S2 Chapter 24 Growing Feelings

Flint was shocked to see the Duchess pass out. Not usually the Duchess exhausted to unconsciousness.

Leonard immediately carried the Duchess even though he had not been given orders. He didn't care about his shoulder still hurting. In Leonard's heart grumbled. Yesterday he had warned the Duchess, but was not listened to. However, he could not imagine the incident last night when the two of them undressed, it would certainly be even more awkward. 

"Take the Duchess to the room" Flint ordered.

Leonard headed to the Duchess's room which was at the far left wing of the second floor. He put Judith in bed. The Duchess's face was sweating profusely. 

Flint put his hand on Judith's forehead. Very hot, Duchess has a fever. He rushes to find a doctor, leaving Leonard and Judith alone.

Leonard stared at his superior. It seemed that he saw many other sides of the Duchess, ranging from the knight leader, arrogant nobles, beautiful princesses and fragile girls. The Duchess's weakness was in sight, but she was not at all happy, instead feeling pity. Leonard picked up the towel, wiping away Judith's sweaty face.

The Duchess's eyelashes are very pliable, her eyebrows are slightly sharp. His nose is sharp and has tiny lips. Her lips must be sweet. Leonard shook his head to get rid of his dirty thoughts. A couple with the Duchess yesterday damaged her brain.

'Be aware he's your enemy, Leonard, ' Leonard's inner self strengthens his heart.

The door opened hard. Leonard turned his head towards Flint and the doctor who was starting to approach. He gave way to the doctor. The doctor examined the Duchess. When he finished he turned towards Flint.

"The Duchess has a fever, when she rests she will recover. I'm going to make a fever-lowering drug" the doctor said.

"Thank you, Doctor." Flint.

The doctor was about to return to his room, but Flint remembered something. 

"He was also wounded. Please see a doctor" Flint asked, pointing at Leonard.

The doctor nodded and examined Leonard's shoulder. The bruise on Leonard's shoulder was quite severe, fortunately there were no fractures. When it was finished, Leonard's leg was examined, almost the same as Leonard's shoulder, the bones were still fine just bruised. It may hurt if you walk, but there are no serious injuries.

"No serious injury. Resting in a few days will definitely improve. Then drink painkillers if necessary, I'll give after kuracik."

The doctor is really gone. Leonard looked at Flint as if there was a question mark on his head. He knew Flint didn't like him, but why did the Duchess' aide help him instead?

"I'm just carrying out the Duchess's orders" Flint replied as if he could read minds.

Flint looked at Leonard who was standing in the Duchess's room. Indeed the duty of a bodyguard is to take care of his employer but if injured like that there is Leonard even become a burden. "What are you doing here? Just get some rest. Let me take care of the Duchess."

"Alright," replied Leonard lazily.

Leonard's legs felt heavy coming out of the room. Somehow he wanted to stay longer to know the development of the Duchess' condition. 

Leonard has arrived at his room to rest himself. There was a knocking on the door. Idris emerged from behind the door carrying two paper bags. 

"What's that?" ask Leonard.

"Medicine only drink when it hurts." Idris gave one of the paper bags to Leonard.

"Thank you." Leonard received the package.

His eyes were fixed on the other paper package that Idris was still holding. Idris noticed Leonard's tattoo, lifting the paper pack.

"This is for the Duchess, I've already replaced it with a power-weakening drug from Marquis Loid."

Leonard's eyes widened. How could Marquis Loid know so quickly that the Duchess would be sick? Only one day did the Duchess and herself fall into a ravine. Although Idris informed the Marquis, it took him at least two days to send a letter. When going back and forth from the Hillbright Residence to the Loid Residence, Idris would be suspected.

"Don't tell me that the chariot accident was the Marquis', "accuse Leonard.

Idris grinned. "It's true, luckily it rained yesterday so no one was suspicious."

Leonard approached Idris clutching his servant's shirt. "I was on that train too! He wants to kill me too?!"

Leonard knew that his anger target was wrong, but he needed to vent his anger. It is nothing more than a piece that can be thrown away at any time.

"Just keep my life almost floating!"

"No need to worry, if you die even once, your revenge is avenged. The Duchess will fall down and prostrate before the Marquis."

Leonard pushed Idris who was still grinning. Talking to this crazy waiter is just a waste of time. Their thinking is different. The servant owed Marquis Loid his life so willingly sacrificed anything even his life once. Or perhaps he had nothing to sacrifice but his life. 

Unlike Leonard who still loves his life, expecting freedom and happiness. He has parents to look after.

"Come out, don't show your face these few days" Leonard threatened.

Idris leaves Leonard. Leonard groaned in annoyance as he clenched his hands tightly.

'You mistakenly thought I would obey, Marquis, ' Inner Leonard.

The sound of footsteps could be heard in the hallway. Two girls ran towards the Duchess's room, knocking on the door. Flint turned to the wide open door. He took a deep breath looking at the two girls.

"Why can't your mouth keep a secret, Sylvie?" grouse Flint.

"Can't a sister know her brother's condition? I'd be sad if Brother got sick but didn't know anything" Sylvie protested.

"But the temple also needs Saintess."

"The construction of the temple can be handled by Rion."

Ariana ignored the brother-sister feud. Sylvie came to him in a hurry at the temple. Sylvie informs Ariana and Arion that Judith is in an accident and is sick. The twin brother wanted to visit his brother, but there had to be one who stayed. Arion asks Ariana to meet Judith because the power of blessing is needed. So Sylvie gives a teleportation magic stone to Ariana. They also teleported to the Hillbright residence.

Ariana approached Judith while holding her brother's hand to give a blessing. Judith's face improved. He opened his eyes slowly, seeing Ariana sitting next to him. His free hand stroked the worried face of his sister.

"Thank you, I'm fine, Ana," said Judith lirih.

"Don't push yourself too hard, brother. Just rest first," Ariana replied gently.

Judith nodded slowly. Something flashed through his head, he said it before it was forgotten. "The mercenary who once saved you got hurt. You can cure him too, Ana."

"Good, Brother."

Flint leads Ariana to Leonard's room. Sylvie stayed behind to protect the Duchess. 

They both reached Leonard's room. Leonard was surprised to see Ariana coming to see him. 

"Why are you here, Ariana?" ask Leonard.

"I want to heal you" replied Ariana.

Leonard looked at Flint who was standing in front of the door. "Can you leave us alone?"

"I can't leave Princess Ariana with you alone" Flint protested.

Ariana turned towards Flint full of pleas. "Let us alone, Brother Flint."

Flint clenched his hands tightly, he still suspected Leonard. Without his supervision, Leonard could have hurt Ariana. However, he could not oppose Ariana's request.

"All right, just yell if he does anything, Princess Ariana." Flint was waiting outside.

In Ariana's room heals Leonard quickly. Leonard stared at the paper parcel Idris and Ariana gave alternately.

"There's something I want to say, but don't ever ask where I know this. The Duchess's medicine contained a strength weakener. I want you to throw it away."
