Not the Perfect Wife

Not the Perfect Wife
215. S2 - Second application

"Assalamualaikum," said Yasna who had just come out.

"Waalaikumsalam, Auntie," Khairi said as she greeted Yasna followed by Ivan.

"Shortly, yeah! Rani again called Afrin."

"Yes, Aunt."

"How are you doing?"

"It's been great, Auntie. Actually I'm here to meet with Auntie and also Om."

"Is there anything important?"

"I think it's important, Auntie."

Yasna looked at the young man in front of her. It seemed like there was indeed something that the man wanted to say. Though curious she still called her husband.

"Yes, then Aunt call first. Maybe still sleeping."

Yasna went back to her room to wake her husband up. Every Sunday, Emran wakes up more during the day if there is no event. Only on that day can he relax.

"Van, why does my heart beat faster, huh? Hopefully everything is not messy," said Khairi by wiping his chest in order to reduce his nervousness.

While Ivan just silently listened without wanting to chimed in. She herself couldn't control her heartbeat when she saw the woman who opened the door.

"Please drink, sir. Soon Non Afrin down," said Rani while putting drinks for her guests.

He smiled at the two sitting men. However, Rani feels strange with the man beside Khairi because when the woman sees him, the man looks away.

"Thank you" said Ivan without looking at him, while Khairi immediately drank his drink.

The nervousness made his throat suddenly feel dry. It was not long before Afrin came out along with her parents. Even Aydin also sat in the living room. They talked for a while before discussing something serious.

"So what do you want to say? Said your aunt wanted to say something important?" emran asked after a bit of pleasantry.

"Look, Om. My arrival here wants to continue my previous conversation. I wanted to propose to Afrin to be my wife" Khairi said, leaving everyone shocked except Emran. As a man. He understood Khairi's intentions and purposes.

"Have you met the conditions I've applied for?"

"Already, Om. Although not perfect. I understand and Alhamdulillah can do it."

Emran sighed for a moment before continuing his words. He had to speak carefully so as not to hurt the man.

"The answer to your question, there are only two, you are accepted and you are not. I would like to ask you what would you do if your application was accepted and what if it wasn't?"

"If my application is not accepted, I will ask about my shortcomings and I will try to fulfill them. However, if it does not meet the standards that Om wants, maybe Afrin is not my soul mate. Hopefully I can sincerely accept it and if I am accepted, I want to get married soon because I don't want to add sin."

"Don't you know that my daughter didn't want to get married before she graduated from college?"

"I wouldn't get in the way of her wishes if she wanted to go to college or do whatever she wanted. I just want to be legitimate, because I can't possibly be in a relationship with a woman. I could have been a khilaf. I'm not a kid to play with" Emran replied confidently.

Emran nodded. "Oh, yes, there's one more that I haven't asked you yet and I have to make sure of that first" Emran said. Making everyone stare at the man as if asking what was so important that Emran wanted to ask?

"What, Om?" ask Khairi.

"Yes, what, Pa?" tanya Yasna was also curious.

"Papa, this is all there is" Yasna reprimanded by hitting her husband's shoulder.

"Papa, don't you want to make sure, mother!" bela Emran's.

He didn't want to be late knowing that later. Yesterday, when he was asked about his religion, the man did not know.

"I've been circumcised, Om, really and I don't want to be circumcised again when I have, Om," replied Khairi, still covering his maleness with both hands.

Aydin tried to hold back his laughter. He really did not expect to be asked such a question from his papa.

Fortunately the man still remembered that he had been circumcised that there would be no drama between each other. Please think for yourself.

"Sister!" yasna's Reprimand to Aydin.

"Yes, Mother," answered Aydin who tried to control himself.

While Afrin looked away in shame to hear the answer from Khairi. As a girl, it is certainly very embarrassing to hear such a discussion.

"It is good that if you have been circumcised and regarding your answer, Om has no power to do so. All decisions depend on Afrin, he has more right to answer," Emran said, making everyone look at the girl waiting for her to say the answer.

"How, Brother?" yasna asked because the girl did not speak.

"I'm .. I'm up to Mommy" Afrin replied at last.

"Cock, is it up to Mommy? Isn't it the Mother who's being proposed?" ask Yasna. He understood that if his daughter had started to have feelings for Khairi, it was just that Afrin would be ashamed to answer yes.

Khairi could only take a deep breath to fill the air in his chest that felt tight. It's not easy to get a girl in Afrin's class. Is this also karma for him who has always rejected all women harshly?

"Alright, because the answer is up to Mother, Mother will answer it. Sorry, yes, Khairi. Mother rejected this proposal," Yasna said without further ado.

Khairi was surprised to hear that. She did not expect that her proposal would actually be rejected and this time by Mother Yasna. It was not only the man who was shocked. Afrin was just as surprised, she thought her mother had started to like Khairi.

Seeing that Yasna's concern for the man who helped her daughter. Who would have thought if the woman still refused.

"Cock, rejected Mother!" exclamation Afrin.

"Kan, was he said it was up to Mother? Yes already, Mother replied Mother refused. You don't want to answer yourself."

"Mother, I think Mother would accept."

"Some of you if you want, just say you want, use it up to Mommy," said Yasna to make everyone in the room smile.

Everyone now knew what the answer was from the girl, without asking anymore. Especially Khairi, the man's face was smiling so widely. It turns out what he felt all along was true. The girl was already in love with him, meaning his love did not clap one hand.

Khairi prayed that his household would be happy in the world and the Hereafter. In his heart he promised to try to make Afrin happy and put the woman's interests ahead of him.
