Chapter 236 S2 (Change of Plans)
Ivan opened his eyes. He was surprised when he realized he was already in a room whose lights were dim. He recalled, a few hours ago he was still enjoying the wine that Claudia was serving to entertain Edward and his friend.
Ivan's mind worked quickly trying to recall his current whereabouts. Ivan quickly got out of bed when he realized that he was in Claudia's room. He was surprised to find that he was only using a boxer.
The sound of running water in the bathroom made Ivan realize that he was not alone. He felt thirsty and saw the lemon juice stirring his appetite on the nightstand beside the bed.
Recalling the new dream he had in a hurry Ivan returned to his room adjoining Claudia's room. As fast as lightning he was dressed. Ivan doesn't want to get stuck for the umpteenth time. The focus is only one, going back to Khaira. The wife he loved at all times.
He will apologize for any charges he made for Claudia's incitement and slander against Khaira. Clad to his own clothes, without a travel bag containing all his equipment, Ivan quickly exited the apartment. He only took his cell phone, identity and passport and wallet lying in the room he had been staying with Bryan.
Half an hour later he was at a luxury club with Edward who was always there when he needed to.
“What's your plan now?” Edward smokes his cigarette as soon as he and Ivan sit back in the club's VVIP room.
“I want to go home now,” he said quickly.
Ivan didn't want to wait any longer. Taking care of Bryan and leaving the house for almost 9 months made him miss the touch of his wife.
“How about Claudia?” Edward looked at Ivan closely, “Aren't you going to marry him?”
“I just love my wife. How can I possibly share my heart with a woman I don't love?”
“Are you going to renege on the promise you made to Bryan?” Edward looked at Ivan not understanding.
Ivan breathed a heavy sigh. From the beginning his intention was just to heal Bryan and bring him along with Khaira into one whole family.
But Claudia has ruined all the plans she has put together, and involves Bryan to gain an advantage for himself.
“Bryan has told me everything. With his departure, I will not marry Claudia. But I'm going to hand over half of my property in Bryan's name to Claudia. The rest I will build a special cancer hospital for children who can not afford in my country.”
“What if Claudia refuses?” Edward felt astonished, in just a matter of hours Ivan's mind changed. He didn't want Ivan to get stuck with Claudia.
“I beg your help to resolve the issue between me and Claudia. Arrange with your lawyer,” Ivan was stunned for a moment considering the last conversation between him and Bryan, “I also learned a new fact that it wasn't Rara who pushed Bryan into the water. But Claudia was the one who did it.”
Edward smiled cynically knowing Ivan was aware of his stupidity, “Do you not see cctv in your house.”
“I was late to realize my stupidity.”
“Hopefully Miss Rara would still accept her stupid husband,” Edward said sharply insinuating her.
“I want to hitch a ride on your private jet to return tonight,” Ivan pleads with great. The longing for his wife suddenly stifled his chest.
“If only others, I would not follow your wishes ... “ Edward's eyes began to see sexy women dancing pole dance outside that seen from their room.
Eventually the two left the club's VVIP room. Ivan smiles satisfied to see Edward who starts contacting Rafhael his personal assistant and asks him to prepare a private plane that will take Ivan back to Indonesia.
Upon arriving at the airport Ivan immediately hugged Edward tightly. For the rest of his life he will not forget his friend's kindness. Both have a strong sense of brotherhood even though no blood ties flow to both.
Meanwhile in the bathroom of the apartment, Claudia was happy. He believes his wait will pay off tonight. Soaking his body in the bathtub he began to imagine the night he would spend with Ivan tonight.
When Bryan died, it appeared that Ivan was devastated. Although there was a little sadness in him over Bryan's departure, but the happiness he felt was greater, because he was sure that he and Ivan would strengthen each other. It was fortunate that Edward and a few friends came to comfort him and this was an opportunity for Claudia to take a role in mending their relationship going forward.
Claudia is sure, from tonight Ivan will be hers. Ivan and Rara's relationship is over. Ever since they got down from the house that afternoon, he had never seen Ivan contact his wife again. His attention was only on Bryan, all about Bryan. Moreover, Ivan has sold his 50% stake in the New Stars Corps for the recovery of his only son.
Claudia is confident that Ivan will bear all the expenses of his life after Bryan's departure. And he was happy to think about it. Feeling satisfied soaking herself in the fragrance, Claudia immediately came out of the bathtub.
Using a bathrobe, Claudia came out of the bathroom. A soft smile came out of his mouth imagining the intimacy that would be entwined tonight between him and Ivan. He was satisfied, as Ivan began to pay attention to him as they learned of Bryan's increasingly critical condition.
He saw the atmosphere of the room that looked quiet. His eyes turned to the bed. A faint smile rang on his lips looking at the bed that looked still the same as he left to clean up.
When Edward and his friends said goodbye this afternoon, Ivan was already in a state of heavy drunkenness due to drinking too much. With great effort, Claudia brought Ivan to move into her room which she had always occupied by herself.
The smell of wine made Claudia unable to bear it. Eventually he began to take off Ivan's outerwear one after another. His passion had reached the ends of his hair when he saw how sturdy the male figure that always warmed his night in the past.
Although during their time together caring for Bryan, there has been no interest in Ivan, but Claudia believes Ivan remains a man who needs a female touch.
After taking off all of Ivan's outerwear, Claudia finally cleaned herself up. He believed that he would have plenty of free time with Ivan to warm each other up.
Claudia immediately opens the wardrobe and picks up the thin nightgown she had prepared early on if at any point she had the chance to start over with Ivan.
He leisurely walked towards the bed. He glanced at the concoction of lemon juice that is still intact with a fluffy smile. Claudia's hand shook off the pile of blankets that were on the bed.
“Honey …. “ Claudia stunned.
The bed was empty with no one on it. Only pillows are arranged like people lying covered with blankets. He frowned when he saw that there was no Ivan there. An hour ago when he entered the bathroom, Ivan was still asleep.
He was sure Ivan's sleep duration would be longer. Since the last two weeks of waiting for Bryan in the hospital, it appears that Ivan is lacking hours of rest. He was so focused on looking after Bryan as to guard his most valuable possessions.
“Honey …. “ Claudia still called out her name and looked up to the room Ivan used to take a break during their time in the apartment.
His eyes were fixed as soon as he saw Ivan's room empty without any occupants. Neither Ivan's phone nor wallet was left behind. He opened the wardrobe, it looked intact, but Ivan's precious documents were not there.
Bryan's departure has proven that nothing else can bring Ivan back to him. Claudia threw her body on Ivan's bed in disappointment. Now he is convinced that Ivan was not destined for him.
