Linda came to Adi in her study. Tonight feels quiet. So does the feeling of Adi who is now pensive on his desk. He saw a wall clock that showed 12 p.m. He let Helen who had been waiting for him to sleep.
“You haven't slept yet, Why not move to the room?” Linda immediately sat in front of Adi who did not change the position of her head facing the ceiling of the room with her eyes closed.
He sighed with a feeling of anxiety, then straightened the position of the body to face Linda, “Mama herself why not rest? Not good for health mama.”
Linda looked at Adi with a sad look, “Mama could not sleep, the shadow of the little girl in the restaurant was disturbing mama.”
Adi looked at Linda in surprise, “What do you think?” He said softly, seeing his mother who was getting older and not excited since his father left him made him feel anxious.
Linda's eyes glazed over, “Entahlah. When she looked at him, she felt like hugging him. His face reminds me of when I was a kid. Mama felt sad, because she could not get close to him.” Linda said.
Adi was silent to hear his mother's words. How can he and his mother feel the same feeling when they see Hasya who is the daughter of his best friend. Every time he looked at the plain boy's face, that yearning feeling of wanting to touch and hug him was so strong.
“You have been married to Helen for three years, but until now Helen has not been able to give you offspring. Twice she was pregnant, but always miscarried, was there no medicine to strengthen her uterus. You're getting old, Tama. You and Helen are no longer young, at the age of 38 years, at least you already have a son.”
He was restless, how his mother forgot that he had twin sons who until now he had never been aware of their existence. The longing for the twins suddenly gnawed at his heart. He was sick, because he endured the longing for his two sons, who from childhood very rarely chatted with them.
He opened his papa's locked desk drawer. He scrunched his forehead as he looked at a yellow map that was neatly wrapped. Pull the map and open it slowly.
“Tes whose DNA?” Adi was curious about the test results that were in his hands. He read carefully the results 99.438% accurate. He pulled deeper, some photos falling on the floor.
Adi quickly took photos scattered on the floor. He saw a picture of the twins playing. It looks like Hani is holding a very cute baby girl. Adi could not describe his current feelings.
“Why does this feeling hurt?” batin Adi lirih's. He rubbed his chest which suddenly felt pain.
Linda saw a change in her son's countenance. He took photos and files scattered on the workbench that Adi is now using, “If only Helen did not have a miscarriage, maybe your child is 3 years old.” Linda looked at the photo carefully. There was a longing tucked in his heart to see the healthy-looking twins. But her selfishness led Linda to put the photo back.
“Find the most excellent doctor to treat your wife. It is free to be rich and educated if you cannot give offspring. If it doesn't work, you should get married again, find a woman who can give you a child.” Linda said without thinking.
“What did you forget, if I already had a child?” Adi tried to remind his mother that he had other grandchildren.
“We have nothing to do with that poor girl. Once you are separated, have we not fulfilled all our obligations. So my mom didn't want the girl's offspring. Take Helen on medication until she gives birth to your child.”
Adi was silent to Linda's words. He wanted to fight and fight his mother's words. But there is still a heart to take care of. Adi felt wrong. The longing for the twins suddenly came to disturb his mind. Especially when looking at Hani's appearance which has now changed. The two-year separation made Hani more mature in attitude and appearance. Adi has no idea what happened to her feelings when she met Hani after the breakup.
That afternoon Marisa and her friends deliberately held a reunion with her High School friends at A2H Cafe and restaurant. Their colleague Anggraeni had recommended them to gather there.
“Wah, the place is interesting yes..” Marisa admires the very slick arrangement of cafes and restaurants. He walked with Anggraeni looking to the side of the restaurant because he was interested in the park and the pond that was not far from the restaurant.
“I often bring my grandkids to play here.” Anggraeni said proudly. “Owner is still young, jeng. And very friendly.”
Marisa's eyes stared at a young woman wearing a robe while walking carrying 3 toddlers playing in the park not far from them. He was transfixed to see Hasya running around, so the young woman was troubled.
Marisa broke away from the group of 20 people, and it just so happened that Linda could not come, because there were other activities that could not be disturbed.
Marisa walks up to them, “Good day, son.” Gentle greeting Marisa. “Is she your daughter?” His eyes were fixed on Hasya who was laughing at the pleasure of not being able to catch her.
Hani looked at Marisa in surprise. He smiled at Marisa, “True, ma'am. Can I help you?” Hani asked politely.
A big smile on Marisa's lips. He likes the choice of Faiq. And he will fight to unite his son with the young woman. His eyes glazed over at Hani.
“Can mom hug you?” Marisa spread both hands. Her maternal instinct is so strong as to protect a child who is going through a painful event, let alone after learning of the life of the young woman in front of her.
With a feeling of wonder, Hani welcomes Marisa's hand and hugs the woman who may be the age of her late mother. He closed his eyes and felt a warmth he had never felt for a long time. His tears suddenly dripped, unable to hold.
“Why are you crying, son?” Marisa looked into those clear eyes feelingly. It was like finding a daughter looking at the figure of Hani who was so soft and sincere, her beauty was very natural to make Marisa's heart so peaceful to look at him.
Hani rubbed his tears while smiling softly, “I remember my late mother who had long died.”
Marisa rubbed Hani's shoulder gently, “Today consider me as your mother's replacement. Coincidentally the mother has no daughters, only naughty boys who often trouble the mother.”
Hearing Marisa's words, Hani smiled with relief. He called his three children who were still playing fun in a small fish pond.
“Who is this grandma, mother?” Ariq looked at the foreign woman standing beside Hani. He felt astonished, because all this time no one else was familiar with his mother.
“Call oma only yes.” Marisa answered quickly. He stared one after another at the face of the boy standing in front of him in astonishment.
“Good, Oma.” Arik answered politely.
Hani introduces her son one by one and Hasya who is eating chocolate, so her menthol cheeks are straw, making them smile at her cuteness.
Marisa begins to judge the face of the twins, Ariq looks more like Hani, while Ali is a combination of Hani and her ex-husband, and the tiny one is indeed a replica of Adi, only her eyes belong to Hani. Sadness surrounds Marisa's heart, imagining the fate of Hani, who lived a widow at a young age, taking care of her three sons and daughters. He scratched his chest which suddenly felt pain. He who knows Hani's suffering feels tremendous sadness, especially the young woman in front of him, how did he live his very hard day?
“Yes Allah. And give protection for them.” Marisa prayed in her heart to see the scene that so disturbed her.
At dinner with her husband Darmawan, Marisa excitedly recounted the results of her meeting with Hani, the young woman Faiq wanted to approach. He hopes Faiq and Hani are a match, because he likes Hani since their first meeting, let alone see his cute and adorable children.
“Papa so curious to hear the story mama.” Darmawan was enthusiastic to hear his wife's story. He no longer cared about the status of his son-in-law. As long as his wife and son are happy, he will support them.
“If you have time, I'll take you to his place. Apparently she's a great woman, has her own business. Mother amazed him, at a young age able to live a tough life with her three children.”
“This week I will set the schedule. We can both visit there.” Darmawan said straightforwardly making Marisa happy to hear it.
