The Queen Who Shares Love

The Queen Who Shares Love
S2 Chapter 18 Anger Begins to Ease

Judith's fist began to loosen. He nearly punched Leonard, but was replaced by Flint. It's okay if he is insulted or hated, as long as it's not his family. Leonard spoke as if he knew everything when it was just a false rumor. Unwilling to control her, the Duchess leaves Leonard and Flint alone.

Flint is free to do anything. The Duchess's adjutant hit Leonard trying to get up. He kicked the belly of his Master's new bodyguard. This in no way reflects the attitude of the nobility who always educated his mother. Violence is the only way Leonard will be conscious of his place.

"Do you like the Duchess? Looks like the Duchess doesn't know how you feel" Leonard sneered. He wiped the blood on the corner of his lips.

"He was considered my brother. You always babble without knowing the truth. All this time we've been patient, but this time you've gone too far."

Flint remembers his promise to Arion that he will keep the Duchess. Actually he was supposed to be Arion's aide who would become the next Emperor, but the one prince took off Flint to help Judith. Flint honors his promise to his best friend even willing to sacrifice his life.

"Lords like you, won't know the plight of commoners like me!" Leonard screamed until his entire neck muscles were visible.

Flint did not want to lose gripping Leonard's shirt. "Don't assume that you are the one who suffers the most! You have no idea what the Duchess is going through! Her real father tried to kill the Duchess! Do not insult the Empress and Emperor without knowing the cause!"

Flint explains the Duchess's past to Leonard. How the Duchess was treated in the palace as a child, until the Empress decided to rebel, the Duchess who did not trust the Empress, everything Flint told me. He heard the Duchess's past from her mother.

Leonard could not imagine how a child who tried to be killed by his own father felt. The suffering left behind by parents may not be worth it. The Duchess's harsh and reclusive nature must have been due to her dark past. Leonard bowed slowly while clenching his hands.

Flint took off his grip, knocking Leonard down. Not wanting to linger in the same place as Leonard, he left the room. His steps stopped at the door. His eyes glanced at Leonard.

"Thank you to the Duchess, for her mercy you can live."

The door closed tightly. Leonard punched the floor. Then back to his room. He was surprised to see Idris sitting on his bed.

"Would you like to come here?" leonard asked slightly.

This was the first time he had ever been alone with a woman in the same room. Idris offended a teasing smile. Leonard wasn't ready to do just that, let alone they were just colleagues and knew no more than an hour. He promised to do so with a woman who loved and loved him, even though she had not yet appeared.

Idris approached Leonard. Feeling anxious, Leonard retreated slowly. He's cornered on the wall. Idris brought the face closer, past Leonard's ear.

"Marquis Loid is going to throw a party, chances are the Duchess is coming. You were ordered to keep an eye on the Duchess during the party" Idris whispered.

Leonard immediately distanced Idris from him. Idris' mischievous smile was still plastered on his lips.

"You can say it well. It's not like that" Leonard said with a slightly flushed face.

Idris laughed softly not wanting his voice to sound out. "Your expression was so funny, I wanted to tease you."

"Forget it, by the way why are you working for Marquis Loid?"

"What about you?" ask Idris.

"I don't care about Marquis Loid. All I want is to avenge the Duchess who humiliated me. I'll make him bow down before me" Leonard replied confidently.

Idris laughed. Leonard's words were very funny. The Duchess had a very high self-esteem, she did not even want to bow before Marquis Loid. Kowtowing before a commoner like Leonard, that was highly unlikely.

"Fight, may your hope be fulfilled." Idris patted Leonard on the shoulder as he left.

Leonard wagged the shoulder Idris touched. His words were not entirely true. He just wanted to convince Idris that they were on the same side. In the depths of his heart he hesitated to be on the side of Marquis Loid or the Duchess. He doesn't understand why the Duchess is still hiring him, but Leonard can easily betray him. Leonard lay on his bed pensively.

'Duchess Hillbright is what your true nature is?'

***

In front of the Duchess's room stood Leonard. He hesitated to knock on the door. Yesterday's events still ring in his head. Meeting with his boss made him nervous. He doesn't know how to behave.

Suddenly the door opened. Flint stared intently at Leonard as he pointed at the pocket watch, signaling that the bodyguard was late again. Flint continued his steps out. He had to take care of the temple.

Leonard immediately put himself. Their mood is very awkward. Just the sound of paper. The Duchess focused on working on the documents before her, not considering Leonard.

"I asked for my behavior yesterday" Leonard said.

Judith's pen is up. He looked towards Leonard. "This is the first time you've apologized" Judith sneered.

"It's a waste, I'm sorry." Leonard rolled his eyeballs.

"Just keep your apology to me. Just give it to your mom and dad. Are you going to meet them?"

Why would Leonard apologize? What was wrong was his mother and father. He realizes the reason the Duchess asked Leonard to see his parents, did not want Leonard to make the same mistake, which is not to trust the parents.

"Well, but I can't guarantee they'll forgive me" Leonard replied, turning his back.

Judith smiled at Leonard. He took his coat, stepped towards the door. Leonard continued to flinch, until the door was opened by the Duchess.

"Why shut up? Not coming to see your parents?" The Duchess pointed out with her head.

Leonard sighed softly, following his unpredictable master.
