Chapter 215 S2 (Stuck the Past)
Ivan was surprised to get a visit from his old friend during his education in America. Although there was a past grudge, but with the passage of time Ivan has closed and forgotten it and does not dispute all the past events that occurred between him and George.
“How are you?” greet Ivan in English when George Anderson arrived at his office that afternoon.
“Good,” George replied briefly, “You are very successful. Congrats!”
“Thank you,” Ivan stays with his friendly smile, “How are you doing now? I hear your efforts are growing and expanding to various countries.”
“I just started a mining business. My friend invited the joint,” Gerge looked at him closely, “Do you still remember Claudia? Your ex the queen of the party?”
Ivan chuckled, “Didn't he prefer you? Why defend the unfaithful?”
“I guess you're still obsessed with it.”
Ivan smiled thinly, “It was just the past.”
George looked at Ivan with a serious face, “There is one thing you do not know about Claudia.”
“Already. I don't want to know anything about him. I'm married and I love my wife.” Ivan said as he leaned his body on his seat of greatness.
The shadow of Khaira's face returned to her eyes. It's been two weeks that Khaira is still healing. He tried to resist his desire for the recovery of his wife.
Now he has no problem with the child. All is the windfall of the Powerful One, as long as he and Khaira are together, he is confident of being able to face any test.
Remembering the words of his brother-in-law made Ivan smile faintly. Where might he let Khaira leave him alone only for a child who is not necessarily there. He has resigned the problem of children, as long as he and Khaira are not separated.
“She's parted ways with her husband who is a real estate entrepreneur.”
“That's none of my business,” Ivan flicked his shoulders lightly. He felt no need to open his past that he had buried tightly.
George smiled cynically, “Did he never tell you that he had a child while still with you?”
Ivan was surprised to hear George's words. He was silent for a moment unable to speak anymore. How could he not know about this matter?
Ivan's mind was divided. He recalled his one-year closeness with Claudia, but that was ten years ago, and it had been a long time.
“Your son is as handsome as you are .. “ George added again.
“How are you sure that it's my son?” Ivan became curious to hear George's words.
“His face is very handsome, with blackish brown hair,” George said seriously, “When seeing him first time people are already convinced that he is your son.”
“Since when did you know that Claudia was pregnant with my son?” no doubt curiosity derailed Ivan's thinking.
“You know what caused me to leave Claudia?” George looked at Ivan sharply.
“Because with you he left me,” Ivan replied sharply, “And back then I was really disappointed over your back game.”
George chuckled, “I was just teasing Claudia, and just wanted to play with her. But apparently my fishing is hitting. He's interested in me.”
There was actually a sense of resentment in Ivan's heart of hearing George's story about his relationship and Claudia in the past.
“So you don't think Claudia loves me sincerely?”
“Sure you can understand it yourself.” George looked at her disdainfully.
“Luckily I soon found out the original character of Claudia,” Ivan smiled wryly.
“Lantas what about your son who was with Claudia?” George became curious and wanted to know the next step that Ivan will take when knowing the whereabouts of his son, “I heard until now you and your wife have not had children.”
Ivan smiled faintly, “Now I don't want to burden my wife. Let everything flow like water.”
“Do you not want to meet your son?” George continued to search for him with questions that made Ivan so caught off guard.
“I wonder with you so excited,” Ivan looked at George with suspicion.
George looked at Ivan with his cynical smile, “Now Claudia's life is not what it used to be. With the status as a single parent and sickly son is very sad.”
“You know very well his personal life, are you guys still in touch until now?” curiosity can't hide Ivan now hear George's story.
“He works with me, as my secretary,” replied George casually.
“Secretary plus-plus,” said Ivan sneered.
Ivan was stunned for a moment. In his little heart there was a desire to meet the child who George thought was his flesh and blood. But he was worried that he would hurt Khaira.
“Now where is the boy?” Ivan could not help his curiosity.
