Not the Perfect Wife
216. S2 - Ivan's

"So how's Afrin? Do you want to accept it or not? Don't tell me it's up to Papa, Mommy or whatever!" emran asked making everyone look back at the girl.

Afrin was confused as to what to answer. He wanted to accept it, but was too embarrassed to say yes. The girl lowered her head, slowly she slightly nodded her head. Of course it makes Khairi happy.

The feeling of anxiety and fear that had previously occupied him, now disappeared just like that replaced with happiness that was immeasurable.

"You've seen the answer for yourself, haven't you!" emran told Khairi.

"Yes, Om" replied the man. "May I ask the same Om?"

"Yes, just ask."

"Why does Om not want to test me to read the Quran or practice prayer, perhaps?"

"I don't need to test it, it's your business with God."

"Didn't you want to marry Afrin to someone who can take her to heaven?"

"I see you've been very trying and I'm confident in my daughter's strength. He can certainly make you more obedient to God" said Emran.

"Papa was too complimentary, I'm not that great" said Afrin.

"Have it, don't discuss now how will your relationship continue? Want to go ahead now or wait for Afrin to graduate?"

"Continue now, Om," Khairi said quickly. He can't wait for Afrin to graduate. College has just entered how many months there has not been a semester. There could be more sins that he would commit later.

"How, Afrin? You agree?"

"I agree, Pa. I don't want to sin either."

"Since you have agreed to get married soon, when are you going to introduce us to your parents? They don't know Afrin either."

"Fastly, Om. I will tell my parents. About, um, when is the time? I know that Om a busy man."

"I'm not that busy, so I don't have time for my daughter's future. Just ask your parents, when do they have time? We'll definitely come."

Everyone knew Emran was busy, but for the man, nothing was more important than his family. He can rebuild his company if it goes bankrupt, but it will be very difficult to see the happiness of his family if Emran has failed them.

"Yes, Om. I'll ask you later" replied Khairi. "Because my business is done, I want to say goodbye first" said Khairi who could not wait to meet his parents.

He wanted to immediately tell all of his parents and wave Afrin. Hopefully they will accept the girl to be a daughter-in-law.

"Don't go home, we'll have breakfast together. You guys haven't had breakfast, have you?" bargain Yasna.

Khairi looked at Ivan, both of them had not had breakfast this morning because the man wanted to get to the house of his future wife. His assistant also had a chance to grumble because it came too early so, had not done anything, including breakfast.

"It's okay, you guys wait here. Auntie wants to see if Rani is ready yet to serve breakfast. You guys talk first."

Yasna immediately went inside to help Rani. Everyone is back talking.

"Master, why don't you go home" whispered Ivan, not wanting to be heard by anyone else.

"I'm not happy to refuse the offer of a future in-law. Indeed why?" khairi asked back, also while whispering because he felt strange with Ivan.

Usually he just goes along with what his boss said, but why now seems to refuse. His behavior from earlier was also strange, like hiding something.

"It's okay, sir," he replied.

Khairi did not bother with Ivan's words. He went back to talking to Emran and Aydin.

"Come, we'll have breakfast! Everything is ready!" take Yasna.

Everyone went to the dining room. There looks Rani who is still arranging some dishes with Nayla. Ivan slowed his pace.

"Take your breakfast, let's rame all of you."

He knew the employer would definitely force him if the woman did not leave immediately. Yasna's been too kind to him. Rani did not want to be considered taking advantage of her employer because it was better that she eat later, when everyone was done.

After Rani's departure, everyone sat in a chair. Only Ivan remained who was still standing while staring in the direction Rani left.

"Why are you still standing?" ask Yasna.

"It's okay, ma'am," replied Ivan and immediately sat down on Khairi's side chair.

"Don't call, Mom. Call Auntie. Like Khairi."

"I'm not tasty. I'm, right, just a driver."

"It's okay. Auntie sure Khairi already thinks of you like a friend so just call Auntie, yeah!"

"I–iya, Auntie," answered Ivan a little stiffly with the occasional man looking towards the door leading to the back of the house.

Yasna who saw it was curious, why did the friend of his future daughter-in-law look back? Just then Rani goes inside the house to get the laundry.

The unconscious Ivan continued to look at the girl and it made Yasna understand that Ivan was putting his heart on his domestic assistant.

"Son Ivan already has a lover?" ask Yasna. However, it was not answered by the man.

Ivan was still cool to look at Rani until Khairi who was beside him also nudged his legs. Make that guy flutter.

"What's up, anyway?"

"Tante Yasna is like you! Just daydream," said Khairi.

"Ah, yes, Aunt. What's up?"

Yasna smiled and repeated her question. "Son Ivan already has a lover?"

"Not yet, Aunt."

"You want Auntie to find it?" asked Yasna who deliberately wanted to tease the man.

"No need, Aunt. I still want to be alone."

"Surely, nih! Though Aunty wants to find a man for Rani if indeed you do not want, yes, then Aunt will find another man who wants to be betrothed with Rani," yasna said excitedly as she glanced at Ivan.

"No, Auntie!" tell the man quickly.

Make everyone look in his direction. Instantly Ivan misbehaved because he felt wrong to say. In the heart of the man was feeling uneasy. What if it was true as Yasna said, that the woman would find a man for Rani.

Just now he felt a tremor in his chest, now it had been destroyed again.

"Why don't you get a Aunt to find a mate for Rani?" khairi asked with a careful look at Ivan.

"It's not so, sir. It's just that maybe Rani already has a boyfriend of her own, so!" ivan replied awkwardly.

"It's Aunt Yasna's business with Rani, it's none of your business" said Khairi, who felt there was something behind Ivan's words.

"Yes, Sir. Sorry, Auntie, I got mixed up."

"It's okay. You're right, I'll ask him later" Yasna said. "Please continue eating."
