CHAPTER 35. PERSUADING GRANDMOTHER

In the elevator, there was only Verdi and his grandmother. The old woman's face was filled with anger, not once did she glance at her grandson standing beside her.

“Why did you bring that cheap lady to the company? Fire him or grandma herself will do it! If you don't obey me I'll make sure that cheap woman will suffer her life!”

The old woman's voice sounded firm and cold. A aura of anger and hatred emanated clearly on his face. Ever since entering the elevator she was reluctant to look at her grandson. He was really angry at Verdi. Verdi's facial expression looks sad looking at his grandmother.

“Reina is not the cheap woman you think she is! She's my wife! Like it or not, she is my wife! He is under contract with the company. I can't just fire him.”

“I don't care! Get that woman out of here. Or grandma herself would drag him out by force! I don't care if you married her! I never approve of you at any time! Such a woman does not deserve to be a daughter-in-law in our family! Camden it1”

Verdi tightened his fist restraining emotions. He did not want to lose control of himself and scolded the old woman who had been caring for and raising him.

“Felix should go to London immediately to take care of our company. Here I need a Grandma's assistant. There is no one who is suitable and I can trust other than Reina.” Verdi said trying to persuade his grandmother.

Samara snorted, “You think your grandmother is stupid? Grandma knows you recruited him in the back lane! His qualification was no match for that position! She must have used her status as your wife to break into the company and work there. You sly woman! Cheap!”

“Nek enough! Reina didn't know Verdi because I didn't display my true identity to her. She only knew her husband was Varen Saskara not Verdi Bimantya Kenzie!” obviously Verdi.

Samara glared sharply, “You think grandma believes it? How could she not recognize her own husband? That stupid woman? Even though your appearance in the office and at home is different, she should be able to recognize her husband! Huuuuh I never thought you married such a stupid woman!”

Verdi flinched because he also had the same thought as his grandmother. He could not believe that Reina did not recognize him at all. But Reina really doesn't know him, she thinks Varen and Verdi are different people.

Samara again squinted her eyes while smiling cynically. “Although it is true that the woman does not recognize you but the grandmother still does not allow her to work her company! Grandma will find a secretary who is much better and more competent than her! Anyway grandma doesn't want to see him again in this company! Point!”

“No Grandma! Verdi doesn't need a new secretary. Although Reina came in through the back lane and did not have enough work experience but she was smart and competent enough to do her job. He quickly learned and mastered all the tasks that were left to him. Please give him a chance to work here.”

“Can't! That woman should leave as soon as possible!” Samara remained on her feet.

Verdi won't lose either. “Alright! If Reina leaves here, Felix will stay. I can't work with strangers! If grandma doesn't approve my request then I'll go!”

Samara was silent, she was very familiar with the nature of her grandson who was difficult to get along with just anyone. Because of his mistake in educating Verdi, it was his grandson who made him a quiet person and did not get along. Samara felt so guilty!

 Finally Verdi can smile happily to hear his grandmother's decision. She was determined to be able to make her grandmother accept Reina.

He was very sure that if one day, Samara would open her heart to Reina just as Verdi did not like Reina.

“Thank you nek.” he said hugging Samara. “Grandma when to arrive? Why didn't you tell me you were home? I'll be able to pick up to the airport.” Verdi stuck his head in his grandmother's shoulder. She hoped that her grandmother would return her embrace. “I miss grandma.” ogre.

Samara remained silent unmoved, not replying to her grandson's embrace that she actually missed as well. Although his heart misses his grandson so much because for four months without Verdi but he feels prestige to admit it. He was silent without saying a word.

“Lease! Grandma has to go home now! If you miss your grandmother, then forget your grandfather's wasita and go home! But don't you take that woman home!” Samara unraveled her grandson's embrace and looked at Verdi gently. He seemed to have a longing in his eyes but he lied to himself.

After the elevator doors opened, Samara left Verdi who was staring at her with sadness. ‘Did grandma not miss me one bit? He didn't even answer my question. Why did he harden his heart? Isn't it much better to forget the past in order to live a quiet life in his old days without a sense of resentment from the past?’

Verdi looked at the back of his grandmother who was starting to disappear. Her feelings are still not calm because of the guilt on Reina who must feel the anger of her grandmother when she does not know anything. Verdi went to his car and sat there to calm himself down.

After calming himself down, Verdi contacted Felix to ask Reina's situation. Felix said that Reina had gone down. He told Verdi everything, how Reina was crying and feeling sad. Making Verdi who heard was increasingly feeling guilty and pity. Reina was a kind-hearted and gentle woman in Verdi's eyes.

Verdi quickly changed his appearance. He wore his black lens and changed his work suit. She also changed her hairstyle by moving it and ruffling it. After feeling that her appearance had changed like Varen, she got out of the car and ran towards Reina's usual place waiting for a taxi.

When he got there, there was no Reina there. Varen is looking for his wife. She began to feel worried especially she remembered Felix's remark that said if his grandmother's slap made Reina's face swollen and red.

“Young Master.” greet a man.

“Since when are you here?” ask her to Tanta, the taxi driver who always takes Reina.

“Since an hour ago.” replied.

“Did you see Reina out of the office?”

“No Young Master yet.”

Varen was getting more worried. Tanta is actually the head of Varen's bodyguard. He asks Tanta to disguise himself as a taxi driver to look after Reina. Varen doesn't want Reina to be as distracted as when Reina goes around looking for work. At that time Varen asked his men to look for Reina but they did not find her.
