The Struggle of a Child

The Struggle of a Child
The road to home

"Solihin is cold water" Widia shouted. He brushed his face off from Solihin.

Solihin was very happy and laughed because he had doused our faces with splashes of rain water and made us angry. "Haha!" He was getting flushed by his molar teeth. "The water was just that.., it was cold" he chanted. "...i'm the one who often plays in the rain just not cold." Staring at us flat.

"Yes, the Solihin. You never get sick" said Fikri. "...if Liyan had ever been sick" he said following us who swung both hands feeling the rain.

"I've been sick, too" Solihin explained. Glancing Fikri.

I also saw Solihin, followed by a rotating view and then saw Widia. Widia who stood looking at me who had experienced severe pain. He felt what I felt. He turned back to look at Solihin and saw the rain falling.

We are trapped by the rain. The more the rage mixed with anxiety. Not infrequently we said to each other to ask ourselves and also our neighbors, staring at the rain as if counting it.

"I'm so confused" said Rasyd staring at the rain that kept falling.

Me and the others turned their heads to see him speak. " Fuddled why ?" manya curious. Shivered.

Rasyd flinched looking at me. "Bung, when will the rain subside" he replied to my question.

I then took a rough breath mixed with the increasingly cold air. My father would worry about me. I keep staring at the rain. The rain falling, I followed with the second motion of the netra. Seeing the rain falling from heaven to earth with a splash hitting the feet.

To this day we can do absolutely nothing. Solihin who likes to play rain occasionally looks like running for a rain shower. However, he kept it off because maybe, he was afraid that he would get sick because he was going to take the exam soon, I thought I kept seeing him.

Water increasingly inundated the road to overflow almost through this half-collapsed terrace. Panic mixed worry I pray in the heart so that the rain soon subsides. If the water is getting overflowing, maybe we will all get wet and not the one that is lying on the floor will get all wet.

"Oh-ho, the water is a little more coming in here," I said frantically mixed with coldness stepping back.

Fikri, Widia and the others also looked panicked and walked backwards. "Liyan, so don't stand there," said Fikri forbid me.

"Yes Liyan," Widia said crouched in a cold hold.

"Widia, you're cold, aren't you?" ask Rasyd to panic. Standing right near me.

"I-iya," Widia replied shivering.

"Is your shirt wet?" ask Fikri worriedly.

Widia today is so cold, she's almost the same as me. However, he who was crouching in the corner of the pole that was far behind us tried to hold it firmly. "No," he answered seeing the rain falling with a blank look.

Me, Fikri, Rasyd and Solihin were staring at each other with a feeling of worry inside each other. I who was unable to keep trying to fight him stood up straight even though these two legs were pale and very cold. The shoes I took off were placed on small benches that had been broken.

The day went on and time kept turning, the happy heart had turned restless. The road that was wet with rain looked deserted, like it was uninhabited. The air gets colder and colder. I put both arms around my shoulders to hold him.

The sound of vehicles passing was heard at a glance mixed with rain breaking the silence looking at us. Kids usually love to play in the rain. It's the opposite, that's me and my other friends. I am not unwilling but, I am afraid because my father is too strict to watch so that I can take care of myself as much as possible.

The silence of this afternoon was gripping, it was in my mind. The terrace of this rickety and seedy house is very scary. A gaze that was mixed with curiosity I opened as wide as possible. The longer I sharpen my eyesight. It seems like this has been out of use for a long time, I thought sharpening my eyes and hearing. I'm turning my eyes and my head is looking full. A little awake I was looking, were there any sounds heard in the midst of this torrential rain?

Haha !

In silence I heard and saw Fikri and the other friends laughing . They were very happy laughing as if they had forgotten the anxiety of the trapping rain. I immediately drew a thin smile and forgot all the complaints that children in the bottom of the heart see those who are happy today.

I rushed to them in the cold wind. "You guys are so happy?" I was followed by Rasyd who saw it.

"Liyan, we remember the incident again" said Fikri while laughing at Solihin.

I, who was curling my arms around my shoulders, thought I remembered it, followed by the look in the eyes that looked at their faces one by one. Although I have remembered it for a long time, I do not know. I've forgotten what happened that was missed by Fikri. "What incident?" I turned the memory. Stare at them.

Rasyd was standing near me. "Playing mud" he said directly. Helps to open up memories.

"Ooh, yes, hehehe!" I immediately nodded, nodding. "So, you guys want to play again?" manya curious.

They were silent as if thinking about it. Followed by Widia and Solihin who are reluctant to want to play rain.

"But I'm not satisfied playing in the rain" said Rasyd running to see the rain.

"Aren't you afraid of pain?" my many. Looking at Rasyd who was standing without a bag on his shoulder.

I'm so surprised to see Rasyd today. Why is he so excited to play in the rain? He was playing mud with me. I who was standing at the back stared at his back very mediocrely after hearing his words.

"Want to play with the rain?" asked Fikri to approach his deputy. "Aren't you playing in the rain?" tanyanya stood enjoying the rain.

I'm getting serious watching them from behind. Widia's excitement with Solihin playing rain with a small piece of wood located on the terrace was even more tickling. This act of ignorance of them treats the anxiety I felt earlier. While Fikri and Rasyd still sound serious discussing want to play rain.

