"How are you?" Ammar began his question to the woman who was standing next to him. Although it felt very awkward because they had only met again after three months apart, but Ammar tried to behave accordingly.
"I am.good." The woman's speech filled Ammar's sense of hearing.
"Why are you here, Jo?"
"This is my uncle's orphanage. Doni should have told you, right?"
Ammar shakes. "He didn't tell me about it at all." Ammar answered honestly.
Joana looked at the man. "really? That's not possible." Joana replied with a sneering tone.
Ammar chuckled small. "Yes, I want to take the kids on vacation to the orphanage. Doni suggested this place. It seems he was intentional." Ammar said while nodding his head. Now Ammar knows the purpose behind Doni's words on the phone earlier. This is what Doni meant, did Ammar find him? Not just to find his successor, but one who lives in this home. And Ammar just realized also that this is his luck that Doni alluded to.
Joana smiled faintly but Ammar did not see that. "Then, how are you?" Ask.
"Of course I'm good" said Ammar with a very forced smile.
"Yes, you seem to be okay." Joana pointed out a cigarette she still held to Ammar, as if saying 'if you're good, why are you smoking?'- she stared intently at Ammar.
Ammar chuckled small. "You know best, Jo. Even without that cigarette, you can read my gelagat. You are a professional in your field." Praise Ammar reminded Joana profession as a psychiatrist.
Joana, downcast by Ammar's insinuation, shuts down her practice just to avoid Ammar. How could Ammar say it 'professional?'
"I also know you're good at hiding your feelings, Jo! But unfortunately I already know everything." Ammar laughed heartily.
"Know everything? About what?" Ask Joana seriously.
"On your feelings, if you really love me." Ammar said confidently. He said it steadily.
Joana chuckles at hearing it. "What kind of discussion is this? You're so ridiculous. I don't want to talk about it. You're too confident. Where did you guess such a thing - we're even separated." Kilah Joana while staring at the view of the row hill in front of her which was blocked by fog.
Ammar shook his head faintly seeing Joana dodging her bait. This woman did not know that Ammar was holding her ace, anyone who saw it would judge Joana by the same - that she loved the man who was now next to her.
"When are you doing this, Jo? You're holding back your feelings!" Ammar.
"Stop Ammar's. I shouldn't have even had to see you. Can't you just be ordinary, like we're friends?" Joana asked to switch the conversation.
Ammar shakes. "I can never consider the person I love and also love me as a friend let alone before I want to marry him." Answer Ammar straightforward.
Joana could not say anything more, she really could not deny the words of Ammar. Instead of him crumbling and giving up, he would rather leave from there.
"Give up, Jo. I already know everything. Where's my ring?" Ask Ammar who made Joana step stopped. Joana was stunned by the question.
"I'm not here to look for you, Jo. I'll look for you again after today and I won't give up much less once I know you took the ring from the pool." Ammar said as he approached Joana who was a bit away from him.
Joana was fixated, how could Ammar know if the ring was taken by her?
"But God brought us here. Maybe this is what Doni meant by my luck, Jo. Even you're approaching me." Ammar held Joana's shoulder, looking at the woman who was still silent and bowed with thoughts that must have raged.
"Look at me, Jo!" Ammar. Joana shook her head, she felt weak because Ammar had just opened his ace. A mistake Joana made three months ago and now Ammar is opening it up in front of himself, as if discovering and knowing the deepest feelings of a Joana, he said, the ring was taken from the swimming pool.
"Jo, look at me. Ask whatever you have in mind!" Ammar said firmly.
Slowly the woman turned her head to look at the towering man before her. "Where can you tell if the ring is on me?" Joana asked, her expression unreadable.
"You forgot that hotel belongs to Kevin's family?" Ammar smiled faintly. "I saw CCTV footage showing what happened after I got home from that hotel." Ammar.
Joana flabbergasted. How could he forget that, he acted recklessly because of his broken feelings after deciding to separate from Ammar.
Seeing Joana speechless with a shocked face, Ammar took Joana's hands from her sides, looking at Joana's fingers one after another, looking for her ring that Joana had taken from the pool that night.
Ammar had seen everything from the flash that the three friends handed over some time ago. Ammar also knew Joana had gotten into the pool until the dress she was wearing that night got wet. Ammar also saw Joana cold after looking for the existence of his ring in the pool water.
That's why Ammar is very confident when he says that Joana loves him very much, because he already knows clearly how Joana feels about him since seeing the contents of the flash.
"Where's the ring, Jo? Why don't you wear it?" Ammar asked Joana who was still frozen, he asked because he did not find his ring in Joana's finger.
