CHAPTER 42. WAIT AROUND

Reina was startled as she opened her eyes and looked around her furrowing her brows, trying to remember what happened to her and when she got home. As she remembered, she was still in a taxi with Varen and her husband gave her painkillers and after that she remembered nothing more.

“Hoaaammm....did I fall asleep during the trip? Where's Varen?” muttered. He looked around but found no one in the room. “Varen!!!!” call him while getting out of bed.

He walked towards the bathroom but there was no sound from inside. Reina knocked on the bathroom door but there was no answer and she pushed the door to find the bathroom empty.

“Varen??” call him out of the room and spread his eyes to the living room, there was no one there. Reina began to worry, she ran into the kitchen and ran to the back of the house but did not find the figure of Varen. He galloped out of the house and stood on the terrace scanning every corner of his deserted courtyard.

He did not see Varen everywhere, fear began to appear and unconsciously tears dripped in the corner of his eyes. His body slumped on the porch crying, his eyes looked at the dark morning atmosphere and the lights were still brightly lit. Reina is confused as to where Varen is going so early and where she should look for him.

Her fear grew bigger, she was not used to being alone and liked being lonely. Then Reina stood up and stepped into her room to pick up the bag and pulled out her phone to call Varen but the number she was going to was off.

With wide strides he came back out of the house and continued walking to the front of the fence and opened it. While continuing to cry, Reina stared at the forked crossroads. Confused and not knowing where to look for her husband, she decided to wait while crouching in front of the fence while watching the still quiet streets.

The day was getting brighter, Reina had been squatting in front of the fence for almost an hour. He started to feel his legs were dark but Varen still did not come home either. Finally Reina stood up and decided to look for her because an hour and a half had passed but her husband was not yet seen.  He recalled that Varen liked to go to the park to exercise, so he decided to go there to find.

Just a few he walked, a familiar voice called out to him. “Reina! Where to?”

Reina immediately turned her head and looked at her husband's sweaty face.

Instead of answering her husband's question, Reina immediately ran while crying and hugged Varen who also langung carrying Reina into his arms.

“Why are you crying? Where are you going so early?” varen asked, staring fixedly at his wife's face while wiping her tears with his hands.

“I want to go looking for you.” replied Reina again sobbing which made Varen stunned. He did deliberately leave without leaving a message to Reina because he intended to go home before his wife woke up.

Varen stared at Reina's feet that were not wearing sandals and looked dirty, “Why don't you wear sandals? How long are you waiting for me?” asked Varen who was feeling sorry to see his wife who was still crying bitterly.

He was wrong, one side felt sorry and pity to see his wife crying as much as she wanted to laugh because Reina was so childish and adorable.

“Since it was still dark, I did not see the clock but maybe around five.” replied Reina.

Varen again wiped away Reina's tears with her right hand while her left hand hugged her waist.

“I was exercising for a while and went to the market to buy groceries. I thought you were still sleeping when I got home so I didn't wake you up. Sorry yes?”

Reina stared at the large plastic located near Varen's feet, for some reason she became annoyed. Whether it is difficult to wake him or leave a message before he leaves, he is not anxious and afraid. Why did he just leave so sad and cry.

Reina ignored her husband's immediate escape from Varen's embrace and stepped into the house leaving Varen stricken in confusion.

‘Loh! What am I wrong? Wasn't Reina crying? Why did her crying stop and get angry at him?’ varen murmured in his heart. He took the big plastic he had placed near his feet and followed his wife.

After finishing cooking, Varen arranged the food on the table and called Reina who looked neat but still with a bent face. Reina looked at the food in front of her in annoyance, because of all this food she was crying over Varen like crazy. Remembering how her behavior had made Reina feel so embarrassed.

She also ate her food with her face down, not daring to look at her husband's face.

Drrrrtt.

“Reina! Your phone rang continuously from earlier.” said Varen gave Reina's phone he was holding without seeing who called.

Without saying a word, Reina picked up her phone and stared at the unknown number that appeared on the screen with a frown. He then answered the call.

“Ah....finally you answered my phone as well. I called you from earlier.”

“Sorry yes who are you?” reina asked when she heard the voice of the man who called her.

“Good morning Reina. This is Kaifan, HRD manager. Do you remember me?” ask Kaifan.

“Ya good morning Mr. Kaifan. What did you contact me so early?”

“I just want to ask, what are you doing now? Is it breakfast?” kaifan asked in a soft voice and smiled happily as Reina answered her phone.

Reina kept the phone away from her ear and stared in wonder at her phone screen, she felt strange at Kaifan's insignificant question. Reina immediately disconnected her phone.

‘Basic of freaks! Why is he wondering that too? It doesn't matter!’ he murmured in the heart.

“Who's phone?” varen asked with a flat face but from his tone sounded curious.

Reina who was still angry at her husband did not answer, instead she typed something on her phone screen and gave it to Varen.

Varen's eyes narrowed when he saw the word ‘Kaifan HRD’ on his wife's phone screen. “Why did he call you this early in the morning? What do you want?”

“Where do I know! What is he you're doing? Is it breakfast?” Reina turned around and turned back to eat her food.

Varen's jaw hardened and his hand clasped tightly onto Reina's phone. “Other times do not need to answer an unclear phone! You are married and have a husband, avoid interacting with other men.” said Varen sound annoyed.

Reina turned her head for a moment then lowered her face back to eat her food. Seeing that Varen clenched her teeth, she was confused and annoyed by Reina's disregard for him without her knowing where he was wrong. After finishing breakfast, Reina stood up and brought the dirty dishes to the kitchen for washing.

Varen was still upset then asked, “You're mad at me?”

Instead of answering, Reina sped up the dishes and went to the room. Varen just stared at Reina's back with a confused face, what's wrong with his wife? He did not know how to defuse the woman's anger when he apologized.
