Evan was taken into an interrogation room that he had entered before. Some policemen who saw it seemed to frown their eyebrows, because they remembered the old case some time ago.
"Well, I'll ask you a few questions. I hope you answer honestly, because if you lie, then the punishment will be more severe," said the police when they were in the room, and sat facing each other.
Evan nodded in understanding. In any case, he already knew the outcome of this case later. Where he was indeed guilty of giving unsubstantiated accusations to David, and doing slander in front of many people.
One by one, the police began to ask Evan, and were answered honestly according to what happened at that time. He decided to be honest because he did not want to add to the problem, and hopefully his honesty can attract David's sympathy so that the man forgives him.
Not noticeably, an hour had passed and ten questions were answered by Evan. Now the police have one last question to ask, and after that their meeting is over.
"Of all your answers, it is certain that you are guilty of accusing Mr. David for no reason and damaging his good name. For that, I want to give you the last question" said the policeman, making Evan give a rough sigh.
"After you learned that it wasn't Mr David who committed the theft, why didn't you ever apologize or fix his good name in front of everyone?" ask the cop.
Evan pressed his two hands together. "I was still very shocked, and could not accept the truth about my wife. Until I forget about the mistake I made, and apologize too late." He answered honestly.
The policeman nodded his head and had already recorded all the answers Evan gave. "Well, thank you for answering all my questions honestly. You can already leave this place, but remember that there are still many series of checks about your status later."
Evan nodded his head at the police. "I understand, Sir. Honestly, I had intended to apologize to David, but I was late." He breathed a tired breath.
"I understand your position, Sir. But I also understand how the complainant feels. Please hire a lawyer for the case, because the whistleblower will not be willing to reconcile."
Evan who was originally looking down immediately looked at the policeman with a bitch. "Don't want to make peace?"
The policeman nodded his head. He then said that David had spoken clearly to the police, that he would not accept any kind of peace with Evan.
Evan was silent with a look of disbelief when he heard it. The two hands that were originally clenched together, now seemed tightly clenched.
"Maybe you can talk about it with the complainant. If Mr. David is willing to make peace, then this case will definitely be withdrawn and we also hope to be resolved in a familial manner. But if he refuses, then the law will still run in accordance with the law," the police said later.
Evan nodded his head again and moved out of the place. He walked straight to his car, and went straight into it by slamming the door.
"Why, why do problems keep happening to me?" evan shouted while rubbing his face violently. Tiredness and pain continued to eat away at his heart and mind, making him almost lose his sanity. "No, it's not my time like this. I need to see David." He started the engine and drove to David's house.
Today too, Evan has to meet with David and get things done. If the man wants him to apologize, then he will do it sincerely and re-hire David in his office.
Moments later, Evan has reached David's parents' yard. He decided to call the man first, making sure that David was at home.
However, Evan had contacted David several times but was not also answered by the man. Angrily, he got out of the car and chose to go straight to David's house.
"Mr Evan?" said Maryam when she saw who the man who visited her house, of course she knew the superior of her son first.
"Sorry to interrupt your time, Buk. Can I meet David?" ask Evan.
Maryam then said that David was not at home, and coincided with the arrival of the husband with Bram.
"Who's Ma?" ask Danu, David's father. She and Bram had just walked out of the study, and intended to drive her sister home.
Maryam immediately turned her body when she heard the voice of the husband, as well as Evan who looked at Danu and Bram.
"You, Mr Evan?" yelled Danu as she stood in front of Evan, while Bram just remained silent with his forehead frowning deeply.
"Really, Sir. Sorry to interrupt your time, can I talk to you for a minute?" ask Evan. If he can't meet David, then there's no harm in him talking to the man's family.
Danu glanced at Bram when she heard Evan's words, she knew that the man would want to talk about what his son was doing.
"Well, please come in, sir." Danu immediately allowed Evan to enter, making Evan smile in relief.
Bram who was going home was forced to abandon his intention because of Evan's arrival, he immediately sent a message to David about all this, then sat down with them.
"I'm sorry if my arrival bothers you all, I must have made you feel uncomfortable" Evan said, of course, to provide comfort.
"It's okay, Mr. Evan. We are not at all disturbed" Danu replied. "Did you come here because you wanted to talk about the report that my son did?"
Danu's words were directly on target, making Evan nod weakly. He then tells about the intention of his arrival to apologize to David, as well as all the family of the man.
"I know if what I've done is ruining the good name of David and all of you, that's why I want to apologize profusely for the mistakes that have happened," evan said softly and his head bowed.
"Isn't your request too late, Mr Evan?"
