The Queen Who Shares Love

The Queen Who Shares Love
S2 Chapter 16 Concern

The people praying in the temple scattered out. Panic spread there, unthinkable to find the source of the explosion or the trouble-maker in their minds.

The chaos was used by the attackers who were hiding to attack the Prince and his gang. Arion is shocked, but quickly turns things around with Flint's help. Although the number of assailants was overwhelming, they were no match for the imperial prince and the Duchess' aide.

Sylvie lifts the rubble of the building with her magic. I hope Judith is okay. Leonard was confused between having to help the nobleman fight the assailant, or help get rid of the debris, or help the assailant to attack the Duchess. The golden opportunity of defeating the Duchess was in sight, but...

'I must be the one who fell the arrogant nobleman, ' Leonard's inner self.

Leonard moved the wreckage. Suddenly a hand came out of there. Sontak Leonard retreat unable to maintain balance. Judith came out with great effort. There were only small scratches visible on his body. As soon as he saw the flickering light, he quickly used his aura to fend off the debris of the building that was thrown towards him.

He helped the Pope out of the ruins of the building. One of the assailants pointed a sword at the Duchess. Leonard got up and stopped him. He returned the attacker. However, the attackers fled because of defeat in plain sight.

The nobles breathed a sigh of relief. At least the threat was successfully addressed.

Ariana came to witness the remains of the commotion. His eyes were on the wounded brother and the Pope. He immediately approached and healed them.

"Aren't you okay?" ask Ariana.

"I'm fine, Ana. Just a light wound," Judith retorted to calm her sister.

"Pope and brother should be treated in the priest's building."

The two nodded, following Ariana towards the priest building. Arion takes over the business of calming the prayer so that his brother can rest. Flint and Sylvie help the prince.

Elsewhere, Judith glanced at Leonard who was following her. His estimate that his new bodyguard, who planned the attack, was wrong. Leonard protects him, though he can actually attack Judith. Even if Judith can defeat both of them, she is confused by the attitude of the former mercenary. Is Leonard really good or bad?

"How are the temple visitors, Rion?" judith sat on the bed.

"They've returned to their homes, brother. How did Brother and the Pope wound, Ana?" asked Arion turned to his twin.

"Sister's wounds are healed. The pope is also in good condition" Ariana said.

"Are there any attackers caught?" ask Judith.

"Unfortunately not the Duchess, they've escaped. We can't catch up to him" Flint replied with a bow.

Judith suspects that the attack was orchestrated by Marquis Loid. The marquis warned Judith not to immediately comply with her request to take down the Emperor. There was no way Judith would comply with that stupid request. The Emperor was his beloved father, though not his real father.

Duchess Hillbright clenched her hands tightly. 'I'm not afraid of Marquis Loid. Even if you torture me once, I won't hurt my family, Judith said.

"All right, the most important thing is that we help build the temple" said Judith.

"Congratulations on your success as a Saintess, Ana."

Both corners of Ariana's lips were raised upwards. "Thank you, Sylvie."

Judith and Arion congratulate Ariana. They asked the new saintess to visit the palace. The Emperor and the Empress were already waiting for their daughter's arrival. Although still reluctant to meet his parents, Ariana nodded slowly.

The room that was originally filled with seriousness was now turned into a laugh. Leonard m daritadi was there but his whereabouts seemed invisible. He doesn't mind it. His gaze was fixed on the Duchess who was laughing out loud.

'It turns out there's a side like that too, ' Leonard's inner self.

The hot sun stings the skin. The duchess and her bodyguards walked towards the building store. Unseen Duchess aide. Flint was at the temple ordering workers at the Duchess Hillbright residence to build the destroyed building.

Leonard stared at the Duchess's sweaty face. She did not understand the Duchess's thoughts of walking without holding an umbrella. The noble girl must be angry to walk in the sun. They will keep the skin from burning. Although she knew that the Duchess was always at war, she would certainly accept party invitations, where to wear a dress that would expose the skin. If unkempt, the Duchess will bear the shame of the gossip of the people.

'I think too far. No one dared to preach this terrifying Duchess. There is a strong support behind him, Leonard's inner self.

"I'll buy all the building materials here. Send it to the temple immediately." Judith put a bag of money on the table.

They had arrived at the building store without Leonard noticing. The shop owner nodded in thanks. He counted the gold coins in the bag.

"Tomorrow I'll send the Duchess. You give too much money." The shop owner returned some gold coins.

"No need, just take it," the Duchess replied as she passed.

Leonard snorted, looking at Duchess Hillbright who was flaunting her wealth. It occurred to her mind that the Duchess did not buy an umbrella because the money was donated as before. But the price of an umbrella is not that expensive, perhaps jewelry is more appropriate. She never saw the Duchess wearing jewelry.

Leonard's steps stopped. His eyes were fixed on the couple who worked together stealing at the fruit store. Instead of directly catching the couple, Leonard watched them. Their faces are not strangers.

The couple fled before the owner of the fruit shop realized his wares were missing. Leonard followed them leaving the Duchess.

Leonard's steps accelerated, narrowing the distance between himself and the couple. He managed to reach the shoulder of the woman in shabby clothes.

The woman thrashed. His partner immediately rebuffed Leonard's hand, but the former mercenary instead gripped the man's hand firmly.

Leonard stared intently at the couple. He did not believe he could meet the dead.

"For a long time no see, Father, Mother."