Joana shakes. "Don't start again something we've ended." Said Joana lirih.
Hearing that ignited Ammar's emotions. "We end?" Ammar sighed so that his emotions did not explode. "Jo, it's not us who ended this, but you're the one who ended it on the other side. I'm not." Assertive Ammar with a reddened face.
"Okay, now tell me why you ended this when you loved me?" Ammar cupped Joana's cheeks which turned out to have been flooded with tears.
Joana shakes. He didn't want to tell me the reason.
"Okay, I guess. Are you afraid your parents will ask us to separate?"
Joana silence. Not to argue but not to agree.
"Because you're silent, then I assume it's true." Ammar stroked Joana's cheek, wiping away her tears that were increasingly flooding the side of her face. "At least we tried Jo, we haven't tried it yet and you've given up first." Ammar said wisely.
Joana's cry broke, Ammar grabbed Joana's body in his arms. "Sstt.don't cry anymore." Ammar said to calm the woman.
"I'm scared, Ammar. I'm scared." Joana said in Ammar's arms. Somehow he felt very comfortable in this position and did not want to get out of his arms. Joana admits in her heart if this is the one she needs.
"What scares you, hmm?" Ammar stroked Joana's head with her hair ponytailed. "Tell me, be honest." Pinta Ammar. She knew that there was something Joana had been hiding from her all along. Maybe after three months of isolation, Joana was willing to open up and be frank with him.
"I'm afraid Daddy's sick to know I'm in a relationship with you." Isak Joanna.
"Why does Daddy have to be sick? Am I that bad?" Ammar inhaled a lot of oxygen, "I know and I remember my mistakes in the past were fatal. But I've regretted it and it's been a valuable lesson that I don't want to repeat, honey. Doesn't everyone deserve a chance if he means it?" Ammar said softly as he continued to hold the woman's body.
Joana nodded, "But I doubt Daddy will accept. T-remembering your status as well--makes me t-not sure." Joana said nervously afraid of offending Ammar.
Ammar unraveled his embrace, leaving Joana slightly disappointed but Ammar stared intensely at the woman's face, "So that's what you've been afraid of all this time? You didn't tell me because you're afraid I'm offended, right?" Ammar smiled faintly.
Joana. "I think I can forget you." Said Joana while hitting Ammar's chest softly.
Ammar grimaced but laughed. "Reality?" Ask Ammar.
Joana shook her head weakly and Ammar smiled.
"Prepare your things, come with me today. The day after tomorrow or tomorrow we'll come to your parents' house in London." Ammar said lightly as he stepped away leaving Joana flabbergasted to hear his words.
"Ammar.." call Joana.
"Otherwise? I can't let you marry someone else." Ammar.
Joana clucking. He wants Ammar to also understand the health condition of his parents if he already knows the true status of Ammar.
"I'm not bi-"
"It's Jo, it's only been three months that you and I have been like this. Next we leave it to your parents. I'm sure they'll support your happiness." Ammar said steadily.
"Why are you so sure? I thought about their health. Don't you want to think about my parents' fate, too?" Joana sizzles at Ammar's attitude which she thinks is only concerned with her feelings.
"Don't think about it, I've already finished it long before today." Ammar.
"You mean?" Joana looked at Ammar with her round eyes making Ammar anxious.
The cup!
Ammar peeked at Joana's cheek. "Be quiet, don't act stupid again by leaving me. If it's just that matter you shouldn't have to stay away from me like this."
"Getter.." Joana held onto her cheek that Ammar had just kissed. As long as they were close, Ammar never kissed her cheek like this. Ammar really appreciates it with no excess physical contact between them. Joana's face heated up and a tinge of red began to run across the surface of her cheeks.
"Jo, I haven't had lunch. I'm hungry." Ammar said as he stepped up, awakening Joana from his shock.
Joana runs behind Ammar after her shock disappears. "What do you want to eat? I cooked it for you." Joana's murmur heard by Ammar.
Unable to be uttered with Ammar's current words of happiness, the corners of his lips curved. "So you're the new chef here that Mr Mirza said?" Ammar God.
"I feel ordinary, not like a good chef. Uncle's just overkill." Joana said embarrassed.
Ammar smiled knot. "Whatever you cook I'll eat."
Joana chuckles. "If only..." His lips went to the man and Ammar laughed. His first laugh after three months passed with a slump.
They talked warmly until they went to the dining room that Ammar had previously visited because he accidentally heard the voice of someone he thought resembled the voice of Joana. And now she was convinced that her hearing was not wrong because it was really Joana that she missed.
...Seriate......
