Hasna was astonished with both eyes wide-eyed at the sight of the male figure she had recognized so much in the past. So was the man, who was staring at him sharply without blinking a single bit.
Swing rushed in and approached the mother. "Mom." He rubbed the back of the mother's hand making the middle-aged woman gasp in shock.
"You've come, son?" hasna asked stuttered, making Ayun frown feeling astonished by her mother's reaction.
"Yes, Mom. You're okay, aren't you?" asked Ayun worriedly, she tried to shake off her curiosity over the reaction of the mother earlier.
Hasna nodded her head. "Mother is fine, son. How are you, hem? Is the trial going well?"
Swing gasped when he heard the mother's question. His pupils widened, with a surprised look at what his mother said.
"I-mom, that's-"
"Why are you surprised, are you planning on hiding everything until mom dies?" hasna's words made Ayun gasp in shock and immediately clasped her hands tightly.
"Mom's nothing, son. Why secret it?" Lirih Hasna with a trembling voice. "Tell me everything, and cry on your lap. You're mom's daughter. If you don't complain and cry on your lap, then who else?"
Hasna's speech was heart-wrenching Ayun, making her cry directly on the thighs of the mother who is currently sitting while leaning on the bed.
Everyone in the place felt how devastated and painful Ayun felt, as well as Nindi and her family who were still loyal to the place.
"Cry, Son. Sorry that mom is there for you now." Lirih Hasna rubbed Ayun's head gently. Tears seemed to spill over his face, really his heart was really hurt by what Evan had done to his eldest daughter.
Ezra, who was also there, got up and approached Abbas. He crucified the middle-aged man's hand, not forgetting Nindi and Keanu as well.
"How are you, Ezra?" abbas asked as he embraced Ezra's body, making the man smile with pleasure.
"I'm good, Grandpa. What about Grandpa?" answer Ezra, and it ends with a question anyway. He really thought of Abbas like his own grandfather, seeing how comfortable he was in the arms of the middle-aged man.
After feeling calm, Ayun lifted her head from the mother's thigh. He rubbed his face soaked with tears, it was possible that he would cry to such a mouthful in front of everyone. However, somehow his feelings felt very relieved.
"Oh yes, Mom. I want to introduce Mom to my best friend and family, they have helped me a lot all this time" said Ayun as he stood up. He then tilted his body, and looked towards Nindi.
Nindi smiled at Hasna while stepping her legs to approach the middle-aged woman. "How's it going, Auntie?" He slapped Hasna's hand, asking the middle-aged woman.
"Thank God, Miss," Hasna replied, making Nindi immediately frown upon hearing the imprinted call for her.
Abbas smiled wryly as he advanced his steps. His eyes looked at the middle-aged woman fixedly. Not much has changed from the woman's face, maybe just wrinkles that increase due to inedible age.
"For a long time no see, Hasna," said Abbas, making everyone reflexively look at him. "How are you? We haven't seen each other for decades after that." The shrillness made Hasna's smile turn bitter.
Everyone looked at Abbas and Hasna in turn. Of course with curiosity and filled with question marks, because it seems like they have known each other in the past.
"Yes, Sir. It's been a long time since the last time we met, if so please sit down" Hasna said, inviting Abbas and others to sit down.
Abbas swiftly walked towards the sofa and sat there, while Nindi and Keanu looked at each other as they saw what was happening.
Swing who was confused could only remain silent when he saw the interaction between Abbas and his mother, he himself had never heard if his mother had any acquaintances in this city.
Hasna who understood the meaning of everyone's gaze could only smile bitterly. "Why are you all quiet?" He looked towards his children and also Ezra. "Don't stare confused like that, I already know Mr. Abbas. Long time ago, mom was a waiter in her house for 2 years."
Everyone gasped in shock when they heard Hasna's words, especially Ayun who had never heard of her mother ever working as a servant in someone else's house.
"But why didn't you ever say? Mother even said if you do not know anyone other than the Evan family in this city," said Ayun confused, of course making Hasna again smile.
"Yes, mother's work as a servant is very short. So, maybe at that time I forgot to tell you. But in the past, my mother really worked at the home of Mr. Abbas and became his servant" Hasna said.
Everyone nodded in understanding at what Hasna said, it was fitting that the two of them knew each other.
Abbas himself continued to look at Hasna closely, especially when he heard the woman's explanation that seemed to tickle his heart.
"Yes, Hasna. Your work is indeed very short, but it leaves a very deep mark."
