The Queen Who Shares Love

The Queen Who Shares Love
S2 Chapter 13 Suspicious

Leonard put his things in the knight's room of Duchess Hillbright's residence. The courtroom was larger than the room in his house. The furniture is neatly arranged and in good condition, different from the fragile house.

The sound of knocking on the door sounded. Leonard opened the door. The Duchess' adjutant standing in front of her looked at her suspiciously.

"Come to the training ground, you have to blend in with the other knights," said Flint coldly.

"Good."

Flint turned towards the training field. The new knight followed Flint behind. He watched the Duchess' aide from top to bottom. Flint's face was very young, younger than her. But that person could be an aide in his young age.

"How old are you?" ask Leonard suddenly.

Flint glanced at a glance without stopping his steps. "15 years."

"I can't believe the Duchess hired a minor" Leonard said.

Flint stopped his steps, pulled Leonard's arm and smashed him against the wall. Leonard thrashed but Flint's lock on his body was extremely strong.

"This is the power of minors" said Flint cynically, freeing Leonard.

Leonard looked at Flint's back which was starting to drift away. He immediately approached her while grumbling in his heart.

They have arrived at the training ground. Leonard stood beside Flint, looking at the knights who would be his friends here temporarily. He won't stay here forever. In his heart he wished he could get out of there quickly. Unfortunately, there had not been any new orders from Marquis Loid, so he could only wait.

"My name, Leonard. I hope we get along," Leonard introduced himself after being patted by Flint.

"This new knight will be training with you in the morning. The rest, she'll protect the Duchess" Flint added.

Leonard turned his head towards Flint, with a questionable look. He did not expect to be directly near the Duchess. That golden opportunity will not be wasted. Although, surely communication with Marquis Loid will be difficult because the Duchess is always watching him.

"Hurry, the Duchess is waiting for you" Flint said.

They left the training ground for Duchess Hillbright's study. Leonard rolled a glance at the room. It was very luxurious, but there was no decoration to suggest that the Duchess used to be an Imperial Princess.

'Surely she's the Princess of the bar-bar, ' Inner Leonard.

"I don't need to explain further. Flint must have explained everything. Now stand there, do your duty, "appoint Judith on the wall next to the door.

The Duchess of that one really humbled herself. However, Leonard tried to hold his anger in his heart, his patience would be reciprocated later.

"Go home, Flint. Let me go for it myself" said the Duchess.

"Good, Duchess. Don't push yourself too much." Flint lowered his head, then cleared the necessary documents. He left the Duchess's study, glancing sharply as if to warn Leonard.

There was only Leonard and Judith in the room. The rustling sound of paper and pen scratches filled the room. Without a conversation makes Leonard more bored.

"Why are you hiring a minor like your aide?" leonard asked, breaking the silence.

"That's none of your business, just do your job" Judith replied without looking at Leonard.

Leonard had already guessed the cocky Duchess of that one would not answer his question. In vain, he tried to talk to the Duchess. "I'm doing my job, the proof is I'm still here. It's just so boring."

Judith put her pen up to Leonard. "Then, just stop."

Leonard gasped, not expecting to be immediately kicked out for a little mispronunciation. "I'm not complaining. It's just too quiet."

"Just get used to it, this will be an everyday sight."

Judith continued her work. Silence began to fill the room again. The Duchess's concentration was disrupted as Leonard's vows never stopped. He put his pen down, looked Leonard straight in the eye.

"What's your reason for working for me?"

"I need that money."

"The money I gave you wasn't enough?"

"That's just enough to fix my house. I'm looking for a new job to make ends meet because I lost my job as a mercenary."

Leonard's words were neither entirely lying nor entirely true. He needed money and lost his job. However, the reason was obvious, which was to drop the Duchess.

The duchess tapped her finger. The look of disbelief was still on Leonard.

"Who told you to work for me?" ask Duchess.

Leonard's heart was pounding. He clenched his hands on his back, trying to look calm answering the sudden question.

"Nobody told me to. I heard rumors in the bar about the recruitment of new knight Duchess Hillbright."

"really? Or did you hear it from Marquis Loid?"
