Not the Perfect Wife
290. S2 - Out of town

"Wait a minute, I'll ask you. Whether Bu Aini is still teaching or not" said Wulan, who is a member of Khairi and Afrin.

The woman stayed away from her employer and her family. She wanted to contact her mother and ask about Ms. Aini. Actually Wulan was a little hesitant, but considering how kind Yasna was, the woman believed. Moreover, Rani is also quite close to Afrin, meaning they are good people.

"Who is Aini, Frin?" ask Mother Yasna whispering.

"She's Mas Khairi's real mother, Mommy. Later the story, not good at a time like this," Afrin replied in a whisper.

Yasna nodded and did not ask again. He knows enough if the situation is not right. Moreover, Afrin also said different things to his assistant. Wulan returned after closing her call. He walked closer to Khairi and Afrin.

"Bu Aini has stopped teaching, Non, but still lives in the village. Mother said, he often fell ill since a year ago," said Wulan.

"ill? What pain?" ask Khairi.

"My mother doesn't know, sir. I'm just saying, Madam Laily used to take her to the midwife."

"Laily? Is he Miss Aini's son?" ask Khairi.

"Yes, Sir. Understandably, we people are less able, to see a doctor would require a high cost especially to the hospital so, Ms. Laily just took her to the midwife."

"Mbak Wulan, can I have his address? We want to see him. Hopefully we can help with the treatment" Pinta Afrin.

"Yes, Mother. May I have the address! Or, Ma'am, just come with us there. Show us the way to the village" suggested Khairi then turned to look at Yasna. "May, right, Mother, I bring Sister Wulan?"

Everyone stared at Yasna, waiting for a reply from the woman. The one who was stared at felt confused because for him it was not a thing that needed permission from him. Wulan has the right to go anywhere.

"Why are you all staring at Mother like that?" yasna asked while looking at everyone.

"Mother, permission or not, Mas Khairi brought Mbak Wulan to show the residence of Bu Nur Aini?" ask Afrin.

"It's up to Wulan, just ask the same person. Mother never forbid him to go because it has not been tied to the same job Mother. Two more days, the decision made Mbak Wulan accepted no!" answer Yasna.

"Mom, if I'm going to leave, it doesn't have any effect on my judgment, Mom, on my job, does it?" ask Wulan.

"Nothing, Ma'am. Besides, helping people is good."

"Alhamdulillah, then I will, Non, Sir, but later I may, right, stop by my mother's house? It's been two years that I haven't been home" Wulan told Afrin and Khairi. The woman smiled imagining the happy faces of her mother and son.

"Two years? Why haven't you been home for two years?" ask Afrin.

"Return is expensive, Non. Not to mention the brothers must ask for souvenirs. If now the same, Non, can make a reason to deliver so, do not bring anything," replied Wulan innocently.

Afrin just nodded. He no longer asked because he did not know what kind of difficulties his assistant was going through.

"So, when can we go, Ma'am? Or just now, how?" ask Khairi who can't wait to meet her real mother.

"It's night, Mas. Tomorrow, Ma'am Wulan also needs a break," said Afrin who felt bad for Wulan who was certainly tired because the day had been working.

"I'm up to it, sir. Do you drive for 5 hours? Even if we leave right now, we cannot meet with Ms. Aini because we arrived at her around midnight. There's no way we're going to people's houses at that hour" said Wulan.

Khairi and Afrin seemed to think about how the solution was to be equally calm. The woman knew that her husband would also not be able to calm down before he could meet his mother. Likewise with Wulan who can not wait to meet his son.

"To him, Sister Wulan, get ready now. My husband and I want to go home for a while to get clothes and other necessities. We also need someone to replace the car driver. We leave at eleven o'clock so we arrive around dawn. We can go to Wulan's parents first. Bu Aini's house is not far, is it, from home, Sister Wulan?" ask Afrin.

"No, Non, it's still a village. Just go in the alley" replied Wulan.

"How, Mas?"

"Agree, dear," said Khairi.

"You take Mr. Hari. Let's bring your own car tomorrow" said Emran.

"Yes, Pa" said Afrin after a moment of thought. "I'll call Mr. Hari first."

Afrin called Mr. Hari's cell phone and asked him to come out of town. She also explained that her husband needed people to take turns driving cars. Luckily the man agreed to come along, there just happened to be no need.

"Alhamdulillah, Mr. Hari agreed. Let's go home first, Mas," take Afrin. "We also have to bring some photos as proof that you are papa's son. Fear Bu Nur does not believe," she continued whispering to her husband.

Khairi and Afrin say goodbye to everyone to go home first. Actually Yasna still had plans for the barbeque, but considering what her daughter-in-law and daughter were going to do was more important so, she let them go home. The event also forced the woman to cancel. It was impossible for them to have fun in the midst of the troubles that befell Khairi and Afrin.

Ivan and Rani went home. They also had no interest in the house anymore. Yasna also did not ban the event because he had canceled. Next time I hope they get together again.

"Mas, are we going to tell Papa Hamdan and Mama Meri about Mama Nur's whereabouts?" ask Afrin on the way.

"Just be told, darling. Sooner or later they will know. If later we are there not to meet Mama Nur, it's okay. Papa and Mama will understand."

Afrin nodded according to her husband's wishes. There is also a truth to what Khairi said. Honesty is necessary now. Hopefully Mama Meri does not feel burdened with what will happen later.

Before arriving home, Afrin asked her husband to stop by the toy store. He wanted to buy Mama Wulan's son some toys and dolls. The woman asked the gender of her son Wulan, who was a woman.

The car they were riding finally arrived at home. Khairi tidied up some clothes and also some photos found in the warehouse. Fortunately, Papa Hamdan and Mama Merry are asleep, so there is no reason to leave tonight.

The two only told Bik Asih who happened to be still awake. Khairi explains that he has to get out of town tonight as well. As to what his work will be let the man himself explain. The middle-aged woman simply nodded, obeying the request of her employer's son.