"But there is no rain" said Rasyd.

"Nothing?" fikri asked astonished to think that Rasyd was lying. "... while our clothes were wet," he continued furious to see Rasyd.

"Yes, but the rain isn't this hard!" rasyd replied denying what Fikri said. Rotating his body and putting the bag on the porch pole after that he ran away with a fast leaving Fikri who waved his hand to hold it.

I'm getting dizzy with the seven-rounders looking at the two of them. Fikri who does not like to play in the rain is increasingly upset to see Rasyd who does not want to hear. He was clenching his hands when I saw him turn his face to the side. How dour his face was to see his friend blocking his steps wanting to go home quickly. Fikri increasingly snorted annoyed at him so he was ogah to see Rasyd. He who was still staring intently to the side spoke to me. "Liyan, aren't your legs cold?" ask Fikri. Stared at. I'm the one staring at him. "Cold," I saw him, followed by seeing Rasyd also playing with rain pulling Fikri's arm.

Baugh's!

Fikri was dragged as if crashing into the ground. He who had been drifting in his blank gaze asked me and grappled with the deep vexation of seeing the stubborn Rasyd.

Reflexes made him even more angry because his clothes must be dirty and wet. Not to mention the shoes he was still wearing had been drenched in the rain.

Ahaha!

Laughter was heard roaring in the air mixed with rain. Seeing the dragged Fikri. "Hey, Fikri! Since when do you want to play rain?" ledek Solihin screamed asking her with a face of laughter mixed in wonder.

I was immediately shocked to turn my head to hear a roaring scream in the empty air. I took off the bag I was holding, followed by eyes still awake looking at them. I put the bag on the dry floor and looked at the patio ceiling. I'm afraid that if there's a roof, my bag will get wet, I thought worried. After the bag was located I again saw Fikri who was playing in the rain for the first time.

A cheerful laugh was seen from him. He was upset because of Rasyd. It even enjoys the rain falling down hard. He ran to get a tree branch and wrote on the ground that was pouring rain. Rasyd and Fikri were getting excited. Rasyd who played with rain without anything, now took the tree branch as well, followed Fikri until finally, they both played with swords.

Mimicking battles like in the movies. Where a prince fights against his enemy using a sword. I was so surprised to see it. Today is such a happy day for me that I don't want this day to just pass by.

The anxiety that envelops this self, as if getting the antidote. The worry that had been wrapped around instantly disappeared just as it ran away leaving me. Anxiety no longer accompanied only the laughter and screams of happiness that sounded. Getting into the recesses of the heart goes through the mind.

Sumringah was clearly marked in the rain which saw them playing football with coconut shells located in the yard just below the coconut tree that stood covering a bit of the road. The uninhabited house bears witness to our happiness today. To be a memory that will leave a trace against us, especially me. I still stood looking at them seriously, how surprised I was to see Fikri suddenly want to play in the rain.

"Hello...!" sapa Solihin ran through the rain.

In the middle of their fun game Solihin also came to menamperin the two of them who played with fun in the rain. Coconut bats that run to and fro they chase, like football players. I can't believe Fikri can be like this. Today it feels like I am reborn.

"Liyan, they never seem to play" Widia said seeing the rain falling.

I turned my head. "Hihihi, yes. Especially Fikri," I said amusedly.

"Fikri'kan, Mama's Son," Widia cetus. "...he was never in love playing outside the house" he continued.

"Why?" I asked to see Widia and then I saw Fikri.

"He's the only child" Widia replied. I immediately saw Widia as if she knew a lot about Fikri.

I then looked at the three of them back who were engrossed in playing ball. "Why do you know?" my many. "That's why you've been to his house, huh?" I glanced at Widia who was looking at her shoes.

Widia raised her gaze. "Yes, we went to his house to play" he replied.

I quietly asked in wonder. "When ?" manya. I saw my feet getting frozen.

Widia stared at the rain while holding the piece of wood she was holding earlier. "When you were sick, Liyan," he replied directly.

"Surely you guys are playing, aren't you?" I said I immediately replied to Widia's answer again asking.

Widia seemed to have no heart to say it because she saw my face that turned a little sad. His expression again lowered his gaze as if swallowing regret.

"Liyan...!" he said with a sad face. Silently staring with sadness. "... We didn't play, really," he explained.

"Then?" my many. Seeing the rain that was going to stop.

"We're just drawing" he replied.

I who turned my head was suddenly surprised Rasyd, Fikri and Solihin had moved. The three of them walked towards us. Widia and I sharpened the eyeballs looking at those who sauntered walking towards us then veered to the right taking the bag located.

"Fikri how?" ask Widia looking down. I who heard it also followed Widia's eyes. I then turned my eyes to see Fikri who asked.

"How what?" tanya Fikri held the bag.

"That's...!" Widia pointed downwards back.

"That's what?" ask Fikri astonishment. Look down too. Look at the feet and floor sharply.

"Your socks," Widia replied with great emphasis. Gawking.

Solihin, Rasyd, and I looked up at the foot. I also looked at it too. The journey to home is so long felt today. The heavy rain pouring down the road to the house is winding down.