Humanity is also very strong in him. Against others alone he can easily provide help, especially his descendants, which although not yet medically proven.
“He is still undergoing treatment in a Singapore hospital,” George said bluntly.
“You yourself are married?” curiosity about George's status made Ivan ask directly.
“I am still single,” replied George lightly. “Comfortable traveling anywhere.”
Ivan shook his head at George's reply. He knew George as well as himself and Edward. But Edward was more human, and their friendship was so sincere and never hurt each other. Both support and support each other in life and in their respective work.
“You want to meet Claudia?” george looked at him seriously.
“No. I do not want to be stuck with the past,” Ivan replied firmly, “But for his son I will help as much as I can.”
“Alright,” George was satisfied to hear Ivan's reply, “When I want to invite you to dinner together. All reunian.”
“I'll set my schedule,” Ivan nodded his head approving George's proposal.
The two shook hands as soon as George got up from the chair and said goodbye to return to the company where he joined his new acquaintance.
After George's departure, Ivan was in his chair. He was really surprised to learn the fact that having a child from a relationship in his past. If it was indeed his flesh and blood he would be responsible and bear all the necessary expenses for the recovery of the child he had with Claudia.
Ivan quickly contacted Edward. He believes his best friend will easily know the information he needs. He does not want to be too long waiting for certainty.
Four hours later Ivan managed to connect with Edward. Without wasting any time Ivan immediately recounted the meeting that took place between himself and George. He did not miss the outcome of his conversation with George, and he wanted to ask Edward's opinion to decide what step he would take.
“I already knew everything upon your arrival to Paris the other day,” Edward said by phone.
“Why haven't you told me since the beginning?” Ivan was upset that Edward was not being straightforward.
“Are you not thinking about Rara's feelings?” Edward instantly reminded Ivan that he had a wife, “Do you want to end your marriage and marry Claudia because of your child?”
Ivan gasp. He shook his head quickly. There was no way he would let go of Khaira who had become the only love in his heart.
“This is not about Claudia. But my son who is with him,” firmly Ivan, “I will be responsible to our son. And take her with me and Rara.”
“You think Claudia will take your child off? What's more now she has become a single parent.”
Ivan and Edward's conversation ends without finding a common ground. He nodded his head which suddenly throbbed. Why when he and Khaira are comfortable and have each other must be tested again with a past that he can not escape easily.
With a feeling of sadness Ivan returned home. He was not ready to come clean with Khaira. He still needs time to think about the steps he will take forward for the good of everyone. Especially his home.
He doesn't want his past life to destroy the future he just built with Khaira. If he made a wrong decision, he was sure his brother-in-law would take action that would harm himself.
“Mas are home?” khaira's smile expanded as soon as she saw Ivan walking with impassioned steps.
She kissed her husband's hand and took the briefcase that was in Ivan's grasp.
“Wait a minute,” Ivan held off Khaira's steps.
“Why mas?” Khaira was astonished to see her husband's lackluster attitude as usual.
“Let me hold you for a while,” without waiting for the wife's answer, Ivan immediately embraced Khaira's petite body into the arms.
For a moment he felt the calmness of getting a warm embrace of the wife. He is so upset about the past that continues to follow him. Why should he have a child from a momentary relationship that he does not want to remember and has been buried tightly.
“Mas okay?” patting her husband's sturdy shoulder, Khaira frowned.
She had never seen her husband this fragile. Khaira patiently faced the spoiled nature of Ivan who did not want to be left even for a moment. Ivan felt that it was home where it was most comfortable to be a jannati in which he got calm, comfort and tranquility.
How can he leave his wife, an angel in the form of a simple woman, who is always obedient and pleasant when viewed, providing comfort when he feels tired of the competition of the business world.
With touch and caress and words of encouragement made Ivan feel that Khaira was the only woman he would hold tightly to his hand. Let the world hate all his past, but he believes Khaira will make the right decision.
