Reina looked back to the front. “How long have we been married?”
“Twelve days.” Varen replied quickly.
“You counted it?”
“Ya of course. Ten more minutes will be the thirteenth day of our wedding.” said Varen with a faint smile.
Reina held her breath, Varen's smile was always able to cause strange vibrations in her chest. “Haahhh! Why does time go so fast? I want to get through next month. I want to be confirmed quickly. I'm afraid that if it's too long.” appears fear if Varen will leave it if the photo was sent Elora to Varen.
Varen frowned not understanding what his wife said. “What are you afraid of? Whatever happens, we'll stay married. Now we're husband and wife and it's going to happen forever. Time forty-eight days will never change anything.”
“Many things can happen in forty-eight days. What if we were both hesitant to continue the marriage? Or maybe one of us has doubts? No one knows what will happen in the future.” said Reina in a soft voice.
Varen stopped his steps and pulled Reina to face him and they looked at each other. “We never know what may happen in the future and doubts may also be present among us. Reina, haven't we pledged allegiance to each other? If that doubt arises then we must hold on to the promise we have made.”
“Varen...” Ogre Reina, she was stunned and her tears welled up again.
Varen turned his face while breathing. He tried to dampen the emotional overflow because of the words of his wife. After feeling quite calm, Varen stepped up and placed his palm on Reina's forehead.
“You have a fever. It's worth talking about it. Get on my back! I don't want the night wind getting dirty on your mind.”
Varen crouched down and pulled Reina's body up to her back. Reina had revolted but Varen's power is stronger. Varen continued on his way.
“Other times if you need fresh air, wait until morning comes. Do not force yourself to breathe the night air. You can fall ill as now.” grumbled Varen while speeding up his steps to get home soon. Varen blinked his tired eyes, he glanced at the clock that had shown at 3 am.
Upon arrival at home not a second his eyes closed because his wife who was feverish. Varen picked up a wet towel from Reina's forehead then pointed her palm at his wife's forehead. Reina's body temperature had dropped and Varen again dipped a towel compress into the water and then wiped the sweat on his wife's face.
Because Reina's fever had gone down, he decided to lie down next to his wife. Varen shifted close to his wife. Although Reina's body feels hot but she does not feel disturbed in the slightest let alone afraid of contracting pain.
Instead of closing his eyes, Varen looked at his wife's face. His hand stroked the face of Reina who still looked puffy because of her crying last night. His mind floated in memory of the photo that Elora had sent out a few hours ago.
A photo of Reina and Kaifan holding hands. Although Varen knew the photo was not friendly but still Varen was annoyed to see it.
Felix had already recounted the incident that Reina had experienced when the photo was taken by Elora. And Varen's anger is getting smolder because of it, he is angry because he can not keep and keep Reina away from the interference of striped men like Kaifan. Varen feels very tired of this double identity that he has to play.
Varen wants to always be by Reina's side as her husband and she wants to take care of Reina completely. “I'm sorry. I didn't mean to lie to you Reina.” said Varen. He further tightened his body to Reina and kissed the top of his head with a feeling of affection.
“I will explain everything when you wake up.” muttered while holding tightly to Reina's body and sleeping with her.
“Why didn't Varen wake me?” he complained as he got out of bed.
Her body felt limp but Reina still forced herself to walk while holding on to the wall. He went to the bathroom to wash his face and went outside the room and was about to head to the kitchen.
“Why are you awake? You are sick.” Varen immediately approached Reina who had just come out of the room. He immediately grabbed Reina and sat her down on the sofa.
“I feel fine. Why didn't you wake me up? We can be late for work.” said Reina who looks worried.
“No. You can't go anywhere today. You should rest at home until you are completely healed. I don't allow you to go to work today.”
Varen leaned Reina's back against the sofa and folded the cloth for her footwear that dangled down. Then she covered part of Reina's body with a thin blanket.
“I brought you breakfast.” said Varen as he stepped into the kitchen. Reina looked at the back of the man who seemed to be busy putting something into the bowl. Soon Varen returns with a tray of food for Reina.
“You ate the porridge first then took medicine.” said Varen while keeping a tray on the table and sitting next to Reina.
“You make porridge for me?” Reina stared at the bowl of porridge her husband was holding. The aroma of the porridge was tempting Reina to immediately eat her breakfast.
“I bought it in a normal place. I can't cook porridge.” said Varen. Hearing those words, there was a feeling of dislike towards Reina. Varen left him when he was sleeping.
“I'm not hungry! You eat.” said Reina ketus when Varen brought a spoonful of porridge closer to her mouth.
“Not a hungry problem or not. You have to eat breakfast because after you eat you have to take medicine. If you don't want how can you recover?” Varen brought the spoon closer to Reina's mouth, but the woman refused.
“I don't want.” reject Reina firmly while turning her face away.
There was a look of anger on his face that looked pale. Varen frowned, she felt confused by Reina's suddenly stubborn attitude.
“You why the hell? Did I do something wrong again? Suddenly you're acting like that?” asked Varen looking at Reina.
Reina stared back at her husband fiercely, “I don't like you going quietly while I'm still sleeping. What's wrong with you waking me up or you leaving me a message?”
Varen is stunned, but Reina is angry that she left while Reina was still sleeping. Though he went to buy porridge and look for heat-lowering drugs.
Without saying anything, Varen kept the bowl in his hand and got up and went to the room. Reina's gaze weakened as she watched her husband leave just like that.
Her tears started to well up because she knew Varen was mad at her but she was always scared whenever she didn't see her husband.
