CHAPTER 92. TO ELOPE

It had been almost an hour of Reina waiting for Verdi but she still hadn't shown up as well. Almost a week this Verdi always comes late and it makes Reina upset. Reina had to call her boss. Reina pressed Verdi's mobile number but there was no answer but Reina did not give up. He called Verdi.

“Reina?” verdi's voice sounded hoarse like someone just woke up.

“You just woke up? Did you forget that today there are documents to sign?”

“Everything I've done. Just open my laptop. Oh yea! I'll be at the office after lunch. You handle all my work first.” Verdi just turned off the phone.

Reina looked at her phone screen in annoyance. He immediately turned on his boss's alptop and was stunned to see a photo of him being wallpaper on Verdi's laptop.

“What the fuck is this?” his forehead frowned in disbelief if his boss made his picture into wallpaper. Suddenly Reina's heart beat was getting louder.

Not feeling the time goes fast, Reina pensively while staring at the laptop screen in front of her. The clock shows 13.45 noon. His gaze shifted from Verdi's room door.

A few minutes ago Verdi came and is now talking to his grandmother. Not long after Verdi's arrival, Lady Samara entered her room.

BRACKET!

“Don't expect my blessing! I'll never let you marry her!” the sound of goods being thrown was accompanied by Samara's roaring angry screams.

Reina and her two colleagues jumped in shock. Shortly after Mrs Samara's shout was heard, Verdi closed the glass of his room and everything was silent.

Reina believes that Verdi is activating the soundproof mode in her room. “Bu Reina, what happened? Is Mr Verdi getting married and Mrs Samara not agreeing to it?” windy asked enthusiastically, he looked very curious.

“Iya ma'am. What is it with Mr Verdi and Mrs Samara?” sahut Tiara was curious.

Reina sighed looking at Windy and Tiara sharply. “Just do your job! Don't interfere in other people's business! Mr Verdi's personal matters are none of our business!” reina replied in a calm voice but her heart was pounding. Reina's feeling was not calm.

“Grandpa! Wait Verdi....listen to Verdi's explanation first!”

Verdi's door opened and Verdi was pleading while chasing after his grandmother. Reina saw the two of them go towards the elevator. Her eyes widened as Samara slapped Verdi with all her might. Verdi soon returned to his room with shaky steps with bruised cheeks from his grandmother's slap.

“Tiara! Handle all incoming calls to Mr. Verdi. Just say Mr. Verdi is in a meeting.”

“Good bu.” Tiara nodded. Reina got up from her seat and walked towards the pantry. He made a warm tea and took a slice of lemon and Reina also took an ice cube. Then he took her to Verdi's room.

When entering, Verdi was leaning on his chair while closing his eyes. “Your face is a bit swollen should be treated immediately and compressed.” said Reina while sticking a compress tool cheeked Verdi. The man's eyes opened and looked at Reina wistfully. Verdi's blue iris which always looks firm and sharp now looks fragile.

There was sadness and despair in his eyes. Reina grabbed Verdi's hand and guided him to hold the compress taped to his cheek.

“Compress the part that hurts not to be swollen.” said Reina. He was about to let go of her hand but Verdi held her back.

“Please do it for me.” the door.

Reina looked at Verdi closely, Verdi's cheek looked swollen and the corner of his lips was bleeding. Spotlight Verdi's dim eyes as if asking for help from him. Her blue iris that always made Reina upset this time made her feel pity. Reina let go of Verdi's hand that touched her hand.

“What woman is so precious? To the extent that you have to fight with your grandmother.”

“He's more valuable than anything. Even from myself.” Verdi replied.

Reina was stunned as she looked at Verdi's face which looked noted and calm. Verdi was very good at hiding his emotions just as Varen made Reina smile thinly.

“Love is blind! Then what will you do next? Married secretly or you want to elope?”

Verdi suddenly laughed while grimacing. Reina frowned not understanding why her boss was laughing like that. Reina admits that Verdi's laughter can make her heart beat fast. This was the reason he hated Verdi because the man made his heart always betray Varen.

“Married run? I will not do such cowardly deeds.” Verdi replied.

“Whatever happens, I will get Grandma's blessing before our wedding happens.” he said.

Reina snorted because;; verdi's confidence was back. “Then I can only pray that your efforts succeed!” Reina moved away from Verdi and offered her tea.

“Minum! This tea will make you feel calmer.” said Reina.

Verdi immediately took the cup containing the tea from Reina's hand. The expression on her face showed a flat smile, sometimes Reina felt confused and clueless with people like her boss who irritated her expression.

Don't they get tired of bending their faces all day without a smile? Can people like their boss be as relaxed as anyone else?

What exactly makes them so stingy a smile, it's hard to look cheerful, angry or upset? Do they lose out on expressing their own feelings? Isn't it more tiring to express such a flat and cold?

“If there is nothing else, I have to go back to work. Excuse me.”

Reina carried a tray and a compress tool and turned around and stepped out of her boss room.

“Reina!” call Verdi. Reina turned her head to look at the man while gnashing her forehead. “Thank you.” said Verdi who only replied Reina with a thin smile then stepped out of the room. After he closed the door behind him, an OG immediately stopped him.

“Bu Reina's. Let me just bring it to pantri.” said OG who just finished cleaning the floor. He took the tray from Reina's hand and went to the pantry. While Reina sat back in her work chair, her gaze was fixed on her phone. She hesitantly grabbed her cell phone and tried to call her mother.

“Mama....” said when her mother answered her phone call.

“What did you call?” tanya Indira was still as usual, a cold tone.

“Mama know Mrs Samara Bimantya? The owner of the company where Elora and I work?”

“Hmm! What happened to that arrogant granny?” ask Indira.

“Ehm. Reina wants to see him this afternoon. Can you get my hands ready for me to take there later? I was confused what to bring for her.” replied Reina.

Indira did not respond and the two were both silent for a few minutes. From across the phone Reina could only hear the noise of the cafe servants.

“Mama will prepare for you. What time do you want to see him? Later mama told the driver to take you there.” said Indira again.

“Back to work ma. But Varen....”.

“Let mama take care of that. Just make sure you look good and keep your manners. That haughty woman will insult you all out if you don't look neat. Don't embarrass yourself.”
