admit that your actions are fantastic. Your strength far exceeds my expectations, Talia Ortega. It is not wrong that I chose you as a candidate for new member,”, Ludwig said at length.

Talia couldn't hide her confusion. “Senior? You ... chose me? What does it mean?” lamia is not sure.

Ludwig stepped around Talia. The young man looked very proud of himself.

“Taleodore secret society recruitment way is like that. The senior magicians who are already members will choose one new magician who will be his successor in the society. They then tested the magician of his choice to determine whether the new witch was worthy of membership,” explained Ludwig who has now walked near Talia.

The girl was getting more and more clueless. “But why did you choose me? Of all the people in the academy, why me? We're not even close enough,” sergeant Talia is still in disbelief.

Ludwig laughed amusedly at Talia's question. “You've caught my eye, Talia Ortega, ever since you noticed me in the library. I know that you are no ordinary witch,” she said with a grin.

“Then I refuse. I came because I got an invitation. That was fun. But if I have to be accepted on the recommendation of a person like .. I mean a person I don't know very well, I feel uncomfortable,” Talia said as she turned away.

“You can't just walk away from here, Ortega. Your token has changed. You are now a member of us. With you coming here, it means you are ready to face all the consequences, including but not limited to the obligation to follow all the rules of the society. One of them is that you can't go out haphazardly,” said Ludwig preventing Talia from going any further.

The girl stopped her steps and glanced at the brooch on her chest and now her rabbit shape had turned into a fierce lion. The pink pomegranate has also turned into a red ruby. When did this change happen? Talia was completely unaware of it. He just gently rubbed his golden brooch while thinking.

“And what happens if I still choose to exit?” later, he still did not want to give up.  

“Well, the worst case can be removed from school. The other members will make sure that your school life will not be easy, ” said Ludwig while shrugging.

Talia breathed heavily. It feels like dejavu. Should he be Ludwig's target again? Even now it may not only be Ludwig who is after him, but other members of the society that Talia has not yet known. Why should he be involved in such complicated things? Talia just wants to go to school quietly, but due to her desire to interfere again in the Gothe family matters, now she has to get stuck here.

If only he had known that Ludwig was one of the members of Taleodore, Talia would definitely not have come to this forest by now. But it's too late. He could only accept his fate of being a junior member chosen by Ludwig.

“Just think about the advantages. Being a member of the society means you get unlimited practice access by the classroom. You can also learn much higher sciences, secret abilities that can only be heard through hearsay. Moreover, all members of Taleodore will also get perfect grades on each subject. We are supported by professors. This is actually a secret,” persuaded Ludwig still has not given up.

It seems like Talia really had no choice. If indeed he had to become a member of Taleodore with Ludwig, it would be good if Talia used it to find the weakness of that person. The safest place is the closest to our enemy. Maybe this could be an opportunity for Talia to read Ludwig's movements secretly.

“Good. Then then. I'll accept your offer. What do I do now?” ask Talia after thinking long. The girl then turned to face Ludwig who was standing behind her back.

Ludwig smiled with satisfaction and walked back to Talia. The young man patted Talia on the shoulder gently while whispering the words in her ear. “Good choice, Talia. You might be able to start learning against dragons now.”

Talia gasps. Losing words. Why is Ludwig suddenly talking about dragons? The girl's heart was pounding, as if her darkest secret had already been revealed. He just looked at Ludwig who was grinning next to him, without being able to reply to the young man's words.

“Come with me. We will begin the welcoming ceremony,” take Ludwig while walking ahead of Talia.
