Chapters 113. Before Too Late.
Abbas nodded his head while wiping away the tears that somehow fell on his face, agreeing with what Keanu said about the fate that brought their encounter with Ayun.
Without them both knowing, since then Nindi has been filled with tears because of hearing the words of the father. At first he did fall asleep due to the effects of the drug given by the Doctor, but he woke up when he heard the voice of the father who told about his past and his relationship with Ayun.
Indeed Nindi was surprised by what her father said, never thought before if the father had another child besides himself.
Nindi wiped the tears that had soaked her face and tried to sit down, making Keanu who was right facing her gasp.
"Dear-Darling?" Keanu rounded his eyes when he saw his wife awake, making Abbas immediately turn to the left where Nindi was.
Suddenly, Abbas's body became stiff and tense when he saw his daughter was already sitting on the bed, even now looking at him with sadness.
"Darling," murmured Abbas with teary eyes. His chest was racing with breath felt tight as if stuck in the throat.
Keanu quickly got off the sofa to get to his wife. "Well, are you awake, honey? Do you want something, hem?" He asked nervously while grasping both hands of Nindi.
Nindi who had been staring at the papa now turned to look at her husband with sadness and sweetness. "Why, Mas? Why didn't you tell me?" He asked with his pale lips trembling.
Keanu looked at the wife with nanar. The question that was thrown from his wife's mouth indicated that Nindi had heard his chat with the in-laws earlier.
"Dear."
Keanu who would answer Nindi's question was forced to abandon his intention when he heard the voice of the in-law, he and Nindi then turned to look at Abbas who was walking towards them.
"Nindi, Honey. Forgive me, papa," said Abbas softly, standing beside the bed with a guilty look.
Nindi looked at the papa softly. "Why didn't Papa tell me? What if I die before I find out that I have a brother?" He watered with tears.
Abbas and Keanu immediately shook their heads when they heard Nindi's words. "Don't say that, honey. You're gonna be okay." Abbas hugged his daughter tightly, making Nindi sob.
"Why, Pa? Why didn't Papa tell me?" asked Nindi back with a sob.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry papa." Only an apology can Abbas give Nindi. She does not know how her daughter feels when she hears the truth about her relationship and Ayun, she is afraid that Nindi is disappointed and cannot accept all of that reality.
Keanu who saw the wife crying immediately pushed the intercom button in the room, so that the Doctor and nurse could come immediately. He was worried that Nindi's state would come back down due to this matter.
Nindi kept sobbing in the papa's arms. He felt shocked and grateful when he found out that he had a brother, even though different mothers.
Abbas immediately broke his embrace, then rubbed Nindi's face gently. "Don't cry, son. Don't cry because of the mistakes you've made." He said slowly.
Nindi fell silent while trying to calm down and endure the pain that felt so piercing, she did not want if the papa and her husband were worried again.
"No, Pa. I cried not because Papa made a mistake, but because I knew I had a sister. Me, I feel happy," said Nindi slowly. Regardless of what happened in the past, he still feels happy because the father will not live alone after he is gone.
Simultaneously, the Doctor and nurse entered the room to check on Nindi, and asked what was going on.
"I'm fine, Doctor. I just feel good to know that I have a sister, and that my sister is a woman that I really care about" Nindi said when she heard the doctor's question.
The middle-aged doctor looked directly at Abbas when he heard his patient's words, because Nindi had no siblings other than a half-sister.
Nindi smiled as she clasped her blanket tightly, no matter how hard she tried to do well, the pain was even more agonizing.
"Did Papa tell Ayun? Ah, I mean Ayun? I would love to meet her and hold her tight" Nindi said excitedly.
It was not without reason that Nindi said that, she just wanted to hug and acknowledge Ayun as her brother while her life was still conceived. He felt that he could no longer bear the pain that crumbled his bones, and pierced all the organs in his body.
"Papa, I want to call Ayun by the name of mbak or brother. What do you think, Papa?"

A sound from a falling object echoed in that place making everyone look straight at the door, where a woman was standing and dropping her food box as a result of being surprised by what Nindi said.
