Not the Perfect Wife

Not the Perfect Wife
310. S2 - Will talk

Papa Hamdan's funeral went well. Merry was sitting next to her husband. But everyone has gone home. Only a few close relatives. Nur and Laily are still there.

"Merry's sister, I go home first" said the woman's sister.

Merry said nothing. He just shakes it up. Until Afrin who took the role to thank the tantenya.

"Thank you, Auntie, for taking the time to come."

"As appropriate. Take good care of your in-laws, yeah! He must be very hurt."

"Yes, Aunt. I must have taken care of him."

Merry's sister also said goodbye to Khairi. She went with her husband.

"Ma, come on, let's go home! It's already afternoon. We'll get back in Ivan's car" Afrin said.

Merry nodded and passed along Afrin followed Khairi behind him. The two women boarded Ivan's car as they had left earlier. While Khairi, Nur and Laily boarded his car driven by the company's driver.

Once home, Merry entered his room with Afrin still in company. The woman had asked her son-in-law to return to the room, but Afrin refused on the grounds of wanting to accompany her. The door was knocked by someone from outside and entered Bik Asih with a tray.

"Madam Merry, Non Afrin, you better eat first. No one had breakfast yet."

"Thank you, Bik" said Afrin, who was taken by Bik Asih, then looked at her in-laws. "Mama, eat alone or do I want a bribe?"

"Mama is not hungry. You're the one who ate," refused Merry.

"Mama from morning has not eaten. How do you say not hungry? I know Mama is sad, but don't forget about health. If papa finds out, he'll definitely feel sad."

Merry stared at Afrin. He felt lucky to have a daughter-in-law like her. But now Hamdan is no more. Is it appropriate that the woman still considers him a daughter-in-law? A single tear fell on Merry's cheek, making Afrin feel sad.

"Mom eat, yes," persuaded Afrin again.

"Papa no longer exists. Do I deserve to call you Mama? Moreover, I have also done something that is not good for you," said Merry slowly.

"Mama is my father-in-law at any time. Although now there is Mother Nur, but Mama has her own place in my heart. I hope Mama doesn't think that's not-no."

"Thank you, you are a good woman" Merry said. "Let Mama eat alone."

Merry took out a plate containing food in the hands of her daughter-in-law. Afrin was happy to see that. He took another plate on the table and ate it too. The two smiled at each other.

Afrin hopes after this Merry steadfastly faces every problem. He would not let his in-laws feel sad.

While in the dining room, Khairi was alone. The man had no appetite at all. All the relatives have gone home, as have his mother and sister. Bik Asih and Fatma also prefer to eat in the back.

Khairi then thought, is this what his father felt when he was busy with his mother and sister to forget about other families? The man remembered the wife who always contacted her family and talked about many things. Honey, he can't be like that.

He did not want this problem to run. Khairi must apologize to his mother and wife. The man immediately moved from his seat to Mama Merry. Whatever he will receive later, he will accept.

In front of the door of his mother's room, Khairi stood by breathing a few times. He knocked on the door several times, until it sounded authentic from within asking him to come in immediately. Slowly but surely the man opened the door and entered the room.

Khairi approached her mother who was sitting leaning on the head of the bed with a plate of rice in her hand. While Afrin sat on the edge of the bed beside her mother. She was grateful that Mama Merry was still paying attention to her health. Although it can be seen if the woman is not tasteful. The eyes that once exuded decisiveness, now dimmed as if lifeless.

"Pa, did something happen to Afrin's family-in-law? How come, I feel like there's something, huh?" yasna asked her husband while they were enjoying dinner.

"Bun—"

"Don't tell me you're gossiping!" cut Yasna off before her husband continued his words.

"Mother is gossiping, right?" emran.

"Yes, but this is about our daughter, Pa!"

"Afrin is our daughter, but don't forget she's a wife. He's not our responsibility anymore, unless he's the one who came to us for help."

Yasna. It is true what her husband said. But as a mother, she could not bear to see her daughter grieving. Hopefully Afrin can solve the problem wisely.

Since childhood Afrin always got whatever he wanted. However, that does not mean she becomes a spoiled woman who can only relax. She can also be stout and strong beyond the average woman.

They continued to eat dinner quietly. Aydin actually wanted to ask his mother, but hearing the papa's comments like that, he abandoned his intentions. Maybe later when he met his sister, the man could ask.

At night, Yasna could not sleep. He still thinks about his daughter, though Emran says everything will be fine, still the woman is worried. Yasna turned her body to the left and to the right and woke her husband up.

"What's up, honey?" emran asked with a distinctive hoarse voice of waking up.

"There's nothing, Mas" replied Yasna. "Mas, wake up, sorry, yeah!"

"You can't lie. What was? You still thinking about Afrin?"

Yasna nodded her head. He tried to close his eyes. However, it does not make him sleep, it makes the woman more anxious. Emran who understood immediately hugged his wife. Yasna was already used to this if she was agitated.

He used to take sleeping pills to sleep and calm his mind. Though at that time the problem was so trivial especially now Afrin who clearly had a problem.

"I've told you a lot not to worry about kids too much. They're all grown-ups. Let them think for themselves. We cannot always accompany them. You saw Mr. Hamdan. No one knows if he died today. So will we."

"Yes, Pa. I've tried not to worry, but still the feeling just pops up."

"Slow down, I can."

Yasna nodded. He will try to look fine from today. Even if it is difficult, he will try. Emran invited his wife to talk until she fell asleep in his arms. The man was glad the wife no longer harbored her own problems.

Emran also followed Yasna to dreamland, hoping that tomorrow all problems can be resolved properly.
