From that day on, Nayla became quiet. Aydin was confused by his wife's attitude. Even to eat alone the woman had to be forced several times. Today suddenly Nayla's attitude began to return as before, despite a hint of gloom in her heart.
"Mas, come on, have breakfast!" take Nayla with you when her husband is leaving for work.
"Yes, just a minute" said Aydin who was still in the room. Aydin saw Nayla today is neat, surely his wife wants to go out.
"Where are you going, honey?" ask Aydin.
"I'm going to the boutique, Mommy. I haven't been there for three days."
"Why not go there? There will be Fika and via that every day report the same to you."
"I miss the boutique situation, too."
"All right, but you're careful. Don't go anywhere by yourself. Take Fika or Via. I don't want something like yesterday to happen again."
"Yes, Mum."
"I'll take you first, and I'll go to the office."
"Are you not busy? If it's busy, I can go by car, really, Mas"
"I didn't do much this morning" answered Nayla.
They continued their breakfast. While enjoying a meal, the cell phone in Nayla's bag rang. His father's name was written there, and the woman immediately picked him up.
"Hello, assalamualaikum."
Without answering the greetings from Nayla, Roni just got angry. The man is out of money.
"How are you, anyway? Dad doesn't have any money. How many times do I have to remind you to send money immediately."
"Kan, it was only four days ago that I transferred him, Dad. Time's up? Yesterday was a lot."
"You're the same old man's reckoning once. Anyway I don't want to know. You need to transfer!"
Nayla was really furious at her father's behavior. He had already allowed the man to occupy his house and send money once a week, but Roni was completely ungrateful. Even though the man was his father, he still felt annoyed.
"I transferred yesterday. I, right, told you, I'll only transfer Dad once a week."
"But the money's up, I don't have any money at all."
"No money, it's because Dad used his money for gambling. I don't want to give you money just for doing illegal acts."
"You don't take parental advice."
"I'm just gonna transfer to a daily meal, the rest is up to where you're going."
Nayla immediately closed her call in annoyance whereas Roni had already said that she would change. However, the change is only temporary.
"What's up, honey?" ask Aydin.
"Dad asked for another money transfer. Just four days ago, I sent money" replied Nayla.
"Let me just transfer."
"It doesn't matter, Mas. I don't want it until you transfer to Dad. I've given him enough money for a week. I'm the one who used it the wrong way."
"Alright, it's up to you, but if you feel you need help you should tell me right away."
"Yes, Mum."
Aydin actually dislikes his in-laws, who like to be alone and take advantage of Nayla's kindness. He had already commemorated Roni, but the middle-aged man did not bully her.
Without Aydin knowing, that actually Nayla intends to go to the hospital, which a few days ago she came to. The woman decided to check on her. Nayla was ready to know about her illness. As to what he will live later, let time answer him.
The woman stopped a taxi passing by. Soon he told the taxi driver his goal. Nayla's palm began to cool, but from yesterday the woman had made up her mind, that she would face whatever the doctor would say. However, when the time came, why was he hesitating now?
Anxiety that controlled his mind, made him not realize, that he had arrived in front of the hospital.
"Sorry, Ma'am. It's up," the cab driver scolded.
"Sorry, Sir. I have too many thoughts."
"It's okay."
Nayla pays the taxi driver and steps into the room of a doctor, who has been recommended by Dr. Wiwin. It turns out that doctor, a man. Previously Nayla did not read the name of the doctor listed in the paper given by Doctor Wiwin so, she did not know if the doctor was a man. Inevitably, he had to keep checking himself.
After registering, Nayla was asked to wait along with other patients. Lots of women there. From young to old.
"How many times have you come here?" ask a woman sitting next to Nayla.
"This is the first time, Ma'am," replied Nayla.
"That means you don't know how much the pain is, huh?"
"Yes." Yeah."
"Mother is pregnant?" the woman asked Nayla with a nod and a smile. "Hopefully the baby's mama and grandpa are healthy."
"Amin, thank you for that."
"Yes, you're welcome."
"What pain does my own mother have?" ask the curious Nayla.
"I have breast cancer."
"Is it painful, Mommy?" ask Nayla again. He wanted to know a lot about the disease. At least the woman should be prepared for whatever will happen later.
"Any disease, it must be sick. We fell down just a little, it hurt. Let alone cancer," the woman replied with a smile.
Nayla was amazed at the woman in front of her. When things were like this, he could still smile. As for him, let alone a smile, trying to look fine, it was very difficult.
"My disease has spread to the lymph nodes. Actually I myself have also given up, but my husband always believed I could do the treatment so, I did it just for him and his family" she explained.
"Now where's the husband, Ma'am?"
"He was looking for a drink. Ma'am, why come alone?"
"Actually my husband doesn't know about what happened to me, Ma'am," Nayla replied with a lowered head and teary eyes.
"Why? Why didn't you tell me a story?"
"I'm afraid of the bad news the doctor told me later. I was afraid that if the doctor said he had to choose between me and my son, it would be certain that my husband would choose to save me and sacrifice my son. As a woman, I definitely understand how I feel. I've been waiting for him. Although the age of my marriage is only a corn, but I really expect his presence, if God should take my life. I will, just not my son. I wouldn't be able to live quietly, if I had to sacrifice my son's life. I will live in regret forever, because as a mother I cannot save my son's life and be more selfish" Nayla said in tears.
