Talia was standing in the hallway of the second floor of the Beast Tamer Department building. There was no one there except for a gray-haired boy, Ludwig Gothe. He stood in front of a large window on the side of the hallway. Ludwig just stood in silence while observing the connecting field to the dormitory building below. The young man continued to look in that direction as if waiting for something.
Talia walked up to Ludwig and followed his gaze. It was dusk, right at school. The students clustered together out of the school building like swarms of bees coming out of the hive. Most of them walked towards the dormitory. But not a few also went straight to the dining room in the Main Hall of the Academy building.
Ludwig remained silent and observed motionless for some time. The students began to recede. Only one or two groups circled the field. Walking without caring about the fact that someone was observing them from up here. Talia still did not understand about the future she saw. What exactly did Ludwig do?
Until suddenly Ludwig moved and seemed interested in something. He walked closer to the window with one palm touching the glass. Ludwig even grinned vigorously while still observing the field. Talia followed the young man's gaze and found herself walking alone through the field.
With a frown, Talia watched as she walked in droves towards the Dormitory as dusk drew near. The atmosphere was getting dark but Talia could clearly see that it was indeed herself. From Ludwig's changed reaction, Talia believed that the young man was waiting for him in the future to come out of the Academy and cross the field. Butwhy?
The question was immediately answered because suddenly Ludwig again made a movement. Now his lips were moving to something. Talia approached to hear more clearly.
“... now. Kill the woman ... ,” mumbled Ludwig in a low voice.
The killing aura of the young man felt so pressing that it made Talia flinch backwards. Talia who was surprised to fail to control herself then fell down because her legs slipped on the floor of the slippery hallway. Just as his butt touched the floor, there was a shrill scream from down there. Talia knew the sound of the scream. That's sound! Hurriedly he turned to the window and found himself in the future facing a black Dirlagraun three times larger than his body.
“What the heck?” tekik Talia who was surprised to see her future was fighting with a ferocious monster.
Talia in the field is now launching various magic to prevent the attack of the Dirlagraun. The two beast tentacles continued to grab Talia's body. The girl could only brush him off with simple wind magic while the savage beast was already growling, preparing to pounce.
“Now, Beast.” Ludwig's voice sounded very violent. In that instant the Dirlagraun also pounced on Talia's body in the field, without being prevented by anyone. Talia suddenly closed her eyes from the sight of a brush that made her heart so frightened.
His vision darkened again and Talia was back in the library with Ludwig Gothe peeping at the back of his hand. Talia automatically pulled her fingers held by Ludwig. His entire body was still trembling and cold sweat began to drench the nape and palms of Talia.
Ludwig was no less surprised because Talia suddenly pulled her palm from the young man's grasp. He looked at Talia with an elusive expression. How could those same gray eyes like Kyle's have the same very opposite impression? Kyle's eyes felt cold and lonely. While Ludwig's eyes today are so laden with cruelty and intimidation.
“It seems that you are not an imperial noble. Are you the daughter of Count Ortega from a small port region in the south?” ask Ludwig in a voice as gracious as possible. The venomous hospitality.
“I, that's right. I'm just a fringe noble. Forgive my impoliteness,” Talia said stammered.
Ludwig seemed to be smiling with understanding. “Should I apologize, Lady. I have made you feel uncomfortable,” said the young man with a smile. A smile that Talia said was more like a dangerous grin.
“A, is there anything you want to tell me?” tanya Talia immediately asked Ludwig to come to him.
“Nothing special. I just want to get to know my sister's friends. As you know, Kyle isn't an approachable kid. Even so I'm glad to see him having friends at the Academy. Especially after what happened to that alchemist child. I hope you can stay friends with Kyle and treat my sister well,” Ludwig said.
Though you were the one who pushed Leo away from Kyle's side, but what nonsense are you saying now? Thought Talia was trying to hold back.
“Of course. Kyle's not a bad boy. He was just awkward dealing with other people. That is not a bad thing,” replied Talia who began to master her fear. The girl was no longer afraid to face Ludwig after remembering what the young man had done to Leo. Anger made Talia forget her fear.
“Thank God then. I can calm down and let Kyle study comfortably at the Academy,” Ludwig said as he nodded politely.
Talia replied to the nod stiffly. “You don't need to worry,” the answer is short.
Ludwig smiled again hearing that answer. Talia was fed up of seeing the young man's completely insincere smile in her eyes. Even so he didn't say anything more. Talia could only pray in her heart that Ludwig would leave her alone immediately. Luckily, this time his prayer was answered.
“It looks like I should go now. It's getting dark. You better get back to the dorm, too. Lately a lot of dangerous things are loitering in the Academy. You better be careful too, Lady,” continued Ludwig with a faint smile.
Talia did not answer and just nodded slowly to let Ludwig go. The young man turned around and left Talia who immediately fell to the floor with trembling legs. Talia recalled the scene when she was pounced on by Dirlagraun without being able to fight back. The beast was indeed being controlled by Ludwig. Why is he after himself now? What was the reason Ludwig attacked Leo, and now Talia? There was only one thread connecting to this incident. They were both friends of Kyle's. Before it's too late, Talia should see Kyle right away.
