Not the Perfect Wife

Not the Perfect Wife
229. S2 - Promise.

The word legitimately echoed in the hall of the building which was used as the venue for the wedding ceremony of the couple Khairi and afrin. Both of them feel happy, as well as the family and also the guests consisting of several relatives. As the man promised, the event was held on a massive basis. Several media outlets also covered the event.

Who does not know Khairi. A young entrepreneur whose name skyrocketed in the business world in the last two years. The young man with a firm and authoritative face. Who is not attracted to him. Any woman would surely be willing to queue up for him.

Everyone wants to know their personal lives too. However, Khairi has said that they can only cover during the event. Once that was done, the reporters had to turn off the cameras.

The prayer was recited by an Ustaz guaranteed by everyone present there. Afrin kissed the back of Khairi's hand which the man replied by kissing the forehead of the woman who had already become his legal wife.

Now the event was continued with sungkeman to the parents of the two brides. Yasna's tears can't be contained anymore. She was so moved to see the girl who once asked her to be a mother, she is now a wife.

Hugging the princess recalled the togetherness of the two of them, which she probably could not feel anymore because there was already a man who would be her back.

"Be a wife who obeys her husband. Never deny his orders unless they violate norms and religion. You must always remember God. Remind your husband if he makes a mistake. Reprimand him in a good way" Yasna said with tears still dripping. His embrace tightened, making Afrin unable to hold back her tears.

"Yes, Mother, thank you for the advice. I will always remember whatever Mother taught me" Afrian said.

The crying was felt by everyone who saw it. Emran also advised his daughter to be a good and obedient wife. The girl is no longer his responsibility. There was already a man who replaced his role.

"Titip Afrin, take good care of him, just like Papa took care of him. Don't let him shed tears of sorrow" Emran said, clasping his daughter-in-law's palm.

"I'll definitely take care of him, Om. Now that she's my wife, I deserve to make her happy."

"Don't call, Om. call Papa, like Afrin."

"Yes, pa."

The two brides turned their bow to Khairi's parents. However, when Afrin bowed to Mama Merry, the woman just shook hands for a while without saying, let alone hugging her daughter-in-law.

Afrin can feel if Mama Merry does not like it, but yesterday the woman was very dear to him. Khairi understood that his mother did not like his wife because of Afrin's attitude yesterday. The man immediately took the wife to stand up. She did not want her mother's treatment to be the highlight.

After the event was over, the couple and their families, went to the nearest hotel that had been prepared. They should take a break for the reception later.

"Pa, it seems like Mrs Merry doesn't like Afrin. Papa, look, right, sungkeman time! She seemed reluctant to be touched by Afrin" Yasna told her husband as they reached the hotel room.

"That's a feeling, Mother, just a time."

Emran felt it too. However, he did not want his wife to think. The man also knew the reason Merry didn't like Afrin.

"No, as a woman, I can feel it. Even the look in his eyes on Afrin, like someone who doesn't like."

"Don't go too far, Mother. If it is true, Mrs Merry does not like Afrin, Papa is sure, the son of Papa can melt his heart-in-law. Think of it as a maturing process for him. He's still young. The steps will be more winding, a lot he will go through later and it must be."

"Stay still, Pa. From little Mother always took care of him, but now she had to receive a cynical look from her in-laws. After all Mrs Merry, right, the substitute Mother when in her house Khairi."

"We pray that Afrin will be fine. Mother must believe in Mother's child." Despite doubts Yasna kept nodding, under no circumstances would she ever forget to pray for her children. This time the woman prayed that Afrin would be given the strength to melt her in-laws' hearts.

While in the newlyweds' room, Afrin was still sitting on the edge of Khairi's bed and approached her and immediately hugged her.

"Eh, you just surprised me" Afrin chanted.

"You still owe me an explanation, dear," Khairi said in a whisper right in the woman's ear.

"What explanation?" ask Afrin who's trying to stay calm. But now he is not okay. How could Khairi just hug him, without giving a cue. Of course it surprised him.

"You don't know, what's pretending not to know?"

"I don't really know. What the hell do you mean?"

"How did you get to be here? Though before my man came back and said you guys kicked him out."

"Indeed I drove them away, after finishing my makeup of course," Afrin replied with a chuckle.

"Keep, regarding this kebaya, you bought it? This isn't the kebaya I bought."

"Yes, dong! I also wanted to choose myself, the clothes I would wear on my wedding day because everything was sudden so, I chose the finished one."

"You are beautiful wearing this kebaya" said Khairi. "You made me almost lose the world because I thought you would stick with your stance to reject me."

"To be honest from a few days ago, I still had the chuckle to cancel this wedding, but when I spent time in a cafe with Zahra, I saw Vira. He was with a man. From there I know that he doesn't really love you. He only uses you because of your greatness or the connections you have perhaps."

"Whatever the reason, I'm glad you came at the right time. I'm the one who came late."

Khairi did not care what reason made his wife finally come, but he was grateful that they were now legitimate. The man hoped that whatever test they would face later, everything could be passed well.

"I want to say something" Afrin said, trying to take off Khairi's embrace and face the man.

"What's wrong?" khairi asked with both palms of his wife.

"Please promise never to betray me. No matter what happens, you should always tell me. Even if it hurts me. I want us to be honest. I don't want any secrets that will destroy our household. You want to promise?"

"Of course, whatever I'll do for you and I'll protect you, no matter what. Even if I have to give up my life, I will," Khairi said by rubbing his wife's cheek.
