CHAPTER 27. RELIEVED

Varen smiled at his wife's worries. “No need to worry. No one can fire you except your boss! Is Elora your boss? Don't you? You take it easy, he's just threatening you to scare you!”

“Hah? Did ya? But Bobby's the director here and he'll definitely try to get me fired! They don't like to see me working here.”

“You're the CEO secretary. Your boss Verdi is not Bobby! Nothing to do with them!”

“Hahahaha. Why didn't I think about it until there? Hehehe!”

“So you called just because you were worried about getting fired?” asked Varen to hold back her laughter.

“Iya. Am I bothering you?” ask Reina.

Varen smiled faintly as she felt that Reina was not bothering her. But Varen had to leave the meeting only to listen to his wife's whiny heart.

“No. You can call me anytime. Now you feel calmer?”

“Haaaahh! Yes, I feel calmer. I just need to be nice to my boss Verdi who sucks. Right?”

“Ehm...” replied Varen briefly held a smile. Again Reina called him a shitty boss. What would have happened if he had known Verdi was Varen?

“Then I close the phone first huh? Oh yeah, we'll have dinner tonight. See you later tonight.Muaahhh!” Reina unknowingly gives a long-distance kiss and disconnects the call.

Varen chuckled while staring at the screen of his phone. He was relieved that Felix's guess was wrong. Reina is unfocused for fear of being fired not for still harboring feelings due to her past with Bobby.

“It looks like you're happy. Who called you just now?” felix asked when he saw his cousin smiling.

“Reina!” the answer.

“Reina your wife?” asked Felix frowning.

“It. Which one is Reina again?” verdi replied annoyed.

“Oh! I thought Reina was your secretary.”

Verdi immediately gave a sharp look at Felix who immediately laughed, “I was just joking. Why are you so serious?” he said while sitting in front of Verdi.

He looked at his cousin seriously and said, “Until when will you hide your identity from Reina? Aren't you afraid that if it's all revealed he'll hate you for lying to him all this time? Women don't like being lied to!”

Verdi was speechless, he had no intention to hide his identity from Reina but he also could not reveal it now. “If I say it now, grandma will definitely bother him. Let it be for a while like this better.”

Felix sighed, “Grandmother is indeed outrageous. It's made you poor overnight, and he won't admit your wife as his daughter-in-law. Huh! Grandma even always watched me for fear I gave you money.”

Verdi turned his gaze to look at Reina who had already returned to her desk. Felix was right, Samara did restrict everything from not only withdrawing her financial facilities but she also forbade other family members to help her.

“Just make sure my salary is paid accordingly! Because I need money to support my wife!” said it.

After lunchtime, Reina set out to review the project with Verdi and Felix. When they get there Reina's eyes are tainted when she sees Bobby. Reina snorted in annoyance as she saw Bobby steal a look at her “Basic jerk! Shitty!” muttered.

When he realized that his wife was being noticed, Verdi immediately shifted his body to cover Reina so as to block Bobby's gaze.

“So all the problems about raw materials are done?” verdi asked when he saw Bobby stealing his eyes back at Reina which made him upset.

“Already sir.” Bobby nodded quickly.

“Everything is in order and they have also apologized and agreed that they will be responsible for the losses we experienced.”

Bobby is a competent and responsible person in his work. Verdi had to acknowledge the man's ability despite his different attitude outside of work.

It's just that Bobby is too easily affected and less consistent especially in matters of the heart. Evident from the look in his eyes that always stole a glance at Reina.

He himself threw away the woman and chose to marry Elora but now he instead looks admiring her and always steals a look at Reina.

“Pak Verdi. The finishing process there is almost finished.”

“Alright! Let's go there.”

Verdi and Bobby follow Felix while Reina tries to catch up with them with small steps. The woman cursed in her heart because she was tired of chasing the steps of the men in front of her. His chest felt tight because of the smoke and dust caused by workers.

Uhukk! Uhukkk!…..Reina coughed as she passed the worker who was cutting the ceramics. Though he had used a mask but still inhaled also dust. Verdi stopped his steps when he heard Reina's coughing voice.

“Come! You just wait there is not too much dust.” he said while pointing towards the window.

Reina nodded and walked towards the place Verdi had pointed out earlier. Verdi goes around with Felix and Bobby. Hearing Reina who coughed again, she approached Reina.

“Minum! Your throat will be better after drinking.” said Verdi thrust a bottle of mineral water on him.

Reina was stunned to hear Verdi's words, she felt de ja vu staring at Verdi with both of her eyebrows linked, “Varen...” she said then Reina immediately shook her head expelling Varen's shadow from her mind.

She cursed herself for always remembering her husband. ‘Conscious Reina! Not necessarily Varen remembers you!’ whispered heart.

Thank you.” he said taking the water bottle that Verdi gave him. Somehow Reina was too tired or closed the bottle that was felt so that she had trouble opening the bottle. He looked up at his boss with a clear face.

“Other times you don't need to join a project visit like this.” said Verdi took a water bottle from Reina and opened it.

“I'd also rather sit in the office, sir. It's so hot and so much dust.”

“You should have refused when I brought you here.” Verdi said, handing the bottle back to Reina. Regardless of the words of his boss he immediately gulped his drinking water until half ran aground. He's very thirsty.

“Finally relieved also my throat. Thank you sir.” he said.

“Ayo tag! The air there is very comfortable.” said Verdi who accidentally held Reina's hand and led her to make the woman gasp and immediately let go of Verdi's hand.

He feels uncomfortable, “I can walk alone, Sir!”

Verdi was stunned, suddenly a feeling of disappointment as Reina refused to hold her hand. But he understood because Reina did not recognize him. “Sorry!” verdi said walking ahead of Reina.

“Look! It's nice here, isn't it? The air is fresh too!” verdi said as they reached the twenty-floor balcony where they were standing now.

Reina was astonished to see that the view of the city before her was truly beautiful, like a painting. He closed his eyes feeling the gust of wind that hit his face.

“You like?” ask Verdi, please,

“Like what sir?” Reina opened her eyes and asked back.

“This apartment.” Verdi stepped onto the balcony. His gaze is straight ahead, “This apartment is only twenty floors in addition to its good scenery and fresh air is also strategic place. All units in this apartment have been sold out except this one.”.

Reina stepped up and stood beside Verdi then looked at her boss. “Bapak offers this apartment for me?” reina asked hesitantly. He was confused to hear Verdi's words that sounded like a sales property.
