S2 Chapter 26 Day of Calm

Wollard House

The sound of the door closing sounded. Flint found his mother waiting in the living room. He smiled to calm his worried mother.

"How's the Duchess doing, Flint?" ask Isabella.

"The Duchess is better, but still needs a break, Mom. It's thanks to Sylvie taking Princess Ariana to the Hillbright residence." Although his sister's actions are presumptuous, Flint is grateful the Duchess can be healthier thanks to Sylvie.

Isabella breathes a sigh of relief. "Good, I won't scold Sylvie this time for helping the Duchess. Dinner's ready, everyone's waiting at the dinner table." 

They both headed towards the dining room. They had dinner together after a busy day at work. Before Flint left for work, the Wollards did not forget to gather for breakfast. However, Flint was more waiting for dinner because they could exchange a lot of stories. 

Isabella opened the dining room door. Dale and Sylvie were already there. Flint approached the chair next to Sylvie while Isabella was next to Dale.

"Why is Brother so old? Though it can use magic stones but why even ride a horse carriage," grumbled Sylvie whose stomach continues to ring from the background.

"I just want to save the magic stone material" Flint replied as he ate his meal.

"By the way, Dad's teleportation magic stone is missing one, did anyone take it?" Dale looked at his two children in turn. 

There's no way the waiter stole it, because Isabella cleaned Dale's own workspace and locked it away. She did not want the waiter to touch a magic object that was not-no and even messed up in her husband's room. Only Flint and Sylvie have a spare key when they need something in Dale's workspace.

Sylvie squeaks. He avoided eye contact with his father. 

"I think it was Sylvie, she must have given the stone to Princess Ariana." Flint recalled the magic stone that Ariana used.

"I just wanted to help the Duchess by taking Ana to the Hillbright residence" Sylvie defended herself.

"You met someone" Flint said.

Sylvie cleared her throat while pinching her brother. It's no secret in the Wollards that Sylvie has feelings for Arion.

"Of course, don't fight. I'm not scolding you Sylvie. Next time tell me first, yeah." Dale's lips curved upwards. Then eat the food. 

"Good, Dad." Sylvie put food in her mouth.

They eat food while talking. After that, they went back to their rooms. There was a long breath of Isabella in Dale's room. 

"Why, Honey?" dale asked as he hugged his wife from behind.

"Sylvie's in her room." Isabella stroked her husband's hand on his waist.

After meeting with Arion, Sylvie would definitely not go out until dinner. I don't know what he's doing.

"The girl who was drunk in love was like that. You've felt it, haven't you?" Dale rubbed his forehead against Isabelle's shoulder spoiled.

Isabella is amused. She kissed her husband with a smile. "I think that's your attitude when you're still in love with Leticia. Sylvie looks more like you."

Dale returns Isabella's kiss. "She's similar to us who's been in love with Rion's parents."

Isabella's smile faded, she looked at Dale straight. "I'm just afraid his love is clapping one hand."

"We can't control our feelings, honey. If Sylvie is heartbroken, we can only comfort her. Then, if Rion returns his love, we'll have a Prince's son-in-law" Dale joked, trying to comfort his wife.

Isabella chuckled at her husband's jokes. His bad thoughts slowly disappeared, turning into hope. It's possible that Arion has the same feelings as his daughter.

I don't know how long Ariana hasn't visited the capital. He used to go to boutiques, restaurants, pastry shops, with his family. Since becoming a priest, he had no time.

Now he's gone with Raymond. Being with people he knows makes him calmer.

"Where are you going, Saintess?" ask Raymond.

"I'm going to the doctor" Ariana replied.

Raymond stopped his steps, looking at Ariana full of worry. "Are you sick?" 

Raymond breathed a sigh of relief. Yesterday, he saw Ariana pushing herself, blessing the workers without rest. Raymond wanted to ask Ariana to rest, but she was nothing to Ariana.

They're heading for the famous doctor in the capital. Ariana took the medicine she took from her sister. He wanted to confirm the truth of Leonard's words.

"Please check the content of this drug," pinta Ariana.

The doctor stared at the medicine and Ariana alternately nodded. He reached out, asking Ariana for payment. 

Ariana was unmoved, in her pocket there was not a penny. He forgot that neither his mother nor his sister usually paid for everything. Raymond, realizing that, reached into his pocket. 

"Is this enough?" Raymond put the money on the table.

"Very enough, wait a week for the results." The doctor put his earnings in the drawer.

Ariana exited the clinic while covering her face. It was a shame that he had become a Saintess, but such a small thing could be forgotten. Raymond even paid for it.

"I'll replace it when I get to the temple, Brother Raymond." Ariana opened her hands slowly.

"It's okay, let's just say I repay your kindness all along, Saintess."

"But-" Ariana's speech was interrupted by Raymond.

"I hope you don't reject my kindness, Saintess." Raymond looked at Ariana. 

Ariana could not win from that look. He let out a long sigh, continuing his steps towards the horse carriage. Raymond smiled wryly, feeling happy to help Ariana.

The horse-drawn carriage of the Hillbright family stops in front of the temple gate. Construction of the temple is soon finished, just paint the walls of the meeting building. Judith patted Arion on the shoulder, proud of her sister.

"Good job, Rion." 

Arion turned to Judith. "Are you healthy?" 

"That's it, thanks to Ana."

"Father and mother are very worried about Brother's situation."

"Mom contacted me with a magic stone yesterday. By the way where's Ana?"

"He rested for a while after coming home from the capital." Arion refers to Ariana sitting on a bench near a tree.

Judith approached Ariana, sitting next to her. "What are you doing in the capital, Ana?" 

Ariana was a little surprised, but her face quickly returned to how it was. I didn't expect her brother to come today. "I'm just going for a walk, sister," replied Ariana lying.

"Next time take me too."

Ariana nodded to cover up her anxiety for lying to Judith. Her eyes were on Leonard who was behind her brother. Spotlight Leonard's eyes that originally emitted suffering now look happier. 

"Do you want to talk to both of you?" judith asked, aware of Ariana's view.

"No, Brother. I'll give the worker a blessing." Ariana ran small towards the workers.

Judith took a quick look at the people who worked together to build the temple. Occasionally he glanced at the knights guarding to block out suspicious people. His circumstances were very calm, but he was fretting over Marquis Loid's next plan. 

At the Loid residence, Flint found some evidence of Marquis Loid plotting a rebellion. However, when taking the evidence carelessly, Marquis Loid was even suspicious. Flint is forced to give up the evidence and look for witnesses who incriminated Marquis Loid. If witnesses are found, they can take them to the Loid residence and Marquis Loid will be tried.

"Rather than interrupting, help the workers, Leonard," Judith orders.

Leonard sighed softly, obeying Judith's orders. Rather than stay silent, protecting a girl as strong as the man was better for her to do something more meaningful.

The day has gone dark. Judith returned to her home. In front of him sat a slightly exhausted Leonard. Leonard was determined to say this.

"I will help you to spy on Marquis Loid."
