CHAPTER 34. GRANDMA SLAP

“Ehem....” the voices of Deheman Elora and Bobby disperse both. Reina was still in Verdi's arms and realized then said.

“Thank you.” trying to re-enforce his body. Verdi's gaze fixed on the pantofel shoes worn by Reina looks dirty. Without saying a word Verdi turned his body.

“The team of lawyers will immediately make a claim to the PT. Ananda Widjaya's. Now you just focus on monitoring the construction of projects that have been delayed too long! Remember well, you guys here work not to mess around let alone bully!” verdi continued his conversation.

Elora felt insinuated by Verdi's words, she immediately fell silent while Reina took a deep breath to neutralize the thump of her heart that was racing fast like a horse race. His mind went back to Varen who could always make his heart pound as fast as it is now.

‘Stupid! Reina..you are so stupid! Your heart should only be beating for your husband! Not to another man.’ his inner.

He cursed himself and felt so guilty that he had let another man stir his heart. Reina looked back at Verdi with a sad look and longing for Varen. ‘What because he looks like Varen is my heart reacting like this to him?’

Ting!

The elevator stops on the twenty-eighth floor where Bobby and Elora's workspace is located. “I first Mr.” said Bobby while bending his body a little.

At first glance the man looked at the adorable face of Reina the ex-wife who managed to make his heart back chaotic and disturbed. Bobby was jealous to see Reina being hugged by Verdi just now.

Meanwhile Elora stared cynically at Reina then stepped up and bowed respectfully to Verdi before exiting the elevator. When Elora was about to get out of the elevator, Verdi stuck out his foot to touch the tip of Elora's shoes which immediately made her lose her balance.

Elora was about to catch her husband's hand as a grip but Bobby walked over without turning his head but..   BUKK!

Elora fell to her knees with her forehead hitting the hard floor. “Aduhhh....” he grimaced in pain, his nose and forehead hitting the floor hard. Hearing a loud thud made Bobby turn his head and look up at his wife who was lying face down on the floor.

Bobby glanced at Elora, upset that Elora was walking so unscrupulously that she fell down and embarrassed her for happening in front of Verdi and Reina.

What if someone sees the incident? Bobby circulated his gaze to make sure no one was looking. He did not help his wife first.

“Eat him carefully!” sniff Bobby pissed.

“Sorry!” elora looks so embarrassed.

While Reina closed her mouth so that her laughter would not be heard.

She was satisfied that Elora had her reply. The elevator door closed, Reina lowered her head still covering her mouth with her hands. Her heart was completely satisfied to see her brother's face holding in shame.

In front of him, Verdi also smiled because he was satisfied to be able to repay Elora's actions to his wife. As long as he was by Reina's side, he wouldn't let anyone bully his wife.

“Today you let me go home early. But remember yes, tomorrow do not let you be late again.” said Verdi when they stepped out of the elevator.

Reina's smile expanded, she was indeed a bit tired and wanted to go home to see her husband soon. “Thank you sir.” said Reina. But…..

PlAckk! Plakkkkp!

A hand grabbed Reina's hand and turned her body quickly and slapped her. The loud slap landed on his cheek. Reina was stunned to receive a slap from an old woman she did not know. Her hand touched her painful cheek and felt hot.

“What does grandma do?” Verdi stared intently at the old woman he had not seen for the past four months.

“Why is this cheap woman here? He doesn't deserve to be here! Banish him!” screeched the old woman while pointing towards Reina's face with a hateful look.

Reina who was still shocked and shocked could only quietly stare at the old woman. He didn't know the woman at all, then why was he so angry and seemed to hate her so much? What wrong? Did he misidentify people? He even called me a cheap woman? His inner.

“Felix! Bring Reina into.” Verdi's command and then touch her grandmother's shoulders and try to calm her down. He pushed the old woman's body into the elevator, “Nek, we should talk about this carefully. There is no need to involve Reina in our problems! He knows nothing and is innocent! “Rei....are you okay?” Felix touched Reina's shoulder. She could not bear to see Reina being treated that way by her grandmother.

“Hah?” Reina looked at Felix with teary eyes while holding her cheek.

Felix touched Reina's swollen cheeks and saw blood on the tip of her lips. It seemed like grandma slapped him so hard that the corner of Reina's lips was torn apart.

“Sick?”

Reina jumped, her cheeks hurt, her heart hurt. With tears rolling down her cheeks, the old woman slapped him with all her might until Reina could feel a rusty taste in her mouth due to the wound on the inside of her cheek.

“Let's treat me! Sit here, I'll get you some ice to compress.”

Felix disappeared behind the pantry door, Reina sobbing because of the pain in her cheek also in her heart. ‘Why is my life so sad? My parents hate me, my brother hates me, even Bobby hates me so much that he divorces me and marries my brother! Now there's someone else I don't know who hates me? What's my fault?’ he murmured in the heart.

‘Is it because I slapped Mr Verdi so that his grandmother got angry and slapped me?’ muttered.

Felix returns with an ice cube pad and asks Reina to stick it on her swollen cheek. Then Felix sat down next to him, grimacing to see tears flooding the face of his cousin's wife.

“I'm sorry grandma yes. He was indeed somewhat protective of Verdi. Grandma never likes it if there are women who approach her.” said Felix.

“Did he misunderstand me? I'm just here working instead of flirting with Mr. Verdi.”

“Yes, maybe because grandma doesn't know you yet so she's behaving like that. I'm sure he'll accept you if he knows you better.” Felix replied trying to calm Reina down.

“Please tell him that I am only Mr. Verdi's secretary. I am married and love my husband. So your grandmother doesn't have to worry about me flirting with her granddaughter. I won't go near her grandson.” Reina said. He understood the misunderstanding that had happened to his boss' grandmother.

Felix is confused because he does not know what kind of answer to give Reina. He looked at the woman with a smile. His facial expression was confused as he looked at Reina. She hears Reina saying that she loves her husband. He felt funny and felt sorry for her.

“Pak Felix's. I beg you to explain to your grandmother so as not to misunderstand me.”

“Alright! I'll try to do it for you. Don't worry.” Felix said.

“Thank you sir.” he said in deletion of his tears. He heaved a sigh of relief after hearing Felix's words.

‘It's fitting that Mr. Verdi and Mr. Felix are not married at an age that is enough, it turns out his grandmother is fierce! Any woman would want to be his daughter-in-law then. Could have a heart attack every day because of being yelled at and scolded continuously.’ murmured his heart looked at Felix pity.
