Chapter 25. Go, and Don't Go Back.
Sherly's body froze when she heard the papa's sharp words again, but she felt indifferent and still begged for mercy from her papa.
"I am the son of Papa, until whenever will remain the son of Papa. I beg you to forgive me."
A very heart-wrenching sound of crying echoed in that place. Everyone was staring with sadness and pain, obviously they were crying with what was happening right now.
Abbas lowered his body and held Sherly's hands, which had been clutching her legs since then, making everyone tense.
"Remember this, Sherly. One day, this great love that you exalt will destroy your life to the lowest point" Abbas said sharply as he stared at the two beads of the princess's eyes.
He stood up and went away from that place. The pain that stifles the chest really cannot be held anymore.
However, only a few steps went by. Again his legs were strangled by Sherly who seemed reluctant to leave.
"Papa, please don't be like this. Punish me, punish me for all that I have done. Whatever punishment Papa gives, I'm ready to take it. I beg you," Sherly said stammeringly. He looked at the father with tears.
Abbas can't stand it anymore. If he didn't love Sherly, he would have stepped on her to the point of disintegration.
"Why am I punishing you? God has warned every human being not to punish and hurt animals."
Deg.
Sherly's cry stopped immediately upon hearing Abbas's words, as did everyone in the place. Isn't Abbas feeding Sherly the beast?
"For me, you and the man are like animals because they have no heart and no mind. So quickly leave this house before I step on you to death!"
Deg.
Sherly's body goosebumps at the cold, piercing sound, until her mouth can no longer speak.
"Nindi, Keanu" called Abbas to make his son and daughter-in-law gasp.
"Y-yes, Pa?"
"Take their kids, and get them out of my house!"
Abbas left with wide strides without looking back. It was proof that his heart was really deeply scratched with what was happening.
Seeing the departure of the father, Sherly then woke up and rested at the feet of his mother. "Mama, please help me. Talk to me to forgive me, I beg you."
Sella shook her head sobbing. "Sorry, Sherly. Mama can't." She then released Sherly's hand and passed away following the husband's steps.
"No, don't leave me" Sherly shouted. He turned around, and did the same to Nindi. "Sister, I know I made a mistake. I beg you to forgive me, I beg you to talk to papa." He cupped both hands in front of his chest expectantly.
Nindi looked at Sherly grudgingly as she let out a rough sigh. "You chose this path yourself, Sherly. So you must be prepared to accept the consequences. I'll take the Saints."
Deg.
Sherly can only freeze to death when she sees all her family moving away and no longer wants to accept her. It hurts, his heart hurts so much.
Evan quickly approached his wife and hugged her tightly. "Don't worry, Sherly. Everything will be fine, there will still be me and the Saints who will be with you."
Keanu immediately cursed annoyed when he heard Evan's words. Since then his hands have been itching to hit the man, but there is no way he did it in front of the in-laws.
"Calm down, I'm here." Evan hugged Sherly tightly. They had gone too far, so there would be nowhere else to go back.
Nindi returned to that place while carrying Saints. His heart was slashed by a knife as he handed the little girl into Evan's hands.
"Sister, I beg you." Sherly is still trying, hoping for a little mercy.
"Go away, I don't want to come back angry when I see you are still here" Nindi said as she turned and left.
Sherly stared in disbelief, is it true that her family threw her away like this? Was the mistake he made truly inexcusable? Wh why? He just wants to be happy like everyone else.
"You want to walk alone, or I'll drag him?"
Keanu's voice made Sherly and Evan gasp in shock. Evan quickly helps Sherly to wake up, and embraces her away from the house.
Evan looked at Keanu sharply. He knew that the man was happy with what happened, especially now that Keanu was only the son-in-law of Abbas Daniswara's family.
"You don't even close your eyes when you see what's going on, Mr. Keanu," Evan said as a satire, making Keanu smile in a slant.
"Why did I open my eyes? You yourself are digging a pit of destruction, then enjoy it," Keanu replied as he held the door and closed it firmly.
Brakes.
Sherly stared at the door with a piteous look. Both of his legs trembled again to the point of making Evan immediately hold his body.
"Why, why don't you forgive me at all?" sherly said with a soft look.
"Don't be sad anymore, Sherly. We better get out of here, why do we stay here after being thrown out?" Evan pulls Sherly's hand and takes her into the car.
He then placed Saints in the back seat, then went back out and walked towards the steering chair.
Abbas, who was in his study, watched them from behind a window, clenched his hands tightly at Sherly's departure.
"Why are you missteps like this, Sherly? What a pity," murmured Abbas, holding his chest tight.
"Mas."
Abbas glanced back when he heard Sella's voice, and saw her bowing her head behind him.
"I'm sorry, Mom. I didn't mean to lie to you. Me, I just can't bear to see Sherly like that" Sella said sobbing.
"It's because of you, Sella. It is your love that has encouraged him to do such a humiliation."
