CHAPTER 46. REMEMBER THE GOOD THINGS

After receiving the call, Felix approached Verdi in a whisper. “Grandma is on your pocket.”

Hearing that Verdi immediately stood up making all the meeting participants look at him. Even the employee who was presenting stopped talking and looked at him questioningly thinking that he made a mistake during the presentation.

“Next meeting will be led by Mr. Felix. I want all new project plans to be completed as soon as possible. Regarding the submission of funds, please leave it directly to me at the latest tomorrow morning.” said Verdi swept his eyes throughout the room along the faces of all employees who look curious.

Verdi immediately turned around and left the meeting room with wide steps. Verdi no longer cared about the meeting, he just wanted to make sure his wife was okay. He was afraid that his grandmother would hurt Reina again and make his wife cry. And it turned out that his conjecture was right, when he entered his study he saw his wife down.

Verdi rubbed his face violently, he was furious at the attitude of his grandmother who liked to act as she pleased. Moreover, hearing the words of his grandmother who rudely accused Reina, of course Reina happily left him because his wife did not know that he was Varen. Her grandmother could have used it to get Reina to leave.

Verdi exhaled slowly trying to calm himself. Her smile came in light of Reina's explanation saying she wanted to use the money for business capital with her husband. Verdi's heart was happy, it turned out Reina thought about it and even willingly left Verdi for the money he would give to Varen.

Verdi couldn't believe it when her grandmother said Reina was tempted by money and she was after her property. Seeing Reina's tears drenching her cheeks made her heart ache. She felt uncomfortable every time she saw Reina cry. Verdi had guessed that Reina did not understand the purpose of her grandmother giving money.

In his worry, Verdi cursed the contents of his wife's head that always deviated. Verdi came out of his room and found Reina under his desk, wanting to laugh at his wife's behavior. Maybe he went in that narrow and cried there, Verdi had trouble getting his wife out of there.

Just as he was about to lift the table blocking Reina, his phone shook, he pulled out his phone and it turned out that his wife was crying under the table calling him. Verdi picked up his wife's call while walking away, “Varen. Please pick me up now.”

Reina's two-way voice left Verdi confused as to what to do? Did he have to calm down Reina who was still crying under the table? Or meet Reina's call asking to be picked up. Verdi grew confused and turned to the table where Reina was. Verdi grabbed the paper and pen on Reina's desk and wrote.

“Sorry! It made you cry.” then he kept the paper near the laptop that was still on. With a rash move he immediately left Reina. He still wanted to hide his identity despite feeling guilty for Reina being forced to lie. But he did not want to reveal his identity now, it was not a wise choice. 

The time set in his grandfather's will has not yet arrived and he must endure until the time limit arrives and he gets his inheritance then he will reveal his identity to Reina. Although Verdi always felt guilty and uncomfortable having to live life with two identities at once but he had no choice for now.

If Reina knew her true identity then Verdi was sure her grandmother would not stay silent. Samara will definitely be more intensely disturbing and targeting Reina not only Reina but also her family. Just like her grandmother did to her mother's family. Samara leaves Verdi's mother's family bankrupt and in debt.

Verdi does not want all the bad things that happened to his mother's family to repeat. She slowly believes she will be able to melt her grandmother's heart to accept Reina.

Ting!

As soon as the elevator doors opened, Verdi immediately got out and ran towards his car. After he finished changing his appearance as Varen, he went to see his wife. Varen looked at Reina who was standing on the side of the road while looking down and sobbing.

“Reina!” call him.

“Varen!” Reina looked at her husband with a raucous voice she ran into her husband's arms and came back crying sobbing making Varen's heart hurt even more. “Varen....I'm so sad! All because of Mr Verdi!”

Varen didn't say anything, he let his wife talk and explained.

“If he hadn't come I would have gotten the money and Lady Samara wouldn't have insulted me. That's a lot of money, I think it can make our venture capital. Although I do not work anymore but if we have our own business, we can work together to develop a joint venture.”

Reina blames Verdi for everything that happened to her. He did not accept being insulted and losing his severance pay. He doesn't care if he has to lose his job, which is important he has a business with Varen. They can open a small cafe business. But all his plans are ruined because of Verdi's presence.

“Just imagine if I got the severance pay. We can open a business and next month we can celebrate the wedding. Ck! Mr. Verdi is a bitch! He destroyed the surprise plan for my husband!”

Varen laughed at his wife's complaint. He was already worried that his wife would cry all night but Reina was jokingly cursing at her boss. Thirty minutes passed and they finally arrived home. Although along the way Reina did not stop crying but her crying subsided after reaching home.

After cleaning up and exchanging clothes, Reina invited Varen to sit back in the living room while telling her about the incident she had experienced in the office. Reina was stunned to see Varen laughing instead.

Her husband's infrequent laughter made Varen look very handsome and more humane compared to the cold face she used to show. Reina noticed Varen's laughing handsome face, her mind drifting.

“You daydreaming huh?” Varen's voice resuscitated Reina from her daydream.

He shook his head with a smile, “No. I just remembered something.” he replied.

The smile on Varen's face faded, “Don't remember the bad things. Remember the good-nice so that your mood is also good.” he said staring at Reina with a soft look.

Reina looked at Varen. Then Varen asked, “What about your work? Will you stop working?”

Reina furrowed her brows, she felt humiliated and annoyed which made her want to quit her job but if she quit her job now then she would not get a full salary.

While he had planned when he received his first salary he would use to invite Varen to go on his honeymoon. Reina recalled the look in Samara's eyes when Verdi snapped at her, she looked sad.
