Chapter 6 The Late Guest (Sayn)

When Eva and Vivian go home shopping, Diana calls Eva to tell her that there is a guest for her. Eva was directed to the Duke's room. The guest was Robert.
After a long time, Robert reappeared. But Duke is the first one he meets and they share a secret that makes Eva curious.
Robert apparently wanted to question Eva about the events in the match exam. Initially Eva was a little wary of telling Robert out of fear that the man would suddenly blame her as well. But Eva's guess was wrong. Robert did not blame her and supported her decision.

I went back to Vivian in the backyard. We had a private tea party there and told each other enthusiastically.
I don't know why, I actually got carried away while chatting with Vivian. It was as if our minds were compatible with each other, so there was absolutely no awkward atmosphere.
Even unconsciously, time passed for quite a long time. We even skipped lunch and just allowed a snack of sweet cookies to fill our stomachs.
"It's dinner soon." Vivian suddenly remembered. "Let's get ready"
I also nodded.
We both headed straight to the kitchen to start cooking. Several grocery boxes and a large pot already greeted us there.
Vivian didn't ask the waiter for help this time. He just asked for my help to cut some vegetables and meat. While he put in the seasoning and tasted the food.
An hour later, dinner was ready. We made one big pot of meat soup and another menu. Vivian even makes her own desserts, such as pudding and sweet candies. The dessert was made using his own recipe.
After that, we asked the chefs to serve all the food at the dinner table. Me and Vivian went back to our rooms to take a shower.
At exactly seven in the evening, we were both at the dinner table. Diana arrived shortly afterwards. Then Duke and Robert followed last.
"Lord, we have a guest..." Wiya suddenly entered the dining room nervously to tell us.
The duke frowned displeased with "Who?" She asked. He never invited anyone into his home today.
"Oh? That's my classmate" I remembered about Sayn's whereabouts. "I'll welcome him for a minute"
I left the dining table and headed to the front yard. Originally, Sayn was in front of the gate because the bodyguards were blocking her. But he was able to enter after getting permission.
"It's my first time playing to your house formally, isn't it?" sayn said with a smile. But actually she was quite nervous as this was her first meeting with both of Eva's parents.
'I have to make a good impression!' Sayn strengthened her determination not to make any bad impression in front of her two future parents-in-law...
Sayn entered in a polite manner. As Duke and Diana looked at her, she immediately gave her greetings respectfully.
"Good night Duke and Duchess, I'm Sayn, Eva and Vivian's classmate"
"ah! It's the first time Eva brought a male friend~" Diana greeted enthusiastically.
"Hm" The Duke simply responded with a short mutter and nodded smallly. Then he looked at Eva, asking for an explanation of what happened.
"Little Sayn, come here. Sit next to Robert. Soon her dinner will begin. It's a good thing you're not late~" Diana instantly broke the tense atmosphere quickly.
"Thank you" Sayn immediately took her position. And at that moment, he immediately met Robert's eyes.
Robert put on a sullen face, as if to say what this pest is doing here. Sayn received her expression signal and put on a pouting face as well with narrowed eyes.
While the Duke watched Sayn from head to toe. This boy is his daughter's peer. If Eva invites him personally to this place, it means that their relationship is very close. Somehow the Duke felt a little danger when he found out his daughter had a close male friend.
"Are you a close friend of Eva's? Which house are you from?" asked the Duke in a nonchalant tone. He did not remember any noble children from the other houses at all. But since this kid is Eva's friend, he should know.
When the Duke questioned him, Sayn immediately took off her sharp gaze from Robert. "I just moved to the academy a few months ago. I am not from this kingdom" Sayn explained.
"Oh?" Duke raised his eyebrows, interested. Honestly, the Duke did not know any rumors in the capital if the rumors were not about his family. So he did not even know that the princes and princesses of the neighboring Kingdoms studied while in the royal academy. He doesn't care much about any of that.
"I'm from Kano"
The Duke's face stiffened immediately. Kano was the first country to become his opponent during the war. And he had more Enemies from the Kano Kingdom than any other Kingdom.
"There is a student exchange at the academy. So the princes and princesses of the Kano Kingdom studied here" I quickly added.
"Prince and princess?" Duke mutters.
"Yes, Sayn is a prince" I added.
"Even if you're a prince, I won't bow my head" the Duke said suddenly in a hostile tone.
The atmosphere instantly became awkward because of his words.
"Darling!" Diana immediately rebuked him. "Little Sayn, don't think too much about the old man's words okay~ She is like this~" Diana tried to comfort Sayn, afraid that the boy was hurt by her husband's rude words.
"No problem..." Sayn answered softly.
Seeing the Duke's unfriendly demeanor, Robert's lips were attracted slightly and he smiled meaningfully. He liked it as Duke looked at Sayn with displeased eyes. It was as if it had already reduced one of its burden.
The Duke opened his mouth wanting to say something again, but Diana immediately glared at him, so the Duke paused his intention and fell silent.
"I actually really admire Duke. Your name is very famous in our kingdom" Sayn said later.
"Oh? Really true?" The Duke's face suddenly showed interest.
"Yes" Sayn nodded elegantly. He began to praise Duke for his performance on the battlefield. And how could the man be famous in the Kano Kingdom because of his strength and strategy. "Even the generals in our kingdom will not be able to match you" Sayn concluded.
Duke's eyes turned bright. He seems to like his compliments. "You're pretty good" the Duke muttered. He began to like the boy's attitude for praising him in front of his daughter and wife. In an instant the Duke's displeased gaze on Sayn faded.
Sayn, who felt her efforts had succeeded instantly smiled faintly. "Thank you Duke. I'm very honored."
