Not the Perfect Wife

Not the Perfect Wife
194. S2 - Nuri does not want to

"Mas, I can't wait to see my daughter" Nayla said as they were on the plane.

Today they returned to Indonesia. All the tests showed that Nayla had recovered from her illness. Very grateful for the whole family.

It had been a long time for that woman to wait for this day to arrive. One year, not a long time, not even a moment, but there are many things that he has passed about the growth of his daughter.

"I miss him a lot too, baby. He must be happy when he meets you. You see, right? He's always smiling and video calls you."

"Yes, Mas," Nayla replied with a smile, imagining how happy her daughter's face was.

They didn't feel like they were at the airport. It appears there was already Mr. Hari and Afrin who picked them up.

"Sir Nayla!" afrin shouted as she ran towards her sister-in-law who was currently wearing a hijab, not just to cover her hair that was growing a little. That's because he also wants to be a better person.

"Sir Nayla is now hijab-wearing?" ask Afrin.

"Alhamdulillah, I want to be a better human being" Nayla replied with a smile.

Afrin just nodded. Suddenly the girl remembered her best friend who died one year ago. He also used the hijab.

"Here you go, come on, let's go home! I miss Nuri" asked Aydin.

"Yes, come on."

"Sir Hari, you help me get a suitcase, okay?" Aydin.

"Yes, Sir." Day soon helps bring Aydin's suitcase.

They boarded the car and left the airport. During the journey Afrin recounts all the customs of Nuri. Whatever the little girl did while she was gathering with all the family. Nayla was excited to hear that.

Until it does not feel the car they are riding up to the yard. Emran and Yasna were on the porch holding Nuri. The little girl looked so beautiful today.

"Assalamualaikum" said Nayla.

"Waalaikumsalam, darling. How are you doing?" yasna asked while hugging Nayla even though Nuri was in her carriage.

"Well, Mother," answered Nayla then turned to the little girl who was in Yasna's arms. "Hi, Honey. This is Mama" he said as he grabbed Nuri into his carrier.

Suddenly the little girl was crying hysterically. She thrashed around refusing to be in her mother's arms overwhelmed Nayla.

"Why cry? It's mama" said Nayla. However, Nuri the more hysterical she rebelled, unwilling to be carried by the woman.

The little girl asked Yasna for help and stretched out her hands to carry her. Making the woman unable to bear and immediately grabbed Nuri back.

"Why is Oma's grandson crying? Look at that Mama," Yasna persuaded. However, Nuri refused and asked to enter the house.

Nayla's eyes are glazed. Why did her daughter refuse when she wanted to carry? Though the woman had missed the embrace of her daughter.

"You're patient maybe Nuri still needs to adjust to you. You have not met in person. Previously only through video calls," said Emran tried to calm his daughter-in-law. He didn't want his daughter-in-law to misunderstand.

"Yes, Pa. I understand."

"Hey, why is Papa's son crying? This is Mama loh, dear," Aydin persuaded, but the little girl would not. She hugged Yasna's neck tightly, as if afraid that if she missed, someone would carry her.

Aydin felt sorry for his wife. She knew how enthusiastic Nayla was when this day arrived, but the woman had to be disappointed by Nuri's refusal.

"Maybe it takes time, Nay. He was so scared, his chest was beating so fast. Mother is afraid that like this she will get sick. Don't force it, just slow down. You know, she's very sick?" Yasna.

He knows how his grandson is doing. Indeed, since birth, Nuri was very easily sick. Even just being surprised can make him have a fever. Especially hysterical like this.

"Come, we're in!" bring Emran.

They all came in and sat in the living room. Yasna tries to calm her grandson down along with Rani in the dining room. Nayla could only see from afar with teary eyes.

"Already, Honey. You are patient first, later too long, he will want to be with you," said Aydin trying to comfort his wife.

"I'm envious, same Rani, Mas. Nuri can be close to him, but I'm just scared."

"Sama Rani's meeting every day, baby. That's why he's close. Nuri's son is difficult to get close to people, but if he already knows, he will be very fond of that person."

"Would I be like that too?"

"certainly could. That's why we have to try. We'll try together, yeah!"

"Now you should rest. You must also be tired of boarding the plane" said Aydin so that Nayla can forget a moment of sadness.

"Yes, right. You better rest too. Tomorrow you try to slowly invite him to play. He likes to play with dolls" Emran said.

"Yes, Pa. We're gonna take a break." The two went to the room to rest.

After Aydin and Nayla are nowhere to be seen. Emran approaches Nuri who is with Yasna. They were playing the little girl's favorite doll.

Nuri is the first grandchild in the family. No wonder that whatever his needs must have been met, without being asked and Yasna the most enthusiastic of all.

"The Queen is calm, dear?" ask Emran.

"Already, Mas. He doesn't seem to recognize Nayla when we've been talking to her on video calls."

"The same video call met in person for a child of Nuri's age is different, dear."

"Yes, I was also shocked when Nuri cried like that. During this time he rarely cried, even when sick he only whined. Not crying like that."

"She just needs time" said Emran, who was embraced by Yasna.

In the afternoon Nuri plays with Afrin in the park behind Nayla just looking from afar. The woman had approached, but instead the little girl stopped her game and hugged her aunt.

Afrin felt bad for Nayla, but no matter how else, she did not want to force her hands either.

By nightfall, Nuri's body is hot. All the family knew it was because of this incident. It's just that no one dared to say it. Fear of hurting Nayla.

Yasna's already given him a heat sink. The woman held her granddaughter in a cloth sling because Nuri refused to sleep. Even when Afrin wanted to take turns asking her, the little girl did not want to.

"Mother, let me be the fat one. Mommy must be tired" said Nayla who felt sorry for her in-laws.

"He's not being replaced, Nay. It is better not to, Mother is afraid that she will get sicker" said Yasna.

Actually she felt bad talking like that, but Yasna did not want her grandson to get sick, especially if it had to be treated.
